I'm two episodes in and liking it. What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired? Watashi is best girl?
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
Other urls found in this thread:
Yes and yes.
It's one of my favorite anime and Watashi is one of my favorite chaaracters, she is great.
Everyone wanted to fuck the nihilism out of watashi
It was AOTS.
I remember a few people hating Watashi for being an arrogant, aloof smartass bitch, but everyone else loved her.
It was one of those shows that was pretty much immediately recognized as amazing, different and wonderful - one of those ones people were already sad thinking about it ending only a few eps in.
If I recall correctly Joshiraku and YuruYuri s2 aired that same season. Fuck, we were so lucky.
incredibly good show which also doesnt attract a lot of shitposting which is nice.
>one of those ones people were already sad thinking about it ending only a few eps in
This. Not a lot to continue discussing about it but it was well liked.
I'm upset I didn't watch it as it aired.
A few weeks ago there was a guy who said he was gonna take a crack at translating the novels, I wonder how he's doing.
There were parts of Jinrui that I liked a lot, but overall it was too tonally inconsistent for my taste. Each arc felt like a completely different show.
>What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired?
> this aired 5 years ago
>What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired?
It was liked so much there was a ton of shitposting in AOTY threads between it and Hyouka.
Watashi is basically Sup Forums anyway.
>between it and Hyouka.
People are dumb comparing this Great series with Hyouka.
Hyouka is great for Kyoani standard and I like it, but it pretty much meh compared to Great series from any other studios.
Also, Junrui has /ss/ ending so it's obviously the winner.
It was a proxy battle between moefags and hipsters (at the time called Shaftfags and Kyoanifags) like always. Both sides had tons of shitposting.
...
...
Season 2 never.
>I'm two episodes in
Seriously, is this all it takes to make a thread on Sup Forums?
>What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired?
Why are you so fucking new?
Best episode.
>he posts in a thread he doesnt like
idiot
It only takes 2 episodes to see that this must have generated a lot of posting on Sup Forums at the time. I remember ignoring it as it aired though, not sure why.
Satellites arc sucked.
Island > Manga > Factory > School > Paradogs = Satellites
And at the end you learn that humanity has been extinct for years and everyone is just elfs having some lulz.
Greatest protagonist in my opinion
I dropped when the robot/wolf girl appeared, I was not getting what the fuck was going on anyway, a bread just killed himself wtf, 2deep4me.
...
The one thing I remember when this was airing was people shitposting it as the hipster show of the season. I also remember one of the threads getting derailed when someone said some stupid thing that gained like 700+ replies (dumbass probably said something like "what kind of faggot saves anime pictures"). Oh yeah, the bread gif was posted a lot, too.
Pretty sure most people liked Mediator-san.
It was weird, too, I remember everyone liking the satellites arc when it was airing but many dropping/almost dropping it because of the manga arc. I always felt the reverse. At least most can agree the island arc was really good.
One of my favorite anime. Watashi is perfect
It's not in chronological order.
>What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired?
AOTS :D
It has a perfect balance of everything, I loved the dark humour and fairy politics a lot. It's also Romeo Tanaka's magnum opus, if you know him.
I just wish there was more assistant-kun and /ss/ but what the show has delivered is fine enough.
LN translations never ever ;_;
But we know what happens at the end don't we? What with going to the Moon and everything?
...
Watashi was the only good thing. Everything else was garbage.
I liked it a lot. Threads were relatively quiet but it was generally well liked (fuck the time paradogs though).
Glad I decided to watch it when it aired; I think a lot of people overlooked it because Okashi-chan had ugly short hair in initial promo art.
Mai Nakahara's magnum opus. Really was refreshing especially since she also played worst girl that season.
Watashi had hard life.
One of my favorites anime and Watashi is my only and dear waifu
Is it fine for her to rape her assistant?
It was very well received by most. It got quite a lot of love for a long time after it aired.
Or her roommate?
It's not rape if he gets hard.
:D
its not rape if he enjoys it
Does he?
i remember downloading it because it was the first show to air that season
and then the bread scene
I think he's pretty implied to be in love with her in the books, with them going on a date and all.
Time Paradog is one of the most genius arcs on the medium.
