3x3

The problem about 3x3's is that they aren't really representative of my opunions. For example my 3x3 has one punch man, but I don't think one punch man is great. It's just that I can't think of 9 anime that are better than opm. I guess I could put haruhi or death note there, but they where great when they came out and have been outdone as time went along.

So watch more anime?

You don't have to think too hard. Just add anime that you enjoy the most. 3x3's aren't objective lists.

One idea for putting together a favorites chart is to only list up to 1/10 of the works you've experienced. By this metric, if you're making a 3x3 you should have seen at least 90 shows/movies.

If you manage to make it that far you should hopefully find more favorites and not have this problem.

I have like a 100 shows listed on mal and I probably watched more that I just forgot about
I. SAID. 3. X. 3.

Fuck off and watch more.

The problem with 3x3s is that they're cancer and another form of recommendation fagging. Too bad they aren't getting cleaned up with the rest of the trash.

Can't you count, user? I have my 9 favorite anime on the left, and my 9 favorite manga on the right.

That just means you're a filthy casual and havent seen enough anime
>but they where great when they came out and have been outdone as time went along.
You have literally not even seen enough shows to fill a 3x3 yet you are already trying to make big statements like this? Get your head out of your ass. Not that thats even how art works in the first place, a show doesnt become irrelevant or "outdone" just by virtue of being older

when haruhi came out it was like nothing I have ever seen before but now I've seen like a million shows that are better than it that built upon it

You're a very feminine guy, aren't you?
you guys used to play a lot of pretend as kids, right??

>You're a very feminine guy, aren't you?
Loving sexy, stylish women is feminine?

Where exactly do you think you are?

In my apartament.

I used to pretend my life would have meaning when I was a kid

Why won't you post your actual 3x3 and not digibro's?

Do you guys try to keep some level of diversity in genres?
I haven't made one yet, but I know I want to include Kare Kano or Kimi ni Todoke, I love both but feel like I should only include one positive shoujo romance anime, so I have to choose.

If you want to show off your taste in different genres, you can. Though, I prefer to show off shows that I formed a personal connection too.

I was thinking to do the same thing. Shows that mean something to me, even if they aren't my favourites or anything, things that used to be or impacted me for some time or something. Or just shows I fall in love with.
What I got so far:
- Kaleido Star
- Magic Knight Rayearth
- K-On
- Serial Experiments Lain
- Digimon Tamers
- Kare Kano / Kimi ni Todoke
- Chihayafuru?
Don't know, there are some gaps. I know for certain that the anime I am the most in love with now are Kaleido Star, Rayearth and K-On, probably, so those are given. While Digimon Tamers was my first anime I didn't watch in childhood, and was unlike anything I had seen before, and was a show I liked for a long time, but now I haven't seen it in a long time and have seen many other great anime since, so I don't know if it still holds up

>i watch digibro/bestguyever starterpack

The list may be somewhat inaccurate, I mean i watched Toradora like 4 times so it could be worthy of a slot but memory has sorta gone to crap. I know GaoGaiGar is the one above all though.

You wouldn't have this problem if you actually had an opinion to represent.

7/7 What's the bottom - mid one?

why do people like atmosphere comfy anime that much ? they kinda suck

Mostly for the Iyashikei aspect. Personal preference that I like more relaxing things over action oriented or deep/psychological shows.

>What's the bottom - mid one?
Midori-ko. You should go watch it right now.

It's pretty relaxing, though they usually have something going on at the same time like Mushishi and mushi stories.
Aria is the only iyashikei anime I can think of that doesn't really have anything interesting outside of it's atmosphere.

I don't think genres matter. To me it's just shows that had multiple levels on impact on me, something that appealed to my aesthetic taste, that gave me a strong and diverse emotional response and that lead me to think about it. The kind of show that you just get a little excited about when you suddenly see it mentioned. Something that when asked what mark or rating you'd give it, you'd just intuitively spout the highest one available without any internal feeling of protest.

Some people of course might find it easier to form this type of connection with certain genre. I never really found this to be the case, but I do have a fondness for certain tropes. Or rather those tropes by their nature make it easier to form that connection.

I'm so apathetic to most anime that I tend to really inflate my attitude towards anything that manages to elicit any kind of response out of me. That's also why seeing just one anime that I have strongly negative feelings towards on an otherwise decent 3x3 completely sours my entire view of that particular 3x3. An 8/9 can mean a piece of shit in my eyes.

More importantly though, how about that new Twin Peaks?

>make a 3x3
>realize half of it is garbage
>make another
>afraid it's still garbage
>delete it entirely

Being socially inept on an anonymous imageboard is suffering

>'m so apathetic to most anime
I think that's the same for everyone. It's one reason I stopped giving ratings. I just felt that especially a lot of my 5s and 6s were just shows I didn't even care enough about to put under more detailed evaluation (or even general).

