They don't look cancerous to the eye, which is supposedly Sup Forums's problem with CG, and they're also very expressive. The CG is not a barrier to getting into them unless you have an irrational hatred of CG.
It's not about impressive CG animation, it's about using CG in a way that's not jarring like the typical out of place 3D machines/monsters/NPCs being poorly blended into an otherwise 2D environment. The animation in KF was laughably bad, but the show was still pleasant to look at.
