Does America show that civic nationalism can work? Even though people come from all over, they were all able to integrate into a single society and now Americans are far more patriotic than most Europeans.
True enough, immigration in the very earliest centuries was almost entirely white. But Hispanics and Asians nowadays are integrating just as much. The majority of 2nd generation immigrants speak fluent English and think of themselves as typical Americans.
Isn't this proof that if you require people to speak the same language, and go to the same schools, everybody can integrate under a single flag?

Yes. Asians have been amazingly able to integrate within American society. Sure they're still considered outsiders to a degree, but by the 3rd generation or so, their native language is completely lost.

Immigrants can and should integrate, and it's fair to ask them to. The first image shows two settled populations, neither of which can really be asked to be submerged.
Islam itself might be a barrier to immigration because they view our society as degenerate, but other populations aren't like that.

No. America was 90% white until 1965. That's why it was so successful. You could make the argument that different white people are different ethnicities/cultures so it's KIND of civic nationalism, I guess.
