How much do you think it has left? What's next for Sorachi?
I really enjoyed the latest arcs, they have really been outstanding and definitely made up for some of the more boring arcs. After this I hope that for his next project Sorachi does a more story-based manga.

As for Sorachi, he'll probably start working on something completely different. That seems to be the trend.

I like Gintama but I'm glad that it's ending the way that it is (ostensibly). I think the timing is perfect, I think the buildup and execution so far are perfect. Hopefully Gorilla will keep delivering.
I have a question. We all know that Gorilla might end the series this year, but how we will keep the threads alive for the upcoming season ? Reminder that the last season had the best threads and I doesn't want them to die fast, because the manga might be already finished...

In the latest chapter out of nowhere Kagura has flashbacks of being the target of racism from Edo citizens. Has this ever actually happened? It seems forced to me.

Hell, we've never really seen any anti-Amanto prejudice period. If anything in the early chapters the Amanto that were everywhere running things had anti-human prejudice, but then they all mysteriously vanished.
It was from the start of this arc.

I started watching the show a mere year ago, and besides some very few special individual eps, the arcs are the thing that I remember and what kept me coming back. Or did your head totally erase the whole Jojo reference arc?

Even though the aliens are occupying and invading Earth, other parts of the world seem to either be unaffected or not care. It's like the entire planet is Japan and foreigners don't exist.

The terminal is in Edo. But, yeah, it's kind of weird how we go to space and beyond but see nothing of Earth outside of Japan. Not even human foreign characters, which one would think would be rather common if Japan suddenly became the center of the world due to the Terminal.

Isn't it generally the case that when long-running manga's end, their mangaka take a huge, huge break and you don't hear from them for a long time? I'm pretty sure Gorilla will take it easy for a bit. I certainly don't expect another work of his in WSJ in the next five years or so.
I might be wrong though, does anyone know of any mangaka known for a long-running manga who went straight onto their next work?

No updates as far as I know, but the costumes look fantastic. And there's a Justaway hidden in every promo pic, which means the people behind the movie know what they're doing. So I do have some hope.

I'm still waiting for Kubo's fashion-based manga. For all of his faults in pacing and story-telling in Bleach, the man is a god-tier fashion designer.
Though I'm sad to see Gintama end, Sorachi has too much talent to just stop. He really should make another manga, I don't care what it's about. His mix of comedy and serious is unparalleled. Honestly one of the best mangaka working today.
I can't wait for Sorachi's take on Rurouni Kenshin next.
