If Being X wants Tanya to believe in God, God should provide her with some reward that is actually fulfilling. Being X is throwing all this bad shit at Tanya and Tanya just rolls with the punches cause she knows that is what god is trying to do. Tanya knowing that her hardships are just from a shitty deity then she isn't going to actually start worshipping him.
What Being X needs to do is dangle the carrot of a normal life in front of Tanya. Maybe hit her over the head with the puberty stick and make her like a boy, IDGAF, but even the most assholish Gods get people to actually like them if they bless them with an actual blessing now and then instead of some ironic curse.
I just want good things to happen to my Nazi loli damn it.

You're misunderstanding the situation. Being X doesn't want Tanya to merely "believe" in him. Tanya is rational and can't possibly deny the existence of being x after the experiences she's had. What being X wants is for Tanya to submit herself to him. He wants her not to merely accept his existence, but to subordinate herself to his will and worship. What he seeks is domination and worship, which Tanya refuses to provide since she rejects his self-proclaimed divinity.
Jayden Perez
you mean her suicide vest that she needs to suck god's cock so he doesn't blow it up?
thats my point though, he gets nothing out of praising him as a god because Being X is just being a shitty person towards her. Being X would have a better time converting Tanya if he gave her a bone once in a while, or gave her something worth fighting for (like a family or a love interest, the closest thing she has to that is her 2nd Lt.). As long as Tanya only fights for her own survival she'll never submit to Being X
Asher Walker
That will never work because the moment she was reincarnated, she vowed to get revenge against Being X. Being X lost his chance after their first conversation.
Adrian Wilson
She'll never submit to him anyway. She's an objectivist. Seh cares the most for herself and for success. For her he can be at most way of achieving goals. She wants to develop and flourish in the environment that she's in. But she will never recognize him. Because she stand in opposition to her believes. She wants to achieve by her own merit. He simply has power. She becomes better by self-improvement and that's her goal. X does not want to self improve he want the recognition of other beings.
X stands in opposition to Tanya core beliefs no carrot is changing that.
Easton Reyes
>She'll never submit to him anyway. She's an objectivist. Seh cares the most for herself and for success.
which is why Being X needs to get her to care about something else than herself if she wants to properly leverage her into believing he is god. If Tanya remains self-centered she isn't going to find faith. People turn to faith more often than not when they don't have agency with their situations. Calling his bluff of saying he doesn't believe in god because he has everything and then taking away everything means Tanya has nothing to lose and everything to gain by not fallowing Being X's plans. Being X should have given Tanya a loving family so she can learn god's wrath and mercy on a more personal level. Putting her in an orphanage is a tactical mistake.
AKA, Being X is being a retard.

With Tanya's character the way it is, I don't see how you think anything Being X does would accomplish anything.
Isaac Long
Yes
Jace Williams
I think you are not familiar with objectivist philosophy.
Objectivist is philosophical view which holds egoism in highest regard. And Tanya is hardcore at that. At the moment of her death she denounces God even tho it is evident that he have power over her life at this moment. Someone with such ideological spine is not going to be swayed by a simple carrot.
You assume that the family will change her. For objectivist family is a mean of prosperity and self improvement. Hardcore objectivist will approach the the idea of losing family rationally. Tanya is hardcore in her belief, she's also a sociopath so i don't see her caring about the family much. The friends or family from previous life are never mentioned because there so you know user.
Also doing something like that would be the total destruction of her character.
Grayson Johnson
Didn't we only get out sold by Konosuba? I remember someone posted the sales numbers and we were something like 6 680.

Its half hoping that Tanya gets attached to something, anything, to give her character abit more depth and hurt. If i wanted to make someone believe i was god, i would deprive them, but also give them hope and give them goals for a better life. That is pretty much how cults like Scientology propagate
>No Character growth allowed.
I fundamentally disagree with you as Tanya did object to being reincarnated by the end, which an objectivist would jump at the chance of continuation of their life even if it meant a minor setback.
Lucas Ortiz

