Why haven't I watched the bomberman anime yet?
Because it's kinda meh
not really that bad, just not really good either
feels a bit generic
SERENITY NOW!
>implying this wasnt homage
Watch it when the BDs get ripped.
>this is real
>it's not SiivaGunner
what the shit
What's the deal with Red Bombs? I mean, if I paint an egg red and throw it at a fence, does the yolk pass through it? Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?
That's nothing.

Those two are only slightly similar
Mujoe's Theme is literally the Seinfeld theme, just a little faster and with slightly different pitch.

what the fuck is japan's problem
holy shit. finally i know why the evangelion opening sounded so familiar
slightly similar is an understatement
No it isn't, idiot.
You don't know music then
You're the idiot who knows zilch about music.
It's basically a carbon copy are you high?
my life is a lie
Am I retarded? I can't hear a single damn thing that is similar between them. Can someone give me a timestamp or two?
For idiots like you only
This is fucking shameless.
They are nothing similar.
the vocal sample kinda sounds like the chorus to cruel angel's thesis
>No A-Team and Full metal Panic
The choruses sound similar:

same key, same tempo, similar but mostly different notes

You can't be serious.
SOMEONE MUST EMAIL ROB REINER!!!! HE MUST TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THIS BLATANT COPY RIGHT INFRINGEMENT!!!
But is that anime plagiarizing Rick Astley or Chrono Trigger?
youtube.com
My sides have achieved orbit
Is there something wrong with an anime OST remixing or referencing music?
Holy shit that's blatant as fuck
But then again Jap products were known for being substandard and openly rip offs patented materials. Theyre basically China today at that era
Not even trying.

Holy shit. Put me in the screencap.
You don't fucking say? I thought everyone knew this was a remix of that song.
...
Im hearing something else, maybe very gundamy at :35
like I can almost here lyrics for it
Typically those get acknowledged in the credit roll. This one didn't.
Not even close.
>those comments
O I am laffin
Still not even close
SKA-P has a lot of songs, I can't remember which one, but Eromanga's ending is definitely ripped off from one of them
Probably because it's so fucking obvious, and the song is pretty old.
holy shit

What?
>hey composer-san, would you mind making a track based off of [popular/recognizable piece of music]
>sure!
WOW SOMEBODY CALL THE COPS WHAT A BLATANT RIPPING OFF
retards
this is the only one that's actually sketchy, since I find it hard to believe anyone actually asked Iwasaki to include their favourite Chemicle Brothers song or whatever. He probably heard it one day and forgot it then years later remembered the sound but not the source. Happens to me all the time and I'm not even musically inclined.
Just like OP's is obviously Seinfeld's theme, and Seinfeld is "pretty old" to some people.
So you think if someone explicitly asks a guy to rip someone off, it's not a ripoff?
>based off of
OP's example isn't "based off of", its literally the Seinfeld theme.
Here's another obvious one
youtube.com
youtube.com
This is more blatant than L's and Exorcist theme
To be fair, Muv-Luv as a whole is a rip off of Starship Troopers
>hey guy I wanna make a joke about Seinfeld
>make a spoof of the theme song
You want him to make something completely original and defeat the point? I don't think you understand the purpose of a soundtrack.
And it's not literally the Seinfeld theme you deaf retard, but it's certainly close enough to be recognizable which is almost certainly the fucking intention. I don't know if there were any godamn Seinfeld references in the bomberman anime but I doubt you do either so what the fuck is the complaint here?
>close enough to be recognizable which is almost certainly the fucking intention.
Thus, copyright infringement.
Do you seriously believe that deliberately copying something in it's entirety is ok, but accidentally using a couple notes from one of the many things you've taken inspiration from is bad?
>You want him to make something completely original and defeat the point? I don't think you understand the purpose of a soundtrack
>we literally ripped off the opening to one of the most popular sitcoms ever because we were being ironic
If you actually used this as a defence in a copyright lawsuit, the claimants would fucking laugh at you.
There's a reason that when westerners make spoof songs, they actually compose a brand new song that isn't a 1:1 copy.
youtube.com
A lot of these are just references, aren't they? I mean in particular sound like Taniuchi just listened to a bunch of Aphex Twin and thought "hey I'll throw in some familiar melodies". It's not like the songs are ripped off wholesale, he just quotes the melodies and goes in his own direction with them, which I think is fine.
>Thus, copyright infringement.
Not in japan.
>but accidentally using a couple notes from one of the many things you've taken inspiration from is bad?
When did I say that?
>>we literally ripped off the opening to one of the most popular sitcoms ever because we were being ironic
>If you actually used this as a defence in a copyright lawsuit, the claimants would fucking laugh at you.
But I'm not using this as a defense in a copyright lawsuit for fuck's sake. I'm saying this as an user who wants to justify enjoying the music. And again, that Seinfeld ripoff IS a new song. It's very similar, maybe too similar to hold up in court under US copyright law, but it's clearly an "original" (read: newly composed/performed, disregard the artistic integrity for a second) for the sake of the show.

