How do capitalists defend the fact that the entire global economy is centered around convincing people to buy toys they don’t need?
Technological advances have made it possible so that relatively few people can provide the necessities of life plus consumer goods.
Instead the ruling class kicked consumerism into overdrive and the vast majority of people today work meaningless jobs that revolve around making said toys or convincing people to buy them. The global economy would crash to a screeching halt if people stopped buying BMW’s, drinking Starbucks, using Netflix, wearing designer brands, eating meme foods, and buying phones every year.
We are depleting the planet’s resources and wasting peoples’ lives just to keep them at busywork jobs; to keep them hawking shit that no one intrinsically wants or needs without being told so.
Defend this. An entire planet revolving around consumerism.

Capitalism being used as a tool for consumerism is a Jewish trick. It's supposed to be a means for anyone to enter the free market. You wanna start a bakery. You collect some money working at one, then start your own, if your product's good, you sell. Now, we burn down the bakery, buy all our shit from Walmart, and work at McDonald's. Monopolies have a lot to do with this.

We don't practice capitalism. We practice usury via compounding interest, regulated by a central bank, based on a debt-based/created currency. No country has ever practiced capitalism. There is no free market without government interference. As long as everyone falsely believes we practice capitalism, our system will remain broken and the American people will continue to pay interest to a private banking cartel to digitally create our own currency, like idiots. Don't worry, we are not the only idiots, any other country with a central bank under the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), also is falling for this massive wealth transfer scheme.
Remember, both the Fed and the IRS were created in 1913. This way, if they can't screw you with usury/debt, they will get you with taxes.

That's what most governments do. The Pyramids, Asian mega-autism traditional testing, Roman legion military model; all designed to keep peoples' hands busy. If they make their own decisions, then the cult of the state dissolves into nothing.

Nah, it's stuff I use. Got an open-box griddle and a pressure cooker for $30. Makes cooking easy and cheap. Need some foam for a project? Scrap foam by the cubic foot for pennies on the dollar. Need a more powerful computer? Buy the $4000 workstation PC for $670 after it's two years old. Need new jeans after I completely tear them up from daily use? Thrift stores have entire racks of them for a few dollars a piece. Convert the old jeans into rags or substrate for ballistics panels.
I find myself reusing a lot of the stuff that's deemed too old or scrap.

How do communists defend starving and genociding 100 million people and still not even being able to give their populations toys?
John Scott
The "reuse until completely used" and "find the best deal" mentality is and was standard operating procedure for a very long time. It's a /diy/ mindset for the most part.
In the past, because that was the prevailing thought process of many people, manufacturers made their products with repair and service in mind. It was just different back then.
Nowadays, with increasing complexity, it's harder to keep up that mindset. Everything seems to be throwaway. They can still be repaired or reused, but sometimes that involves extra costs or skills many people are not willing to throw down for. I've revived many a broken good just by swapping or rebuilding components. Not many do that though.
Chances are good that everyone won't think like me. I'm probably an exceedingly small demographic, even amongst the penny-pinchers and dwindling number of /diy/ers that exist today.

If a product is designed to be addictive, or the marketing behind it is coercive or made to cause an emotional response, it's not their own choice anymore. well if you spend time and money creating a product, you're going to want to make it desirable for purchase. thats how a free market works. i used to be addicted to cigarettes. the tobacco companies made a product that enticed me and i chose to buy it. successful business on their part. why does virtue or what you believe is right or wrong need to play a part in this process

>The point is if everyone thought like you the economy would literally collapse tomorrow
Yes, because the fundamentals of the global economy is built on debt spending. If people don't accrue debt then the rolling ponzi scheme collapses. It's all built around future growth, this is why globalists want more people even if they have to import shitskins by the millions.
Each person is another drone to carry a debt load. Shrinking populations mean shrinking GDP and that's a death spiral the way things are set up.
Of course what they don't tell you is that the reason we think "perpetual growth" is even a thing, is just based on the big productivity jump after WWII:
>both genders start working (2x workforce) >consumer market takes off (debt spending increases) >technology jump >computing jump >dotcom jump
But what they fail to mention is that all these boosts aren't eternal, and the benefits to the market diminish. We're in the tail end of the internet jump now and there's nothing really on the horizon for what could be an enormous next step. Even computing's productivity effects have turned into a whimper, moore's law is breaking down.
Ultimately what the "endless spring" people don't get is that this world is finite and physics have limits, and that we're coming up against both. Endless growth is literally impossible.
The working masses have been jewed since the 1970s, adjusted for inflation all profit has been going to the few top % for decades, even though living costs are up. There is a new aristocracy already and they want to keep you a slave. They want you fighting foreigners instead of cutting their heads off in the streets for what they've done to our countries.

i dont think it's taking away agency or coercing. it's playing on the naivete and impressionability of the average person. in the end, they still have a choice. i do not feel bad for people who see a cool new product in a movie, or the hottest new kicks in a music video and choose to waste money on that rather than necessities. seems manipulative, sure, but in the end you are still responsible for your own actions.
Landon Perry
I definitely don't believe in free will. I've seen too much evidence against it.
