nope fit perfectly with Luffy's personality and powers and fits well with the manga.
Some people have problems because it doesn't look like your average shonen power up. Lean, edgy, platinum or light colored hair. It was a step in a different direction, and it works.

Not really, while it's a power-up, Oda didn't make it extremely overpowered to the point Luffy can one-shot any boss.

Why? The design's a little silly but as another user said, at least it's not a typical look.

I said it in another thread, I think it balances coolness and goofyness pretty well. His overall design reminds you of an Oni, or a war god as pointed out, while also being kinda silly with the bouncing thing to remind you it comes from his rubber powers.

The only thing I don't like it's his tiny legs. His calfs at least should be more balloney or something, it really looks unbalanced like that, specially if he has to constantly bounce on those little spaghetti legs.
