How come they don't make anime this good anymore?

How come they don't make anime this good anymore?

Shinsekai Yori is a better version of that

Quit being a nostalgiafag

The manga is objectively better.

When is the manga not always better?

...

anytime that voices enhance the experience like Gintama

K-On?

But they do.

I heard your name was the best anime film ever

...

That american flag design is so good.

Why does Sup Forums have a hard on for this garbage?

Its an easy anime to recommend to friends who like shows with plot and dont like moe shows.

Sup Forums

Friends

Lol

Because it's good

>It's shit
>Sup Forums has shit taste
Do the math

I enjoyed it, but it's not THAT great. It really suffers from some pretty bad pacing in places and the many time skips can be jarring. However, it does have a well-structured story with clear and concise foreshadowing which, when handled with typical Jap care, is more like telegraphing, but at least it's not pulled out of the author's ass at the last second; which it gets from having been a proper novel, not just a light novel.

Sailor Moon
Sakamoto, Desu Ga?

thou must not compare movies to tv

Yea no. I watched it. It was entertaining. But then whenever I think back on it all I can remember is that it was mostly shit.

Exactly, OP, why don't they make anime about an innocent but self strong cast of main characters stood against an uncaring world of nature run amok built on the foundations of ancient catastrophe and the folly of man's lust for power leading him to inhuman downfall like that?

the hell is that? im interested

Gainax doesn't make anime like it used to make before it used to make anime.

How new?

>make anime like it used to make before it used to make anime
what

I thought digital shit is just easier now

Why do you think people would recognize some pre k-on anime?

>miyazaki
Red flag right there man

It's one of my favorite movies, but I don't want to spoonfeed. Use my image and this user to figure it out. I believe in you.

japanese artists are overworked and under paid. there's currently a shortage because they realize how terrible the job is. a lot of artists still live with their parents because they get paid so little, but work over 80 hours a week.

I'll spoonfeed you: Warriors of the Wind

Plenty of stuff has topped Nausicaa. It's not even close to Miyazaki's best work.

...

thanks a bunch mate! i know what im watching tonight

thanks but to late

I'd pay to watch a newfag watch that.

It's western artists that are overpaid, not the other way around.

I'm not sure about other animators, but I hear that a ton of US CGI guys are getting laid off because it's cheaper to do it in Canada.

The best anime Gainax made is the anime Gainax didn't make. What's so difficult to understand?

You're wrong about that one, friendo.

>hich it gets from having been a proper novel, not just a light novel.
LN haterfag. Please explain to me how being published as a novel instead of a LN raises the quality of writing.

it was great. I dont care how anyone shits on it. The plot itself might not have been the best one, but the whole presentation itself.

How much will you pay me? Disclaimer: it's Miyazaki shit so I might just fall asleep midway through though.

Not him but LNs are published for the same audience as YA trash like Twilight.
And LNs often have the terrible habit of being written with the idea of being a long-running series rather than a single, self-contained one.
And tend to be short, unambiguous for their young and stupid audiences.

Outside of the Ohmu designs it's not really that great.

Nausicaa herself is pretty obnoxious too since she's overly perfect and the entire world pretty much orbits her dick.

It's not Miyazaki, tho. It's the bastardization of Miyazaki that almost made him never license any more of his movies in the US.
And what led to the famous story of him sending a katana to Disney once they got the license with a simple note that read "No cuts."

Are you saying it's actually good? Because I've literally not enjoyed a single Miyazaki project no matter how little his input. Are you saying the bastardization makes it better? I'm not sure how Disney could censor his works anymore than they already are.

>Nausicaa herself is pretty obnoxious
Wow kill yourself. Nausicaa is the ultimate 80s waifu.

>he actually sent a katana as an intimidation tactic
It's more cringey when a white guy does it, but it's still fucking cringey.

Wow, you must have the shittiest taste of shit taste. Holy fuck.

Honestly, I can't tell if you're kidding or whether you're actually this much of an idiot.

>no argument
Get over it. It's just someone's opinion.

No spoonfeeding.

>tend to be short
>a long-running series rather than a single, self-contained one
This is kinda contradictonary isn't it? Furthermore 300-400 Pages are perfectly fine to tell a good story.
>Not him but LNs are published for the same audience as YA trash like Twilight.
Novels aren't a expection to that.
There are tons of novels aimed at the YA audience, and the average quality of writing is in many cases on the same level as LN writing.
Novels are just treated better because their ceiling tends to be higher.

