All that beautiful directing and mature story and retro-esque sfx and top notch seiyuu work couldn't hide the simple fact that japs can't animate anything beyond silhouettes zipping around the frame anymore. I still loved it though, so maybe animation doesn't matter.

I thought it was absolutely terrible. It had nothing going for it. Trash designs, zero animation, attempts a "deep" storyline but literally has nothing going for its narrative or message, ruins a once-good franchise, no good or frequent action to stave off the bad story and characterization, everything is a early digital blurry mess.

But it's obvious that you didn't want to here a candid opinion, you just wanted a Casshern Sins thread. I'll take my leave.

It has great designs which is one of the best things about it, nice animation at times (unless you're an action fag) and a thoughtful, meaningful story build up over the course of the show.