she's 11 user, she's gonna start growing tits and thinking about sex and bleeding out trenches any day now. fuck my parents are dead but i don't bring it up at all. nobody would bring up Tanya's family in conversation either cause she is afucking ophran.
Ian Murphy
But that was the mercy of being she despises. As far as I'm concerned self preservation is not always objectivistic goal. It's about fulfilling one's ego. In this case one can argue that defiance of this self proclaimed god is the best decision. Because one's individuality and freedom is upheld. Taking the chance takes away ones freedom, takes the status of independent being.
I had problems with Tanya using this blessed crystal. I understand using the opportunity but there should emphasis on her seeing things that being-X do as worthless.
Overall there are some places in which argument can be made. But there are multiple objectivistic schools of taught. Overall Tanya in many situations presents objectivistic worldview.
Wyatt Phillips
>implying wanting to bang girls or be banged by guys would effect her middle age salaryman philosophy in the slightlest
Leo Jackson
Right. I'm just saying people can get attached to things even though they do not want to, and feelings develop on their own. Cause frankly, Tanya's obsession with living as long as she can is gonna get old if she isn't in constant parral.
plus, it'll fit in nicely with the theme of the second season set up, which is "rational being not acting rationally"
>implying biochemistry has no effect on psychology >implying you're going to think the same way after getting carpet bombed with hormones.
Brandon Scott
I would like her to stay as the anchor of ideology she represents. With her worldview she's kind of unique. "Normalizing" her would not work for me. Besides I can't really see sociopath to having such change.
John Baker
Eh, its personal preference. i can respect that.
Alexander Fisher
Yeah it is. I also understand that someone want some deeper relations with other characters family for example.
It puts Rerugen's fear of Tanya into perspective. Pretty much everyone else in YS is oblivious to the obvious that Tanya is highly abnormal.
Nathan Thomas
So what does this have to do with a sociopathic athiest suddenly worshipping god?
Liam Butler
Tanya's perspective has undergone some subtle character development, she is not actually the same person as salaryman, and that reflects growing up in a different environment.
Salaryman expressed contempt and disdain toward Sonzai X and didn't really show any concern over self preservation.
Tanya has been concerned with self-preservation from the start. While she started off with the same contempt for Sonzai X, that gradually evolved into fear. Salaryman wouldn't have shot possessed corpses or pointed rifles at an angels statue menacingly. Tanya shows increased agitation at Sonzai X over the course of the story even without evidence of his direct influence.
Luis Taylor
>Hi I'm Tanya and I am a 12 (52) year old girl (male) >And I just want to punch god (demiurge) in the face
Christopher Nguyen
When you're about to be hit by a train, any concern for self preservation goes out the window. And when you're facing absolute annihilation without hope of reincarnation in your next life, you're obviously going to want to survive.
Adam Richardson
But she's cute
Nathan Hall
Differences between the anime/novel.
In the novel, Sonzai X isn't as prominent. The Type-95 is handed to Tanya by a different god from the one who reincarnated her. The aim seems to be spreading faith/Monotheism regardless of Tanya's will.
Anime is a lot more clear-cut. Sonzai X is interested on if he can turn Tanya into a believer. He's willing to sacrifice lives just to satiate that curiosity.
Owen Rogers
Some anons are allergic to moeblobs
Daniel Jenkins
i will agree, her eyes are too far apart sometimes.
Nathan Brown
I don't buy that. Atheists believe that dying is like going to sleep forever. Your consciousness simply ends. It's a concept that has existed since antiquity and the Greeks called it "oblivion". This is certainly what salaryman thought his afterlife would be like before Sonzai X interfered. In the anime, Sonzai X explained that he reincarnates atheists rather than sends them off to heaven/hell to give them another shot at finding faith. He was going to give salaryman oblivion because of his fedora tipping.
Sonzai X promises salaryman oblivion if Tanya dies prematurely. If salaryman still had the same ideological purity of his former life, Tanya would not be so hellbent on self preservation. There was a clear change in personality/objectives during the reincarnation.
Anthony Rivera
I've seen way way worse than that in shows like Yume Tsukai.
Noah Myers
I think she's a moeblob done very well
Alexander Evans
It's less about self preservation for Tanya, and more of wanting to put Being X in his place by proving to him that even with all the bullshit she still won't have faith in him and will still manage to live a safe relaxing life in the rear. And every time she gets near her objective, Sonzai X steps in and pisses her off even more.

I do wish people would use correct words. Being X does NOT seek Tanya's faith or belief. Being X exists and Tanya expresses that knowledge, therefore belief is not part of Being X's motivation. (Faith is belief in something without proof. Tanya has proof therefore she cannot have faith as she has direct evidence.) What Being X really WANTS is WORSHIP and ADORATION, in the form of subservience, prayer, and subjugation to its will. > >This is essentially a story of a runaway slave that refuses to be broken into service of its master, call her Kunta Kinte if it's easier to understand her motivation. Tanya is not atheist but rather she is an anti-theist who refuses to bend knee to a being that can snuff her life out, at a moments notice. > >She is a rational anarchist who with her dying breath refuses to be broken, hence Being X's interest. Being X has met billions of souls but all have repented at the last moment. Tanya is that one in trillion that has refused for the first time and continues to refuse no matter what, she is a puzzle and a challenge that Being X can't let go, because Being X has never faced failure. youtube.com/watch?v=6doa_xZsD-0&lc=z13gfz3hwxnny1va404cezzbfl3bg11yo3g
Kevin Collins
Being X doesn't want Tanya to worship him. He's punishing Tanya by using his own logic against him. Everything bad that happens to Tanya is Tanya's own fault with the first instance (reincarnation) being her attempt to bullshit him being used as a punishment via taking the argument at face value.
TLDR Tanya is actually Tanya's own worst enemy.

That's a fun link but there's no evidence every atheist converted when Sonzai X talked to them, or even that he conversed with every one.
Salaryman did make the disclaimer that he had personality problems, but he also argues that his behavior is the natural outcome of a society like 2013's Japan. Sonzai X seems to concur, hence his weariness at having to reincarnate so many atheists.
Tanya definitely becomes an anti-theist from the first moment she realizes Sonzai X is supernatural. The logical rejections are rather flimsy, like grasping for a reason to not submit without completely breaking character.
Parker Collins
