Gaslighting

Why is this term so often used and used incorrectly? It has become a catch-all retort against telling someone they're being irrational or acting like an insane person. "You're calling me crazy." or "You don't believe me." is absolutely not gaslighting. I'd really like to know if the people who use this word so generously have even watched the movie this term stems from, which obviously puts the the definition in it's place and shows the correct usage.

people adopt the language of those around them or media they consume. It's why language is so important, and why leftists want to police it.

It's like calling someone a rapist.. It's just something women do to win an argument.

Because nobody reads anymore, people don't know what most of the words fucking mean, they just repeat what they heard on tv

comparative to when the word "xenophobic" was being used constantly. And any retard who used it thought they were original while using it.

Can't deny that the majority of people using the word xenophobic on a daily basis probably didn't know it was even a word before CNN started using it.

It’s also meaningless because any cluster b worth their salt would just turn it around. An accusation of gas lighting becomes gas lighting

Memes can be words too, and "gaslighting" is the latest meme. We did this btw - I never heard of it until Sup Forums started using it. And, as with "snowflake" and "cuck", lefties have started abusing it despite lacking the necessary framing the word requires.

I've noticed people using 'gaslighting' to mean 'disagreeing with me'

gaslighting has existed a long time before Sup Forums started using it wtf

>why are normies wrong?
Because they just are. They're fucking wrong about everything and they just keep on being wrong
