Why the fuck does anime have a cult following?

Why the fuck does anime have a cult following?

Everyday we lose more and more young white males to the neet life of anime. What is the great appeal of it? Is it something to do with young males rejected by society finding solace in these 2d "girls". Why are so many young white males obsessed with anime?

>inb4 some bullshit about it being LE EBIN redpilled

It's a cringey cartoon at best and peak degeneracy at worst

The stories are compelling and the visuals are stimulating.

It's like reading a book except more relaxing.

Because most Western cartoons circa 2000 were heavily sanitized and struggled to deal with any topic more weighty than your school friends making fun of you for some contrived reason. This created a market for animation with more "adult" themes.

Also, the constant panty shots.

at some point anime attempted to capture the essence of femininity which was dying in modern societies all over the globe
Moeshit took it to extremes though, distilling the pure essence of infantilized female and turning it into a now oversaturated genre

Sadly real women will never be able to compare, these men are lost to society forever

j/k you're a faggot stop trying to LARP someone respectable you doofus

But this is the confusing thing. Normal people find everything about it childish and laughable, the scripts are worded like a spoof or are spelt out to you like a children's cartoon. The story line is always boring predictable garbage with characters who are on par. The only reasons I can see why there is such a huge following of it, is;

1. The art style
2. A way to fulfill sexual desire without the risk of rejection
3. A community that accepts them while mainstream society rejected them

The only conclusion that I can come to is that is has to do with socially rejected men finding solace in a make believe world of ultra feminine, cute "women" who will never reject them.

>the neet life of anime.
I have a full time job fag

Eternal reminder anime turns you gay.

I disagree. For instance, Ghost in the Shell explores various adult problems. Like the meaning of life, machine integration and politics.

Maybe it's just the fact that it's a cartoon which disturbs people. But they have no issue watching actors dance on stage to predictable plots.

I don't know much, but a lot of it is very well researched. Fighting Ippo and Food Wars, as well as Initial D, are more realistic and informative than most movies or shows.

I like Cowboy Bebop and a couple others, but yeah, the intensity to which people get into it is a bit absurd. I've asked a couple people who really like it to recommend me a few and about half the time it's infantile, cutesy shit. The other half is borderline fan service.

I can't confirm that's true you may just have a bias, but lets say it is. This still doesn't explain the cult like following it has, it is not just viewed as whether that individual movie is good or bad. There is a cult following behind all of anime. Thus the word weeb, they don't just watch it like a normal person, they are obsessed with the entire genre and culture of it. The only reason I can come to is the that one in my previous reply.

>Why the fuck does anime have a cult following?

A show like Naruto literally has themes of family, loyalty, striving, duty, heroism, etc. that you will struggle to find in a Hollywood film.

Then why are so many who watch it leftist faggots?

I'm guessing you don't watch the home alone DVD on repeat at your house...

It's fun.

Anime plays a strange role on Sup Forums though. It's a sort of unifier, bringing all nationalities together under the love of/for 2D. Anime's prevalence in the alt right in general is strange, I'd love if more people looked into why that is. My theory is that most anime fans are withdrawn males, and withdrawn males are most often bitter and have a lot of free time on their hands. They're the ones who've experienced the pedantic social games the left forces on them firsthand and they don't like it.

I just like the art style

Blank anime facial expressions allow the viewer to implant their own emotions onto it.

>A world where traditions, friendship, honorable competition and being the best you can be are a big deal
>All the girls are traditionally feminine. Even tomboy characters know female skills and will have moments where they show vulnerability. (like Himeko the former gangbanger and tomboy from SKET dance who can also cook and cries often)
>Beautiful visuals, opposite of the disgusting world we live in (depending on your location)
>Having honour gives victory instead of just allowing your opponent to fuck you over
>A fantasy where things are not fucked beyond repair

>Rejected by society
Do you realize "society" hardly is even a thing anymore? That term used to signify a clear social structure that created an actual sense of belonging-- now, all the social structure is gone and there is just a mass of people mediated by a completely vague and shifting set of social and moral assumptions mediated through impersonal mass culture. It's 100% expected that people seek forms of cultural expression with something organic and ALIVE in them.

Pedo weebz need to hang.
That's all I have to say.
Fucking infantile pieces of shit

You're a fucking bot. Sent to demoralize humans.

Actually I'd say going in anime captures you because it's unpredictable (when it's good anyway, same goes for any tv/film). The characters and settings are something alien and the writing heads in strange places compared to popular western stuff. See: Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Bebop etc.

Once you break onto the fan culture though, then things get fucky. Everything's homogenized, you begin to fetishize it and after a while you'll watch any old trash just to laugh along and participate in discussions with other fans.

I can answer that because I knew way too many people that became hardcore leftists.
>Generally they watch pedoshit, yuri or yaoi
>(watch this anime with me user it'll be hilarious! Instead I was forced to watch Boku no Pico. T. My lesbian sister)
>(I love Knights of the Zodiac because they're a bunch of faggots and I love watching them make out! T. Pansexual dating a transman)
>They watch a lot of fanservice and magical girl shit
>Anything good they watch is usually incidental as they will watch everything on the seasonal lineups

because as a medium it's immune to a lot of bullshit in western media.
90% of anime sales are from the japanese domestic market. No amount of crying of sexism/racism from western outlets will affect their production.
The most tomboy girl in anime is often more feminine than the most feminine girl in western media - pic related. In fact femininity as an ideal is not just accepted but embraced to the point of exaggeration. Yamato Nadeshiko is something valued, not despised. Girls wear skirts ever.
Ideals are not always and constantly disparaged. It's okay to seek greatness.
A seasonal production schedule using manga, light novels, and visual novels as resources means that a lot of crap is thrown at the wall and we in the west get that filtered out and get most of the good stuff.

Mostly though us weebs just want to be left alone. It was better to be ignored than the current state of things where we are used as examples of the ultimate in patriarchal evil. As a freakin' punching bag for people who never understood us in the first place. We never asked for this.

I've never see Boku no Piko or Knights of the Zodiac, so I can't corroborate their degeneracy. Otherwise the rest sounds plausible. Although, this one girl recommend me Attack on Titan, which seemed somewhat decent. However, I could see how a socialist like herself would really get into it based on the themes.

Thanks user. I had the misfortune of being friends with these types since a young age so I understand them pretty well. Funny enough, I had been friends with these people for over 10 years but they all dumped me when I got my life together.

Boku no Pico is child porn (shota?). Knights of the Zodiac is a magical girl anime about effeminate men.

Funny you mention Attack on Titan, Boku no Pico chick dressed up as Mikasa last Halloween. I had the pleasure of disposing of the costume.

Anime as an art style is simple and attractive thus making it kinda like a meme that can replicated ad infinitum. It avoids the uncanny valley by simply simplifying faces while still making them recognizable enough to empathize with. Anime also has a shit ton of genres and stories that vary as much as live action does thus allowing people and types of all sorts to be drawn into it.

Better than being a furry, right?

Literally nothing wrong with anime faggot.

>The only conclusion that I can come to is that is has to do with socially rejected men finding solace in a make believe world of ultra feminine, cute "women" who will never reject them.

>Hot chicks that are feminine man pleasers.
>Actual hard sci fi concepts and high fantasy. as well as genres that hollywood fucks up constantly such as westerns, goth, cyberpunk etc etc
>Pretty close to zero leftist bullshit pozzing up everything
>Exceptionalism instead of self pity
>Pride in themselves and their nation instead of hate for society
>Rejoicing in natural sexuality instead of trying to destroy it.

So, an ultimate escape from leftist dystopia in general.
