US Military

Redpill me on the US Military. I'm 26 and thinking of a career in the military, despite having finished grad school for the private sector. The idea of getting a 40, 50, 60 hour a week desk job bores the fuck out of me.
Anyone gone this route and have any advice? Would it be tough to get a private sector job after leaving the service? Any insights on which branches are more worth aiming for?

Go as an officer, you will be getting yelled at by 20 year olds if not. Also don't wait, cut off for Marine OCS is 28. The military is ROUGH on your body, I went in at 18 and lost an inch and a half in height from all of the gear I had to hump and I'm half deaf. There is a reason most career grunts look mid 50's when they aren't even 30

> I went in at 18 and lost an inch and a half in height from all of the gear
This, In Sophomore year in highschool I was 5'6 and 3/4 and 5 years later after doing a shiton of labor work in the North Dakota country side I've lost an inch of height.

Yes goy please be a servant of israel

>The idea of getting a 40, 50, 60 hour a week desk job bores the fuck out of me.
That describes a good 80% of military jobs

Im 18 and contracted for Marine Corps, pretty sure youre still within age limits. Google your nearest OSO and give them a call. If youre smart, you can aim for an aviation contract.

You're an idiot or you're lying if you want to join the military after receiving your masters.
/8 years in the military after dropping out of college because it was "boring"

Great way to save money if you can do it right.

>26
you're too old don't bother

Be prepared for bullshit 99% of the time, working above/for/with absolute morons and children who have never done anything else with their lives and severely lack perspective.

Also, be prepared for 40/50/60 hour work weeks, unless you go coaat guard. Actually, go coastguard.

>t. former marine infantry

>Implying going Navy/Air Force OCS for a pilot slot wouldn't be great.

Fuck that. I went dark side and it's gay once you're done with command. Got out by O-3. If this kid is serious, then go enlisted and try out for shit. You're only 26. If you have a post-graduate degree, though, you'll be smarter than everyone around you no matter which way you go; as a junior officer (21-23) or enlisted (late teens early 20s), so getting annoyed is in your future regardless. Never lost height myself, but definitely lost some hearing and my knees aren't great.. I'm only 30. But I'd do it again, no question.

What's the degree in most importantly. It all depends on what you want to do after the fact. I love every minute of it in hindsight, but at the time I was miserable. Being treated like a child sucks, but it teaches you patience i guess.

The military is boredom 90% of the time even in combat arms jobs.

Planning on joining the navy as an ET. Maybe going into nuclear if I can pass all the tests. Any anons have info they can share on this path? Is it a good idea for an electrical engineering student?

considering we're probably doing ww3 soon, unless you get assigned to the bunker detail, you're probably going to be killer AI drone fodder or some other such technological atrocity

personally, I thought about it too, but I think chances are better if I can independently navigate to the south pole for safety in the event of ww3, god willing

Dont do it. Your not too old though, but they're still looking for diversity so if your white and male you may be outta luck. But the worst time to be in the military is during peacetime. It'll be boring and your still working over 40 hours a week

It's fucking lame. Hard ass work, and you'll get talked down to by assholes younger than you. No sleep, working in sorry conditions, no showers for weeks at a time during field training (which is more often than you think). However, if you put the time and effort in, you can make a very good career out of it. Guard sucks ass, but prove your worth, pass your PT test, and you'll get a cushy AGR job if you apply for one. Active duty, just don't pick a combat arms MOS unless you like life sucking, and hearing things go boom.

well if you go in the military your gonna serve the old rich elite

No. Don't be a fucking nuke. It's a trap

>5'6" 3/4
>3/4
Lmao, the absolute state of manlets.

Join border patrol with me, OP. Apply for BORTAC after 2 years of service, and be a sweet border patrol operator.

I'm also 26, it'll be fun.

Do NOT go ETN. Or nuke at all, literally being a CS is superior.

no shit BP is the way into the govt. if you want to be on the operational side. Super easy requirements right now and tons of vacancies.

There's better paying govt jobs

Nukes have the worst lifestyle in a community that has the worst lifestyle.

It's a trap.

I’ve heard nothing but bad things from nukes. But those $90,000 reenlistment bonuses gotta be nice. I went Aviation, and I love it.

>smart
>USMC

user...I...

Unless you're going infantry don't waste your time. Chances are it'll be a desk job except pays much less than what u were doing before

Become a officer, AF is cozy, Navy is comfy, Army is bothersome, Marines is hell.

If you can't maintain a physical capability of running a 300 pft as a officer you are dog shit pretty much, for Marine standards. Other officers will fuck with you and taunt you, and the enlisted will disrespect you.

I saw land whales as female officers in the navy.

The bonus really isn't worth a shitty shore duty at Prototype

Every branch will accept him at that age. Go back to COD.