On the other hand I don't really know many anime I have negative feelings towards. I came upon a few of those when I just started watching anime, since I would pretty much anything from top x lists. I've also gotten pretty good at avoiding things I would dislike and by now even things I would feel neutral about. I watch only 3-4 shows from each season.

>More importantly though, how about that new Twin Peaks?
Haven't seen it yet. I don't watch currently running stuff anymore and just wait till the season ends.

At least wait until you post it and get bullied out of the thread before you give up.

I'm essentially the opposite

9/10 shows I watch I will enjoy, almost solely because I took the time to watch them. That 1/10 will end up being the slow paced show that I just can't sit through, either because it seems pretentious or just doesn't do anything for me by episode 10.

>I've also gotten pretty good at avoiding things I would dislike
I never understood this sort of reasoning.
There are many shows that I'm curious about even though I know they are not likely to be much better than just average or in some cases even plain bad.

Oh boy, you're missing out on that excitement of gradually uncovering the mystery. Not to mention some really spicy memes.

>There are many shows that I'm curious about even though I know they are not likely to be much better than just average or in some cases even plain bad.
If I were curious about it then that would mean it's something I'd like to a degree.

Not him, but I also can't watch seasonal anime as they release. Probably because I'm autistic and won't be able to remember the show two weeks later.

I prefer having control over how fast I can watch something. It detracts from my enjoyment if there's something I'd like to watch at a faster pace but I can't.

You can like to a degree a bad show.

I never really had much good experience with "ironic viewing". I did enjoy a bit of the first episode of Garzey's Wing but the next two I felt bored with. I also had people recommend watching SAO to me because it was supposed to be "hillariously bad" but I fealt pretty much bored from the beginning to the point that I couldn't concentrate on it from the beginning and it took me a few months to finish the whole thing.

I prefer to watch something that just tries to be funny and does a good job at it.

>Probably because I'm autistic and won't be able to remember the show two weeks later.
Then you'd be better off not watching the new Twin Peaks anyway.
I suppose that's understandable most of the time but television is also something where serialization is part of its nature. And Lynch is the kind of director that really grabs whatever medium he's working in and stretches its formal limits however he likes. It might seem like he's making an 18 hour long surrealist film but I think he's probably working with that aspect of serialization in mind. That's why getting Twin Peaks serialized could provide a different kind of experience that I wouldn't want to miss out on.

I am not talking about "ironic" viewing.
I am saying that there could be elements that are genuinely interesting in a show that you find overall bad depending on your preferences.

Guess the anime, blah blah blah. No one's gotten more than 7/9 before. Contains anime from:

I'm pretty much the same but I do understand the social appeal. I get bored when I watch bad shit alone but watching it with friends is quite fun.

I get it, but then I think a creator would also take into account the fact that some people might get to watch the thing only some time after its release. Plus if while watching it, it'll seem fitting to watch it only once per week then I can do that as well.
Well, then I might watch it, if I feel that element will be enough to take me through the whole thing. Though I don't really seperate liking/disliking and good/bad as much as lots of other people do. What I meant though is that I'm by now rather able to predict pretty well that it will be so. So it's more that I don't just watch random stuff, force myself to watch 10 shows a season or will go with someone else's judgement if it seems to be contradictory to what my gut is telling me. Since I've went back to being more selective I've been overall enjoying my japanese animees a lot more.

Post it user. I love 3x3s with some shitty shows as long as it's obvious you've seen a lot of anime and aren't just posting the first 9 shows you watched.

3/3 I really need to get around to watching Inferno Cop.

2/2

The length is the only thing keeping me from watching it.

I haven't watched any series longer than 50 episodes aside from Ashita No Joe and LOGH.

Then read the manga. It's only about 160 chapters long, roughly the same length as Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency or Stardust Crusaders.

It's kind of badly written actually. Tenma just travels from one exposition dump to the next. We never really explore the background story, it's just some random new character explaining it to us.

Who's the qt from on the bottom left?

Y from Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita.

Same person.

Also ASKING for recommendations is against the rules, not giving them.

I wish 3x3 trolls would just fuck off. Shit's been a part of Sup Forums culture for almost a decade.

3/3, what's so great about SOL moeshit? I mean, I'd masturbate to k-on, especially Tsumugi, but I've never been interested in watching it.
4/4, Kenshin, Eva and HxH are all great and I respect Berserk
Gurren Lagann is amazing, Kill la Kill is good and has good characters but is a more shallow experience

It's also worth saying that Dragon Ball is more amazing than most will ever get it credit for, with many people's view of it being tainted by a poor anime adaption's filler and a fledgling distributor's shit dub. Manga and Kai are amazing, as are the fan cut of DB and hopefully Kai.

Only came to this thread because of OPs autistic rambling which is slightly more autistic than what is typical of 3x3 threads, but this aesthetic is nice.