You wouldn't love a fairy.
Joshu-san would.
>writes an intelligent, humorous and heartfelt story about the end of humanity
>also makes it /ss/
Somebody give Romeo a Nobel price. Doesn't even need to be in literature.
yandere classmate was gold
You may laugh all you want, but it won't change the fact he baited WHOLE Sup Forums.
yeah and assistant kun being the real last human on earth
No, Watashi, she's actually called Margot/Margotte? is a fairy too, her granpa is one too, everyone who seemed human are, they came after the original humans, the new fairies are the small ones.
The assistant (Joshua) is the last remaining original human, she's like tasked to not let the human species die, something she doesn't seem against.
thats what I just fuckin said
Masterpiece and nanoRipe.
The question is, does she love him back?
this
isnt the novel already ended?
yep
totally gonna BANG at some point, with a heavily implied date date too
>she's like tasked to not let the human species die
Now that sounds lewd but also sweet raburabu.
It was my AOTY
Literally intelligent, nihilistic with a wicked sense of humor
'Humanity is dying' settings make me sad, even when it's handled lightly like Jinrui or even YKK.
That said it's a really good show.
...
Everyone who liked it wanted Watashi to leg lock them and be forced to take responsibility
...
The ED really fit the tone of the show for some reason.
I still haven't read the last book yet (a second collection of short stories) but in Heijou Unten there's a story about them going on a date, with some implications right at the end. I think that it's pretty likely that she ends up following Grandpa's advice and merging the bloodlines, so to speak.
...
does anyone know which volumes/chapters were adapted?
They adapted 7 of the 11 chapters from the first 6 books.
In chronological order:
Earth (episode 10)
Dawn (---)
Survival of the Fittest (---)
Time Management (episode 7-8)
Homecoming (episode 5-6)
Secret Factory (episode 1-2)
Survival Skills (episode 9)
Secret Tea Party (episode 11-12)
One Hour A Day (---)
Subculture (episode 3-4)
Sky High (---)
thank you, mate
I like the show. It's sad we won't see a season 2. I enjoyed her as a main character.
>translation
>Romeo Tanaka
Fuck that, the dude can't be translated.
>Fuck that, the dude can't be translated.
He can, but needs an experienced translator. I wish it got licenced, but alas.
I want to sniff her cotton candy hair.
>It's also Romeo Tanaka's magnum opus
>needs translations
?
To be fair, I don't think most of Sup Forums has played Cross Channel. They probably just mean in terms of books. Jintai is a hell of a lot better than Aura anyway.
...
How does Shoujo tachi hold up to his other works? Im learning Japanese now and reading this is one of my main motivators.
The delivery is just great.
>おめえのせき、ねえです?
What would it take for a western publisher to bring this over and give it a competent translation?
A good translator.
And a market.
The market is the problem I think.
The exact definition of pretentious. There is on substance to this anime whatsoever.
Even Hakomari got a licence after years of being finalized and fantranslated, if there's a vocal following the market might be more flexible than thought.
But that's wrong.
>vocal following
Jinrui has that?
Don't get him fired up. Some people have serious comprehension problems and it can't be helped so it's better to let them be.
I comprehended it but every single theme was so shallowly represented it actually took away from my enjoyment because I felt like I was being treated like an idiot.
I would advise to go to a psychologist if you feel inferior so easily
Feeling insulted by how much I'm being beaten over the head with themes isn't the same as feeling inferior. It's more like the opposite.
A following yes, but not a vocal one sadly.
dude
you watch cartoons
>it's animated therefore it shouldn't be held to the same standard
There are plenty of anime that handle the same themes as this with far better execution.
>What was Sup Forums's reaction as it aired?
:D these were the only threads were it was acceptable to constantly post :D :D :D :D
Such as?
what the fuck, I only watched the anime and never bothered to find anything else out, this sounds interesting
Shinsekai Yori for one.
If you're going to act like a pretentious jackass who took Literature 101 and now thinks he's in a position to be all snooty about stories that don't meet some arbitrary set of criteria, at least learn what a theme is. Jintai and Shinsekai Yori's have somewhat similar subjects, but in terms of themes and intent, they're very different.
