Who cares about digital releases. I can use sadpanda for digital.
The whole fun of buying stuff is possesing physical stuff.
The beginning of Fakku's end?
If anything, this would be good in the short term.
I imagine BookWalker will focus more on non-h doujinshi, a lot of which doesn't end up on sadpanda. Having digital releases could be really useful, as long as they don't start going after us with DMCA.
Just vote no if you're that concerned.
>makes you buy things individually
>doesn't give you DRM-free downloads
They'd need to fix this before anything they did would be of any real worth.
>individually
Is there really no option to buy a whole series? How the fuck are they so dense?
Please die.
Even if there were, not having DRM-free downloads means that anything you "buy" is not actually a purchase, but rather just renting things for an undefined time period.
A catalog subscription service that allows you to consume a ton of stuff (like Netflix etc) is pretty much the only decent form of digital rental (not to mention basically the only thing that's honest about it being rental upfront instead of pretending you'd be "buying" something when you're not).
It's worthless because it could only legally offer original works. Consumer to consumer second hand sales are a weird gray area legally, but Nips have been cracking down on non-convention based sales for doujin.
Totally. Too bad there isn't a website that lets you rent a huge amount of stuff for a low price like Netflix.
Well technically Crunchyroll kinda does with their manga section but both the quality and the reading experience there are basically hot-ass trash, so I wouldn't actually recommend it to anyone.
You are a piece of shit and a retarded faggot.
It seems particularly shitty with print media. I mean look at fucking Audible, you're paying monthly for what, one or two books? And then you get charged up the ass for anything beyond that.
I guess public libraries are going to remain in business for a while.
Hard to tell, I hate Fakku with every fiber of my being and I would love to see it get some competition, but on the other side being a japanese company means it'll be harder for it to have things like uncensored manga.
Saddens me that Japan can't get it's shit together and make a Netflix/Steam-like service for porn without the need of an american-based jewish middleman.
I wonder when will this tripfaggot be range-banned?
>range-banned
You're not as smart as you think.
Why did you kill nyaa??
>range-banned
Wait, do you really believe he ban evades? He is not banned for a simple reason he doesn't break any rules.
>range-ban
>on a trip
You realize that they just banfilter the trip right?
>but on the other side being a japanese company means it'll be harder for it to have things like uncensored manga.
More than that, it means straight-up not getting any, because as long as they're Japanese / based in Japan, they'll want to stay within the country's rules, which means no selling uncensored content, ever.
So you kind of need a non-Japanese entity if you want to do any of that.
Plus Japan in general has never been particularly good at this whole digital distribution thing (not that the rest of the world fares all that much better overall), so I wouldn't hold my breath for any killer digital services from over there directly.
2/3 of his posts anymore are advertising.
just ban his trips
I don't mind having a middleman, I just hate how all Jewcob does is poach scanlation groups and host a shitty site by any manga viewer's standard. Plus the whole wani fiasco that was catalyzed by it.
How dare you speak to me
>poach scanlation groups
It's more the other way around, scanlators come and apply to work for FAKKU.
>host a shitty site by any manga viewer's standard
What exactly do you mean by this? Because as far quality of the content and the reading experience are concerned, it should beat pretty much anything else out there (even if I'm somewhat biased in saying this since those are the areas I personally work on).
>Plus the whole wani fiasco that was catalyzed by it.
It was the other way around, actually. The Wani takedowns came first, and FAKKU was among the recipients. That's what made Jacob contact Wani in the first place, which then turned into a publishing deal.
...
Why do you browse a site that hates your existence?
>It's a "defend and advertise fakku" episode
I'm really getting sick of these repeats.
>mods are allowing this kind of blatant shilling
What's the hiring process/ work conditions like as a TL for fakku? I've thought about applying. Do they let you pick and choose what to work on? Can you just do things here and there when you need some extra cash?
To max shill obviously.
Remember that time when you samefagged to shill as like 14 anons?
...
Said hate isn't actually universal, plus considering I've been here for over a decade, do you really think some haters would faze me?
I don't even talk about the subject unless someone else brings it up, and you should know by now that I will correct misinformation when it comes to subjects I care about.
FAKKU has a rather low number of translators, so they generally have less choice in terms of what to work on. Full-time employment (onsite or remote) is also basically the only thing that's hired for, so just doing it occasionally isn't really a possibility.