You can have an opinion, but it helps when yours isn't objectively wrong.

If you're not going to respond to the contents of my post don't reply. It's rather immature.

None of Miyazaki's films are good. Animation is usually top quality but he's been telling the same boring "wow look at this enchaning magical world, by the way save the environment" story for decades now. It's just not interesting and plenty of other artists have ran with that story and interpreted it in a much better way.

I'd have more respect for Miyazaki if he wasn't such a massively hypocritical manchild about everything, but oh well. Can't wait till he's dead in 10 years.

>look at me, mommy! I'm being edgy on the interwebs!
Cute opinions, kid.

Nothing objectively wrong about my opinion.

>animation
I honestly don't even find it that impressive considering the budget that's spend on these movies. I find random episodes of anime having smooth animation much more impressive. And even then, Disney movies with a budget similar to Miyazaki movies tend to be way more memorable, and that is disregarding how Disney tends to 'taint' their source material.

>he's been telling the same boring "wow look at this enchaning magical world, by the way save the environment" story for decades now.
No, he hasn't.

Nausicaa was the waifu of many for many years!

Saying the animation is bad is showing a pathetic and fundamental lack of understanding of how animation works.
You are objectively wrong and your opinion is shit. You must suffer some severe autism.

...

I'm not being edgy, you're just being a baby. Nice job.

...

>n-no u!
C'mon, kid. You gotta have a better comeback than that.

...

...

Oh, my mistake.

He also occasionally throws in a "war is bad" message every now and then. Right.

...

>saying the animation is bad
Claiming I've made such a statement is only showing you have a fundamental lack of understanding the conversation. Good job! How can I take the opinion of someone unable to follow a basic conversation seriously when we're talking about movies and their lack of depth?

...

I'll do whatever I please, idiot.

...

Nausicaa stronk!

Don't forget how his strong female characters are strong and female! That's important!

And it's exactly that which makes your fanbase come of as immature.

But complaining about spoonfeeding is more annoying than spoonfeeding itself.

Then again maybe a board like Sup Forums being so mean-spirited is a good thing; it pushes away people that aren't already NEET dropkicks. Really, it's doing them a favour.

I find this passive aggression more mean-spirited than people being outright and honest. And I'll refrain from making assumptions about your gender for now.

I've been watching City Hunter recently and loving every second of it, definitely not the type of show you see much anymore, there something special about going back in time to this small period time that these shows existed in, thise late 80s stuff especially

She was still up near the top even in '98.

I didnt even watch the episode the talks about what happened to those to, I watch the one where they're looking for them in the snow and list so much interest I didn't bother catching the last episode when I turned back in three weeks later

>I honestly don't even find it that impressive considering the budget that's spend on these movies. I find random episodes of anime having smooth animation much more impressive.
That's stupid. Having access to more money does not undermine the effort and skill required to create great animation. Impressive animation is impressive for what it is, not for how much money was or was not spent on the production.

How many people were surveyed?

>Princess Trunks is number 2 waifu

now they just doesn't make anime

It's fucking Animage, dude.

i would argue that Warriors of the Wind has a better title and is better edited than the "original."

it also has some surprisingly good voice acting

>does not undermine the effort and skill required to create great animation
Yes, it does actually. Miyazaki movies aren't particularly visually impressive considering the amount of money that was burned making it. Disney on the other hand does despite similar circumstances. It's just that I've seen Miyazaki movies when I was a child so anyone criticizing it is a mean bully.

That you can't even capitalize your sentences properly makes it easy to disregard your idiotic opinions.

I didn't ask. But okay.

Look at the number of votes. They're fairly consistent in each poll.

If you knew it was Animage you wouldn't have asked such a stupid question like "how many people are surveyed"

>again attacking a person on everything but the contents of their post

100?

>100?
Are you fucking retarded?

I never claimed I knew it was Animage...

Why is it that Miyazaki fangays are always incapable of following a conversation? Is that why they enjoy his movies so much?

Manga adaptations of anime are usually bland.

>I never claimed I knew it was Animage...
That's EXACTLY what I'm saying you absolute retard.

Durr red eye = angry, guns bad.

That is my honest opinion. The cult of "no spoonfeeding" is annoying. Anons helping other anons is just dandy. Is the result, i.e., really so terrible?

You really don't deserve any maturity from anybody if the first thing that you respond with is basically "so they actually made the movie good?" upon hearing some distributor heavily cut the movie.