Go be an FT on a fast attack. Or go be a civilian since you haven't already sold your soul

>spoiled manchild who took 8 years in "High School 2.0" wants to join "High School 2.0 with Guns"

you cant go wrong, but you cant go right either. military has been historically for the pleb.

I'm considering navy officer, seems comfy, downside it won't prepare me for ww3 or the right wing revolution

What the bitches biscuit is going to cause WW3? I prep but I keep hearing it's going to happen so often my mind just doesn't register it anymore.

Can you guys convince me yet again why being in the Marines is stupid as fuck.

Only wanna join to be tough.

>The idea of getting a 40, 50, 60 hour a week desk job bores the fuck out of me.
Then you'll love working an 80-100 hour a week desk job while wearing a shitty velcro uniform.

because Marines are stupid as fuck

>You're an idiot or you're lying if you want to join the military after receiving your masters.
What Grad school did he did, he might be able to get a direct commission and do some super-cool shit.

Veterans have some pretty sick resources to find jobs when they get out. I know a 22 year old pulling 90k at the Pentagon. There are also a lot of tech companies hiring former military mechanics and electricians to maintain there server farms for good money.
At your education level, you may want to consider looking at DOD careers, unless you just want to get thrown right back into studying for whatever vocation the military convinces you to sign the bottom line for

You dont have to bend over for the (((elite))) to be tough. I know the scraps that are actually less than they offer look tasty but your selling youthful years of your life so the globalist machine can keep turning.

21 y/o fat loser with a miserable job here. Should I do it?

Thanks anons yet again for keeping me out.

>Worst living conditions
>Hardest bootcamp
>Camaraderie is a meme
>Chowhall is shit
>Bases are shit
>Expect to be constant bitched at
>Welfare queen niggresses

Enjoy feeling tough while you sit at camp lejeune for 4 miserable years

How miserable?
Is it 100 days without sunshine miserable?

I mean going in the army as infantry.

Branch doesn't matter much. If you want to see the world and see combat, go special operations or not at all. Do not listen to anyone who tells you "just being infantry is good enough" they probably quit their selection. It's really not that hard. Just be in shape enough for the requirements and don't quit. You will be dumbfounded by how many guys who are bigger, stronger and faster than you will quit for no reason when it's not even hard.

Do it. You'll be a better man when it's finished.

You have already fucked up by going after school.

The GI Bill as a benefit is easily worth $150,000 tax free. If you went when you were 18 you would earn effectively $80k/year pretax once you count the benefits.

The military is not a delayed adolescence like your graduate degree was. It's not a method to avoid growing up it forces you to grow up or burn out fast.

Just be a supply officer in the Navy. You can be a piece of shit desk jockey in a spiffy uniform. Spend your days don't fuck all, retire, and then open an Amusement Park. Also, take drawing lessons.

Going infantry or marines is the biggest mistake you can make in the military

Unless you want to go Spec Ops than there's no room for growth and sustainability
Choose a technical field and go Navy or Air Force. You'll have a comfy desk job and will be making decent money with great benefits in 5 years

How much do you like sand?

Opinions on Coast Guard?

Id like to go into law enforcement (local or ICE) after.

anyone in here get turned down for Navy enlist or Navy OCS for shitty credit? I'm thinking of aiming for Suppo through OCS, am on the verge of bankruptcy but am in such shit financial situation I can't even afford it.

Don't want to be stuck in coast guard when it happens.

The money and opportunity when you're out is great. You WILL work up to 20hr days regularly. You will probably develop a drinking problem.

t. MMN

Should have got picked up staff, then you never have to go back lol

And 90% of the time spent in the nondesk jobs.

the ron paul happening or the big happening?

I had a sergeant in the infantry who spoke 4 languages and had a masters degree, pretty sure he is a Raider (Spec Ops) now

Im just gonna post here so its not all burger flags

U mean the (((US military))) U.S is a Goyim Breeding program

edge

Die for them shekels goyim faggot

yes its definitely a good idea to put yourself in a violent bureaucracy that destroys your free will and capacity for individual thought (by design). that way you can go protect and expand israeli/wall street investments. i mean defend our freedom from foreign subsistence farmers.

No foreign nationals without an escort

>be you
>go to OCS
>get private quarters on land, get semi-private quarters on water
>get the best of everything, most of it free; while you make okay money, get free training/education for other disciplines
>fight the urge to get married until you are beyond the 10-year mark (yes, that is the discipline)
>rise far and fast
>retire/double-dip
>get with a group of comers and grow old with them
>never want for anything
>yw

Wow that's an original excuse on Sup Forums. Faggot

That would be a terrible idea. I enlisted right out of highschool and was training and deploying during prime GWOT time. Had a blast getting cool schools, certs and quite a few combat deployments. Got out at 30 because it started to suck.