I certainly don't since I've never done anything like that.
Ah well, that's a shame. One last question would be how many chapters a day is considered full time?
Audio books are for children and the blind.
That was like 3 years ago user... time to move on. It was a one week ban
>Said hate isn't actually universal
On a scale from 1 to a hundred (100) how delusional are you?
>not a little blind girl
What are you doing here?
So whats the logic in that its advertising with a trip but not advertising without a trip?
Cameron Daiz, do you only post with your trip on?
It seems like you only show up when it's related to Fakku, but maybe you're just using your trip correctly.
Savouring my last days with eyesight
Doing a quick ballpark analysis we'd probably be talking about 2-3 chapters a day on average (assuming 20 days of work per month and a steady output).
Also technically speaking there is a possibility of part-time work if you were to work as an external contributor (this would basically mean working on doujins). Though you still need to obviously qualify - you should be able to produce solidly accurate translations in preferably pretty decent English.
Not delusional at all, the supportive comments have pretty much always been there.
From the very beginning of my trip use it's always been done with the idea of only using it when it's relevant (like in this case I'm using it because we're talking about something that's an area of expertise for me, digital distribution, and also as a form of disclosure because I work for FAKKU, a digital manga distributor). The rest of the time I post anonymously.
>still reddit spacing
You are deluded 100%
Where do I begin to learn encoding? I want to start making my own rips from raw iso files.
Obviously not daiz, but what the fuck is reddit spacing? Do you mean the line breaks? It makes shit more readable, doesn't it?
Daiz put your trip back on
This tripfag still hasn't learned his lesson. Not even his fellow Finns want him over on their boards.
>reddit spacing
Not defending Daiz, but retards like you annoy me even more. It's called paragraphs. I know that retards like you just don't have enough intellectual cpabilities to make a post longer than twitter's 140 characters. But believe me, that's what everyone has been using for long posts on Sup Forums since forever.
Can you fuck off? That's not even remotely related to this thread, and there's a ton of material on how to do it online.
read >
How exactly would that work legally though? There is no fucking way they would be able to just sell parody works overseas, all the western publishers of original material would collectively flip their shit. And who cares about OC doujinshi? Most of the ones that are worth shit get picked up by publishers anyways.
I really would not mind being wrong though.
>everyone is samefag
No, you're just retarded newfag and people are calling you out.
Why would western publishers care about what the japs do with their work?
It's the latest hot meme among the "trying really hard to fit in" crowd, complaining about completely normal use of line breaks. Well, technically the "real" "reddit spacing" would be to put a double line break after every literally every sentence, which can look a bit silly for normal continuous sentences, but even that has never been some sort of uniquely reddit thing. But by this point even this seems to have been practically forgotten and thus you end up with people complaining about literally any double line breaks. It's best to just ignore it.
>everyone is
But you are.
>That's what made Jacob contact Wani in the first place, which then turned into a publishing deal
Fakku is literally the CR of digital manga/doujinshi.
>Daiz "I am not deluded" Baldy
Seriously this entire comment comes of as you being extremely delusional thinking it has anything to do with fitting in. It only shows of how new you are and you are literally denying using Reddit at this point which is all the more hilarious to me. It's called Reddit spacing for a reason you dunce. You're not on Reddit so don't use it.
There are a few desirable things that don't get wide releases. A lot of sol/yuri artists will do one-off doujinshi/artbooks that are actually pretty great.

CR isn't even that bad.
>It's the latest hot meme
>the latest
it's as old as 3 years ago outside of Sup Forums kurwa
stick to talking about tech you know, you know jack shit about everything else
You seem to now everything there is to know about reddit and reddit practises, please educate us more.
Couldn't they just start up a small American branch or something?
Their entire start easily makes anyone that was here never want to trust them. They should have been burned to the ground and restarted. Now look at what their doing with stream quality which is inherently absolute shit to begin with. Fuck those retards.
Well, it's certainly true in the sense that both used to be pretty substandard pirate sites that got an opportunity to go legit and ended up better for it, though there is a key difference in that FAKKU actually cares about quality, which you unfortunately can't really say about CR.
