I was just rewatching the Die Hard series when it hit me that the last time I can remember blacks being portrayed realistically was probably Die Hard with a Vengeance, which came out in 1995. Watch this scene taking place in Harlem.
It's refreshing to see blacks depicted as the violent thugs they are. Even after the man they're attacking expresses mentally ill thoughts, they show no empathy and continue chimping out, eventually slashing a fellow black for getting in their way. It reminded me of the Dirty Harry series with its realistic depiction of blacks as illiterate thugs who will kill over virtually nothing. Even the "good" black man later reveals that he only wants to help the white cop because he knows that if a white cop dies in Harlem, it will lead to more black people getting shot by cops later on. How refreshing!
You literally never see blacks portrayed this way nowadays. The criminal is always white, even if he's a terrorist who should by all rights be middle eastern, or a mugger/rapist who should by all rights be black. We know too much about crime statistics for this to be acceptable. Even Sup Forums's beloved webm of the female cop getting beat up and raped by a laughing thug, while refreshing in honest portrayal of female cops as worthless, casts a WHITE actor as the rapist in the scene. How utterly ridiculous.

He was an intelligent Aryan who outwitted the FBI and LAPD and would have gotten away with everything were it not for a stupid potato nigger stumbling across his plans and then (quite unrealistically) getting the drop on 13 well armed, well trained terrorists. But that's (((Hollywood))) for you; the Aryan has to lose.
Anyway, for a long time, you never saw black criminal masterminds in film, nor should you have seen them, of course. The blacks you saw were like the thugs from the Dirty Harry series who said stuff like "C'mon, mama, we gonna have ourselves a party!" to the white women they wanted to rape.
Speaking of Clint, I just realized he still gave us a great scene depicting blacks as the violent, selfish thugs they are in Gran Torino.
That's probably the last time we'll ever see such a scene in a major Hollywood film, sadly.