You missed the boat faggot. Have fun in garrison.

It's also a young man's game. You will hate life and your subordinates will hate your well educated know-nothing ass.

What do you guys think about the Coast Guard?

Your average marines arent tough. I have two close friend who just got back and I'm as 'tough' as them

And you're a dull edge, a fucking blunt if you deny it.

:'D

If they are in the Corps and aren't infantry, EOD, or Raider/ Recon they might as well be in the navy...that being said, Marine grunts are still a lot more squared away than army REMFS

coast guard isnt a real branch of the military

So you're willing to put your life on the line for Israel? Haven't you learned any better by now? If you want something other than a desk job, and I certainly understand you in that regard, try getting some manual work for a while, see how it works. Many wil yell trades at anyone asking, but you'll just have to deal with shitty people and a lot of minorities in most trades. I unironically would recommend getting some minor job with a farmer during the summer. Most people who talk shit of rural life have never had a taste of it themselves.
With all of the above said, isn't 26 kinda late to take that decision? I know this whole career rant wasn't what you asked for, but doing something such as the above is better than being sent to some desert shithole with a bunch of niggers and spics fighting for jews.

going officer is a desk job op

t. E-4 mafia

This thread is about military service. Take your boating club bullshit somewhere else

the most underrated branch, you'll get to raid shitskin vessels looking for drugs and rescue stacies who get swept out to sea, Coast guard is the Chad branch

1 post by this ID.
Common slide thread
Enjoy the circle jerk

you are so fucking retarded it almost physically hurt me

DO NOT go nuke. Nukes are the butt of every joke cuz they are all so fucking autistic. Literatlly just a bunch of fucking weeb trash

>3/4

Fucking manlets are the worst

Do you wanna die for Israel? No? Then don't join the military.

A Staff Sergeant does the same job as a 2nd LT for a fraction of the pay although, if you want to make a career and not totally destroy your back/knees it's really the only way to go unless you hate yourself or you are Spec Ops...in which case you probably hate yourself and have a fucked up back and bad knees

Do air force or navy. And get a desk job.
The military will fuck your body up if you do something stupid like infantry.

yea but at least some staff sergeants do cool stuff(depending on MOS).Lt's are always in the office or sitting on their laptop overseeing the real training. OP doesn't want a desk job he wants to kill his back/knees i guess

After leaving the military, you can pretty much get any private sector job you want, you can even get State jobs

if he doesn't die instead

Do it you fuckin Pussy. Fuck all the intellectual bullshit. Think about your life and the experiences. I don’t regret single fucking thing about the Marine Corps. I got to travel a shit load. Fucked hoes in every country I went too. Thailand is DOPE shit btw. Made the best of friends. Whom I stay tight with to this day. I’m not old at all but in this small town where I live. My biggest advantage is having a shit load of drinking and stupid shit under my belt and out of my system. I’m making things look easy where the college boys can’t commit to a apprenticeship. Think long term bro. Marine Corps will prepare. Enlisted or officer. Fuck it. Do it.

>it's a young man's game

gosh, you all really do suck each other's dicks don't you

I turn 26 tomorrow, think about it every day.

I don't think later in your twenties is that big of a deal, people join at all ages.

looking at an 11x option 40 contract, rangers go out every 6 months and actually do shit.

It doesn't bother me really desu

My dad was CG. He loved it till the last four or five years of his career. Got stationed somewhere gay with mostly retarded superiors.

I guess it's all kinds hit or miss. Other user is right though, he's told me several cool ass stories about being under way back in the day..

Once, he didn't sleep for 56 hours, so that's pretty shitty.

Fuck the Stacie’s. Imagine killing a bunch of Cubans on a yacht

>trades
can confirm trade school is a meme
kinda hope when ww3 starts, they drop the first nuke on my school

Dude you'd better join like now, most Rangers are 24 and that's AFTER doing 4 years in the Airborne. Make sure you get RASP on your contract, good luck

could be any number of things. Israel is looking like a prime front for hostilities soon, involving Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, the territories, and beyond

there are other possibilities (india/pakistan, etc.)

Yeah, it is a younger bunch. I got friends in battalion still and since trump got in office they've been killing everything since.

army= ain't ready for Marines yet. And the meme that Marines are dumb...well it's true, but seriously soldiers are dumber. Lower physical and asvab requirements, look it up if you don't believe me. Nice things vs being a warrior. Army medics are retarded and many are so undertrained they can't properly do an IV (source: my army medic cousin) vs most navy Corpsmen (USMC medics as we use sailors) are guys who got hurt in the SEAL program. You will never go anywhere without CAS (and our own, we don't have to rely on the fucking Air Force who leave solders shit out of luck many times)