>you are literally denying using Reddit
Err, no? I do have a reddit account, but it has like a couple dozen posts, pretty much all of them related to times when there's been CR-related hub-bub and I've been there to grill them for it. Beyond that, I pretty much actively dislike Reddit's tree discussion model and greatly prefer Sup Forums's flat model over it, which also shows in the fact that my posts on Sup Forums by this point probably number in tens of thousands.
I've also been here for over a decade, so I would say I have a pretty darn good idea about how people write and have written here over the years.
if you would stop putting spaces between quoting posts it wouldn't be so bad
i came here to say fuck off daiz i hope you're killed by a truck that's all thank you
I don't hate fakku for being a shit site, or for the wani bullshit. I hate fakku because I know for a fact that it astroturfs and shills on this website and this thread is a living proof of it. Not that you'd need any.
Oh I don't trust them. Just that they made fansubbing easier, less tedious for anyone wanting to start fansubbing.
>I've been here for over a decade
And still are a tripfagging, reddit-spacing, balding fuck.
A large amount of posters have formatted quotes like that literally since the early days of Sup Forums. Complaining about something that's been a thing for over a decade is just silly.
It's afraid
>millions of flies eat shit
Great argument there.
Kinda like how people complain about calling Sup Forums a sub-board because reddit owns the word sub.
this is the same deal with :D or frogposting or wojack or anything else adopted by cancer. move on from it
nice repeating numerals
>decapitated sadpanda to jew money
Die.
>A large amount of posters have formatted quotes like that literally since the early days of Sup Forums
You're fucking wrong.
Daiz, DRM is not going anywhere and you know it. When it finally starts making use of SGX enclaves, you and jacob are going jump on that impeccable protection bandwagon.
>less tedious for anyone wanting to start fansubbing.
What are you even talking about? How did CR make fansubbig easier? Or do you think that commie-style editing of CR scripts is fansubbing? It's not, it's fucking pure cancer.
I really hope it's just trolling to make Daiz mad. Because that's literally how people posted here since forever and newfaggots like you should never talk about Sup Forums board culture and its posting style.
At least check archives: desuarchive.org
Those cucks remove patreon galleries when artists themselves ask politely enough. That head was poorly glued to the panda from the beginning.
>digital doujins
>for money
That's bullshit, who would be interested in that, when we have nhentai
>How did CR make fansubbig easier
Free timecodes.
Read
>2008
try again nigga
These are proper paragraphs. Even @12230211 is proper. Whatever. Daiz is just delusional.
>t3h intowebz
> :3
Wow, I guess I blocked that part of old Sup Forums out.
There really is no non-bullshit way to support most of the artists though. Can't order non-used physical stuff without jumping through hoops.
Exactly, those are proper paragraphs. But Daiz keeps biting the bait like the autistic finn he is.
From now on it should be called hiroposting.
support them by spreading the word on good doujins. Why would you care on supporting someone that isn't marketing things toward your region either way? You're not in their vision.
See how nobody types like that anymore?
>keeps biting the bait
Are you saying he's not reddit-spacing? He clearly is.
Daiz might, he's been here for a decade after all!
Is it because all the oldfags went to Reddit?
This.
You do know I've been talking about digital distribution and how to do it right for far longer than I've worked for FAKKU, right? I mean, me caring about digital distribution and doing it right was why I wanted to join the company in the first place - to ensure that they wouldn't fuck it up.
I will never stop formatting my posts in a sane manner, no matter how many idiots cry about it.
I mean if we want to start looking at old posts we could go digging in the fireden's foolz archive, except that search hasn't sadly been working there for a while. But hey, I have a whole bunch of screenshots too - here's one from 2007 showing a double line break after a quote.
I would rather quit than be forced to implement a heavy DRM solution (which in this case basically means any use of HTML DRM, which is pretty much literally Hitler).
Here's another from 2004. Notice how it's namefaggotry central.
>support them by introducing more people who will never give them a penny for any of their works
Don't worry Daiz. I don't mind your post fomatting
>gets adopted by cancer
>Sup Forums stops using it
>now becomes a blatant identifier for newfags and cancer
This is how it always goes.
>1 out of five posts the way Daiz currently is
>somehow thinks this 1 person isn't the outlier but the norm
Sure thing bud
You don't know that.
