English Americans and WASPs

Why aren't English Americans a thing? Irish Americans are incredibly vocal about being Irish, they even fund the damn IRA and pretend they're Irish whilst butchering the language. Scottish Americans are also super proud. Italian Americans are ultra proud of their heritage.

The fuck happened to the Anglo Saxons? Americans always try to find some Viking ancestry but seem to show 0 interest in Anglo Saxons. How come? The best Americans were all Anglo: Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Lee, Grant, Sherman, Madison, etc. So why no Anglo pride?

Not a lot of Anglos left minus the ones in Utah and New England. The Southern Whites have negro ancestry thus they don't count as true Anglo Americans.

What matters most is why a Brazilian cares about any of this

I'm Italian Brazilian (4 Italian grandparents) and proud of it. Wondered why Anglo Americans seemed so indifferent to their heritage in comparison.

Because if we don't really return to European immigration to the states with something like RAISE. Then America will become another Brazil or just break apart entirely.

Truth. I can already see the first Favelas starting in America, those homeless camps in LA are the beginning.
Don't let them do this to you America.

Most white Americans are German or Irish. The English are a small minority, there are more Polish-Americans than the English. Remember the USA used to be a dumping ground for all the shit tier nations from Europe

This is one good thing about living in a cold climate. Less bums laying around.

Do you plan on moving to the states if the Trump-like person loses the election? The RAISE act might help you to come on. Just don't go to states that are under 75% white.

I heard that's a false stat. Apparently most Americans whose ancestors were there before 1776 put their ancestry down as "American" which decreased the English number.

Also, the 1980 census placed English as the biggest ethnic group at 40 million, but in 2000 they dropped by 20 million for some reason.

Nah, either to Italy (have cousins and their families there for connections) or staying here because desu I don't think I would adapt well in another culture.

You think there are more Poles than English???

Census demographic information is self-reporter. One of the largest ancestry groups you will see simply says "American". This isn't Amerindian tribes- these are people of English descent who have been here for centuries, and just list their ethnicity as American.

Americans worship victimhood and the English aren't victims outside of Sup Forums.
This is why Braveheart was one of the cleverest movies ever. It convinced generations of Americans that Scots were actually colonised victims instead of bandits and conquerors.
Also the whole war of independence thing.

I’m an English American and I wouldn’t want to have any other ancestry. The English are god tier.

>Southern whites have negro genes
Nice shitpost.

Fuck off m8! you aren't even white

Because the vast majority of White Americans have some form of Anglo Ancestry. Our entire culture is based on Anglo-Saxon principles of justice and liberty. Theres nothing exotic about it, thus no real pride taken in being an English American. It would be like a brazilian taking pride in being a monkey.

My family came from the Liverpool area in 1703. We aren't English American. We are fucking American. We settled, conquered, colonized, and built this nation.
The English are still my cousins and id fight and die next to them any day of the week.

Because "American" is just a form of english. As a result there is no separation of the two, american is just "english across the channel". An english person born in meriga is literally no different to someone born there prior to the 18th century, except maybe less mutt. So they get absorbed into the derivative identity instead of their ancestral one, unlike the germans or the irish.

>Why aren't English Americans a thing?

it probably became unpopular around the time of the war of independence. after that anglo-americans would just call themselves american or go with any other ancestry they have.

this.

(((British Anglo)))
Nice try Sir Richard Schlomo III

And some of us he'd even accidentally shoot
>friendly fire n all that

friendly fire between the US and bongistan is one of our oldest traditions. Come on bro, its just a joke!

Because being English or American is virtually the same thing. Same exact people, so no point in being redundant.

I heard one time in afgahnistan there was a two day pitched battle involving british and american troops before someone realised there was no enemies around

there are tons of angloboos in the US, history departments in our unis are full of them.

I never went to the Stan but i feel like this story could be true in the beginnings of the war. When I joined in 2006, it wouldn't have happened.
there was definitely friendly fire issues in the beginning of the war.

are the numbers on that map rising? i swear the last time i saw it they were way lower.

Because a Anglo-Saxon american is a natural state of being, it is basically become native to America there for has no need for a fake homeland

>Scottish Americans are also super proud.
I've never heard anyone refer to themselves as a "Scottish American." The terms English American, French American, and German American are uncommon mostly because these groups have been here for several hundred years. Over time you start to identify more with the American part and less with the prefix.

I think the same is starting to happen with Italian-Americans and Irish-Americans, too. These were much more common terms in prior generations, but if you referred to a 25-year old with the last name McCormack as an "Irish-American," I think he'd give you an odd look

If they came from Liverpool you're probably a mix of Irish and Chinese. Sorry to break it to you O'Houliwang.

They were ulster scots that lived in Liverpool. I have a "McBlahblah" family name.

>I think the same is starting to happen with Italian-Americans and Irish-Americans,
except they still go on about "The old Country" but Anglo-Saxons would not give a damn at hall what happens in England

No german americans post ww2 would care about "muh old country".

Have you ever heard of the term WASP? They love their ancestry. Most Americans enjoy being whatever descent they are.

Ones with old ancestry probably put 'american' on the census. Also WASPs literally larped as english nobility, especially in the gilded age when America was overtaking britain in wealth. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Atlantic_accent

I have an English ancestor who was here since the revolutionary war. I also have a great grandfather from Sweden. Sweden just seems cooler.

Although I really like Felicity Jones and have the same eye color as her.

England fucking sucks.
I'm not proud to be of English descent because it's an Orwellian Paki police state. The weather and food suck. I'm more proud of my Slavic side than English.

Because when you've been in a country for 400 years as the English have, you cease being English or a hyphenated American and you are now just American. This began as early as the 1750s. This is the only country we know and have no real connection to any far off land. Same goes for the Dutch who settled in the early 1600s. They are now not Dutch-American. They are American. Same for the Germans and and Scots-Irish. And now same for many of the Poles and and Central Europeans that came over in the 20th century. They are raising offspring that are American only.

>and have the same eye color as her.

mine are the same colour too. penis hi-five!