Fucking Sawano.
>Not in japan.
Japan is a signatory of the Berne Convention. So yes, in Japan.
>When did I say that?
Somewhere around
>Japan is a signatory of the Berne Convention. So yes, in Japan.
Fair enough, you got me there.
>Somewhere around (You)
You think when I said "sketchy" I meant "this is a crime"? I was saying it was suss, man. That the poster might have a point in that it's ripping something off knowingly or not. That Iwasaki threw it in on its own. It's a case that I'd find it hard to defend, too. The part that's similar is just lifted wholesale from the CB track and dropped into the middle of an original track, so I dunno. I don't think it's a huge fuckin' deal, but I wouldn't say it's A-OK either.
I read nothing into your words. You explicitly stated in that copying something because you're told to a couple months after it becomes popular is OK, but hearing something and accidentally reproducing something similar years later isn't.
>Fair enough, you got me there.
And I will continue to do so if you keep replying. Learn when to shut up, kid.
Quote to me the line of text in that post you are talking about, because you've completely lost me. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
Mother of god
Literally the entirity of ">hey composer-san, would you mind making a track based off of [popular/recognizable piece of music]
>sure!
WOW SOMEBODY CALL THE COPS WHAT A BLATANT RIPPING OFF"
this shows your belief that ripping something off intentionally because you're told to is not ripping off.
"this is the only one that's actually sketchy, since I find it hard to believe anyone actually asked Iwasaki to include their favourite Chemicle Brothers song or whatever. He probably heard it one day and forgot it then years later remembered the sound but not the source. Happens to me all the time and I'm not even musically inclined."
This shows your belief that accidentally reproducing something they took inspiration from is sketchy.
Ska all sounds the same, what's your point?
>this shows your belief that ripping something off intentionally because you're told to is not ripping off.
It's making fun of people overreacting for fuck's sake. You ARE reading into my words, despite claiming to not be.
I'm not saying anything about the legality or the morality regarding that practice, just that it's probably what's happening.
>This shows your belief that accidentally reproducing something they took inspiration from is sketchy.
Sketchy in the legal sense, man. I already explained what I thought was a pretty neutral statement here This argument is fucking stupid because it's completely devolved into semantic bullshit.
>I'm not saying anything about the legality or the morality regarding that practice, just that it's probably what's happening.
Actually, addenum: What I'm saying is that the overreaction to one song being clearly based on another is silly, because it's not a malicious attempt to take the music as their own and pretend like they're the sole originator of it.

I can't even believe it myself
>Sketchy in the legal sense, man.
To quote an unwise man,
"Not in japan."
But have fun trying to explain how you were just being ironic when you said that 150 posts before your totes serious post in
Also, to preempt you just in case, I'm gainfully employed and can continue as long as you want with very little repercussion to myself. I am about to run low on booze, though.
Look man, I don't know what to tell you. Everything I've got to say is on the table. Go read my posts in order and sleep on it if you need to. At this point I've completely lost track of what point you're even trying to make and I'm not entirely confident you can't say the same about my posts, so whatever. Don't go spinning your wheels for too long.
That's not how copyright works
Didn't say it was.
>hey, let me copy your homework
>ok but change it enough so it doesn't look like a copy
Copyright laws killed the great composers.
Real music should work hard to survive.
