While I am dumping can somebody else bump the thread? IIRC, the OP can no longer bump his own thread.

Is anyone else reading this?

I think the artist was sick. I know it's not Riku Sanjo since he's been writing for Kamen Rider during this hiatus

Did he remove his ranking or something?

He removed his stars, which signifies he is no longer a 7 star vandel.

Series resumes in the summer issue of Jump Sq Crown, which I think releases in July. Also the series is now back on sale in stores.

I see. Thanks for the upload

>Series resumes in the summer issue of Jump Sq Crown
It's not resuming, it just says details on its return will be announced then.

I'm rereading this now, and I forgot how simple and enjoyable this manga was. Glad it's moving again at least.

Fuck, it feels like reading Dai no Daibouken again after all these years

My mistake, the series skipped the Winter issue and IIRC details about its return was supposed to be in the Spring issue. That was the page I pulled from the Spring Issue.

No, I mean they originally said they'd announce details in the spring issue, but that page that was in the spring issue just says "we're working on it, it'll be announced in summer."

Anyone know where I can find scans of all the chapters? I started reading it a bit when it had its first chapter in American Jump but could never find a reliable scan.

Wow, I remembered this being pretty light-hearted. I definitely didn't remember a soldier getting headshotted of all things.

The story starts off with the hero fucking things up for his idols, the Zenon Warriors and Zenon turns out to be his brother. Then they all disappear for like 8 volumes. The story has a lot of dark moment within it.

That's like basic story structure though. Give the hero an ideal to strive for and all. I understood story structure as a kid, but I never really picked up on character subtext too well, so I never really got how much baggage Beet had.

how does this compare to Dragon Quest Dai?

>Dragon Quest Dai

How good is that btw? Have that on my backlist.

the same pace as dai, but an actual love interest exists for the MC.

>pace
This series has been on hiatus for a decade. Pacing is a non-issue.

Imagine a DnD campaign but with Dragon Quest lore

I thought it treated it's secondary characters with considerable respect, and it seems almost everyone with a name got character development. (even the villains)

it's probably the most popular dragon quest derived manga. It's influence sometimes can be seen in Dragon Quest Monster games.

Also it has produced quite a few memes

I like both, although oddly Beet is more like a video game than a literal Draon Quest series. Still pretty fun though. The Vandels are the most interesting part.

Pop is the best character.

>no scans for 12
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

he was a very good "support" character
even made better that he is a mage

and they didn't force him to be cool or edgy or take be a hybrid mage fighter class like they usually do in other stories

I liked that they stuck with his initial premise. He's a nobody, and the son of nobodies (A blacksmith and a housewife). No special bloodline, no favored by the gods, nothing. And through hard work and training he ends up the second strongest in the main party and learns what is arguably the most deadly spell in the whole series that can theoretically destroy anything. Even the final boss was scared of it.

Indeed, coming from humble origins was his charm.

And I loved when he figured out how to cancel out Kaiser Phoenix

Neat.

I'd read this if it were translated.

Thanks for the dump user.

This was the first manga I >bought outside of Naruto etc

bump

Bump for the memories

No chapters around after 41?

ANyone else get a connection error for the last hour or so?

Poala protecting her man again I see.

>I did not know a Vandel could do this
IT happened in volume 11 or so when a bunch of the 4 star vandels that the group had defeated shacked up with Garronewt. In order to be sealed in his stone blocks they had to first rip out their stars in order to be treated as "monsters" instead of "Vandels".

Thanks for the dump OP.

This is the only manga series I ever bothered to purchase. I have scattered issues of FMA and Rave master but all 12 volumes of Beet.

Does my heart good to see this come back and to see our boy Beet finally get his own Saiga.

Apparently Sup Forums servers died earlier, which did not allow people to post for about 3 hours
