Overly religious parents force their kids out of the church. Overly protective kids force their children to experiment with drugs or sex. I have to imagine that if your parents insist on injecting politics into every experience of your childhood then that also is going to have the unintended effect of molding your political beliefs towards naughty thoughts.
The problem with raising your kid this way is that you go through life telling them that anything they do that you don't approve of is horrible, they eventually rebel and try something benign that goes against your beliefs, like having a beer, making out with a boy, etcetera. They will of course realize it's not that bad, or dangerous, or whatever they were told, and to top it off, you never actually knew what you were talking about in the first place, you were just bigoted - and now you've lost them. Not only did you lie to them their entire lives about how bad life would be if they went astray, you've also deprived them of their agency. Kids don't know what agency is, but they know that you've been lying to them to prevent them from trying things on their own and experiencing life.
Don't lie to your kids. Be a responsible parent and let your child grow and develop into his or her own person.

There's no battle ahead -- the war was lost years ago. I'm 52 and the brainwashing was really pretty complete with my generation.
