THIS IS A SHILL POST. SAGE ALL SHILL POSTS.

These shills are trying to mislead stupid anons with the testimony from Glenn Simpson that the democrats leaked a week ago. This isn't the FISA memo we're looking for.

>mfw I unironically fell for the shilling

Faggot!

According to Simpson, Fusion GPS’ interest in Trump’s Russia ties was first piqued while the project was being financed by the Washington Free Beacon.

“One of the very first things that I focused on was Donald Trump’s relationship with a convicted racketeer named Felix Sater, and who was alleged to have an organized crime, Russian organized crime background,” Simpson said, leading to his research into a business deal that Trump was involved in known as the Bayrock deal.

Trump’s trip to Moscow for the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, and a vodka deal he pushed there also jumped out to Simpson in the spring of 2016, he told the committee.

He said some of Trump’s dealings exhibited “the patterns of activity that we thought might be suggestive of money laundering.” He pointed to Trump’s golf course projects in Scotland and Ireland, as well as his relationship with Alimzhan Tokhtakhunov, who sat in the VIP box at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow.

“He was running a high-stakes gambling ring out of Trump Tower, while he himself was a fugitive for having rigged the skating competition at the Salt Lake Olympics and a bunch of other sporting events engaged in rigging,” Simpson said of Tokhtakhunov.

The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative outlet owned by Rubio supporter Paul Singer, initially started the contract with Fusion GPS to get oppo research on Trump. When Trump won the nomination, the Beacon dropped the contract and Fusion offered it to Marc Elias, attorney for the DNC and Clinton campaign. At that point, Fusion wanted to delve deeper into trump's Russian connections, so he hired Christopher Steele (former MI6 Russia desk agent) to pursue that topic. Steele started the dossier and became so alarmed at his findings he took it to the FBI.

Don't take my word for it: read the HPSCI Simpson transcript. The number of known criminals Trump did and does business with is absolutely staggering, and the same goes for Jared, the same goes for Ivanka, the same goes for Don Jr.

>MS. SPEIER: Okay. What is the interest of Russia with the National Rifle Association?
>MR. SIMPSON: I think that most of what we have found is pretty much out there now. You know, it's been said by others, but, you know, what eventually - it appears the Russians, you know, infiltrated the NRA And there is more than one explanation for why. But I would say broadly speaking, it appears that the Russian operation was designed to infiltrate conservative organizations. And they targeted various conservative organizations, religious and otherwise, and they seem to have made a very concerted effort to get in with the NRA.

FBI investigating whether Russian money went to NRA to help Trump

The NRA has never supported the 2nd Amendment, it has always been in favor of gun control.
"The National Rifle Association has been in support of workable, enforceable gun control legislation since its very inception in 1871." ~ Franklin L. Orth, former NRA Executive Vice President

The FBI is investigating whether a top Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump win the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter have told McClatchy.

FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.
It is illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.

Spanish authorities tag Torshin for money laundering

Torshin, a leading figure in Putin’s party, has been implicated in money laundering by judicial authorities in Spain, as Bloomberg News first revealed in 2016. Spanish investigators alleged in an almost 500-page internal report that Torshin, who was then a senator, capitalized on his government role to assist mobsters laundering funds through Spanish properties and banks, Bloomberg reported

A summary obtained by McClatchy of the still-secret report links Torshin to Russian money laundering and describes him as a godfather in a major Russian criminal organization called Taganskaya.

Bumping

Thank you

The extent to which the FBI has evidence of money flowing from Torshin to the NRA, or of the NRA’s participation in the transfer of funds, could not be learned.

However, the NRA reported spending a record $55 million on the 2016 elections, including $30 million to support Trump – triple what the group devoted to backing Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race. Most of that was money was spent by an arm of the NRA that is not required to disclose its donors.

Two people with close connections to the powerful gun lobby said its total election spending actually approached or exceeded $70 million. The reporting gap could be explained by the fact that independent groups are not required to reveal how much they spend on Internet ads or field operations, including get-out-the-vote efforts.

During the campaign, Trump was an outspoken advocate of the Second Amendment right to bear arms, at one point drawing a hail of criticism by suggesting that, if Clinton were elected, gun rights advocates could stop her from winning confirmation of liberal Supreme Court justices who support gun control laws.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks,” Trump said at a rally in August 2016. “Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

this isn't going away.
The Russia scandal just got bigger. And Republicans are trying to prevent an accounting.

Aside from the president of the United States, almost no one denies that Russia mounted a serious and concerted effort to manipulate the 2016 presidential campaign.

The Russians hacked into Democratic Party emails and gave what they obtained to WikiLeaks so that it could be released publicly to maximize the political damage to Hillary Clinton. They used social media to spread fictional stories meant to do the same. They made repeated attempts to engage the Trump campaign in a cooperative effort to undermine Clinton and help then-candidate Donald Trump. They attempted to hack into state voting systems.

And today we learn, in this report from Peter Stone and Greg Gordon of McClatchy, that they may have funneled money through the NRA to aid the Trump campaign.

This extraordinary possibility shows not just how comprehensive the Russian effort to get Trump elected was, but something else as well: The ways that Republicans have successfully changed our election laws in recent years have made us vulnerable to exactly this kind of foreign manipulation. And in their desire to protect the president, Republicans in Congress may prevent us from ever learning the full truth.

Why don't they investigate if Israel meddled in our election instead

Oh look! Another shill..

Alexander Torshin, the "godfather" of the Taganskaya crime syndicate

Another Useful Idiot

The Washington Post is out with a story about the American right’s ties to Russia and the article centers on the tale of accused Russian Mob boss and Russian Duma member Alexander Torshin and his red-headed friend, Maria Butina, which I’ve written about here.

In that post, I wrote that David Keene — opinion editor of The Washington Times editorial page and past NRA president — was a useful idiot who allowed a suspected Russian mobster to get close to the president.

Torshin is a member of the Russian Duma and, simultaneously, (while the Post story doesn’t mention it), he was accused by Spanish police of being a ranking member of the Moscow-based Taganskaya crime syndicate. He was slated to meet with President Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast until a White House national security aide noticed Torshin’s name and flagged him as a figure who had “baggage.”

The Post adds an important new detail: How Torshin met Keene.

At least one connection came about thanks to a conservative Nashville lawyer named G. Kline Preston IV, who had done business in Russia for years.

Preston said that in 2011 he introduced then-NRA President David Keene to a Russian senator, Alexander Torshin, a member of Putin’s party who later became a top official at the Russian central bank. Keene had been a stalwart on the right, a past chairman of the American Conservative Union who was NRA’s president from 2011 to 2013.

I never realized that Vladimir Putin had such open and effusive admirers in the United States like George Kline Preston.

Preston, born in 1966, is an expert on Russian law who displays a white porcelain bust of Putin in his office, according to the Post.

He believes that we have it backwards: Putin is the good guy in this story.

not going anywhere until we have answers

>scandal
more like storm in a teacup, brewed by the dems and msm.

the left used feedback tactics which involved foreigners to poison social media during the campaign. they'd report falsely about trump in foreign nations and then the foreigners would post/respond to their american friends with negative views on trump. heard it here first hand at a restaurant and when traveling overseas heard people talking worryingly about trump.

Sup Forumsacks from all over the world did their bit to influence the elections. including russians. so it makes the line "russians influenced election" technically true, but it's not the meaning people take from it.

no one but the russians are being targeted despite what's been said above, and its to prevent trump from making peace with them. the dems and msm will drag this on past trumps term in office - but that's the point.
