11 year olds watching nichijou? I think not

Go back to school and learn the difference between 15 and 10.

>being this retarded
>not realizing 2007 was 30 years ago

Nobody watched Nichijou.

How can you cay that when it's 2037 and insulting other people is a hate thought crime punishable by death?

How can you say anything? People haven't spoken since thought broadcasting brain implants became mandatory in the year 2086

The invention of time travel fucked up a lot of things.

>Rebuild started a decade ago
>3.0+1.0 still isn't out

Christ almighty.

>using base ten
Ehhhhh!? Base ten? Only elementary schoolers use base ten. How lame.

10 in base 15 would still be 10 though.

It's taking so long because it's going to be absolutely i-incredible!

I swear if it doesn't come soon I'm gonna shoot someone in the head

He clearly calculated it in base 6 though. and then rounded it when converting it mentally to base 10.

I want to see Nia's butthole.

Woah, all that shit I avoided.

Get in line.

So you have shit taste?

Is it just me or are the ages fucked?

I'm 21 years old and one of the first anime I remember seeing are Sailor Moon.

Sup Forums version of you.regettingold.com when?

>Ranma
>Nadia
>Sailor Moon

>Closer to the Moon Landing than the present

F-fuck. Fuck. Fuck I feel old.

The first anime I remember was walking up to watch Astro boy and Big O at 4:30 and 5 AM on adult swim.
I cant even remember how old I was but it had to be around 8

You think Simon ever got bored of being a nobody hobo and started actually living again?

Maybe he went and raped Yoko, impregnating her too.

Where's my Gunsmith Cats adaption Netflix?

Same here except it was Death Note

Why do I not remember Nia ever being half-topless?

Beats me, it happened in both the TV series and movie. In the movie you even got to see her nipples.

>over 35
Fuck you, whoever made that. Fuck you.

He's planting flowers around the world for Nia user, and helping people when he can

You were too caught up in the fight to check her out

The action is so good that you don't give a shit about the fanservice.

Yes, but consider that GL 15 had over 22000 frames of animation, whereas an important episode in your normal series has around 12000.
I think it still equates to GL's being superior even against a 52 episode animu because even by normal standards it is so infinitely superior.

Anime as a whole is garbage, at least animation wise.

Wow more than twenty years ago?

How the time flies.

but why did they have to lewd Nia for this sequence?

If men can be shirtless why can't women?

>tfw 3 years ago was 12 years ago

because they have intentionally avoided lewding her up until this movie?

This is from the TV show. Also, Nia is too innocent to realize that this is lewd.

Wait, really? I was sure she was only lewded in the movie.
Ah, well.
You're right about her not realizing it though.
That's the best part.

What the fuck? I thought twelve years ago was only two years ago...

yeah so what , evangelion came more than 20 years ago

Rossiu did nothing wrong and his actions were justified

faggot

kill yourself

I like Gurren Lagann

This is my collection

They did more lewd in the movie though

Her Anti-Spiral interrogation was rape-like, and Yoko lost her space-pants

>tfw unironically don't understand how people can dislike Rossiu in the second half
>tfw unironically don't understand how people think Kamina was anything close to a good leader, other than for getting Simon to stop being a fag and get in the god damn robot
Lordgenome still best character

The only good thing Rossiu did was try to kill himself, and he couldn't even do that. There are no redeeming features to him/

I think Rossiu is an interesting character. A dick, to be sure, but his dickishness at least is explained by and parallels his upbringing and doesn't spring out of nowhere. Even his sentencing Simon to death can be explained by his "There must always be a sacrifice!!" fucked way of thinking. So he's got that going for him.

Kamina was an effective leader who got shit done until episode 8, where his plan would have worked if Simon didn't choke. No, Kamina isn't this super flawless god, but he was a competent leader.

They finally got back to the surface, and Rossiu just wanted to have peace for humanity. Fuccboi Simon wanted to put everyone in danger because he lost the girl he only knew for like 5 episodes. If he didn't have plot power from Kamina's hotbloodness, he'd be fucking everyone over, and it would be no worse than Lordgenome keeping everyone underground to hide them from the Antispirals

>he only knew for like 5 episodes

you also mean 7 years and also his fiancee

He's a good character, I agree, but he's still a piece of shit and a colossal faggot.

I can see how he was technically a good leader, but I don't think there was enough reason for anyone other than Simon and Yoko to cry over him, and naming the city after him is just bananas.

>>tfw unironically don't understand how people can dislike Rossiu in the second half
Understandable

What Rossiu did was revert back to what he knew best. He cracked under the pressure so quick that his first instinct was to do what his village did. This is understandable, coming from a 21(?) year old who, just 7 years prior, left his life living underground as his family did for generations, join up with a group of other cave dwellers who stole some robots, co-piloted the most powerful one after their leader was killed, and took down the king of the world. A lot of shit happened to him, he just couldn't handle it, and when absolutely everything became too much for him, he tried to take his own life. "I Need to Feel the Weight of a Human Life", something he's really never understood since birth

>>tfw unironically don't understand how people think Kamina was anything close to a good leader
>

Yeah, 7 years that were hidden from us in favor of a fucking recap episode. As far as we saw, Nia barely got any development other than becoming a person instead of just a doll. There was reason for her to love Simon, sure, which makes it awful that she gets activated by the Antispiral, but the audience doesn't see enough of their relationship to justify Simon putting all of humanity at risk to fly into space and fight god (imo)

Kamina was the one who gave humans a chance to win, it could've been someone else, and he might not have been the biggest player in the win, but the fact of the matter was that things only happened at all because he busted out of his hole in the dirt and stole a gunman.

If he'd died right after stealing one but the idea still spread out and humans won two hundred years later, they might still name the city after him. That's just how these things happen a lot of the time.

Humanity was fucked anyway, didn't you watch the show?

Agreed. I wish he at least contributed somehow to the final battle. Instead he just becomes president of the universe.

America is named after some random dude, so worse decisions have been made. Also probably Simon got to name it. Don't forget They also changed the team name to Dai-Gurren Dan because no one wanted to piss Yoko off.

Simon got Kamina killed because of a crush on a girl he met probably 4 months/7 episodes ago.

By the time they're deciding to fly to space and fight the Anti-Spirals had declared war on them.

Simon's main "mistake" in the latter half is goofing off while Rossiu was at least monitoring and following up on Lordgenome's warning. To Simon's credit, he put Rossiu in charge.

Yeah, it was good.

So dumb, like so much of the second movie

especially the fist fight

I don't disagree with this at all, but I guess I just don't care for Kamina's personality. I think I had first seen the show immediately after finishing NGE+EoE, and I think I even watched it dubbed (but I honestly can't remember), so maybe I wasn't too used to hotbloodness at the time, aside from Domon in G Gundam, but whatever the case, something prevented me from liking Kamina way back when, and it's harshly affected my enjoyment of TTGL overall, especially since much of the love for the series seems to come from love for Kamina. I watched the show back in 2009, I think, and got around to the compilation movies in 2015. I can't remember my opinion of the show when I first saw it because I was too skewed by meeting self-professed anime fans in college who just liked Toonami-core shit, and I unfortunately began to lump TTGL with stuff like SAO. When I watched the movies more recently, I was able to see the forest for the trees and enjoy the over-the-top mecha action, especially with the new footage the second film adds, but I still won't consider TTGL anywhere near my favorite anime

tl;dr, don't argue with me about Kamina because I'm just too autistic to enjoy TTGL. Gonna rewatch it soon, so hopefully I can stop being a hipster dick about it

what the hell since when was nia this cute

>Simon got Kamina killed because of a crush on a girl he met probably 4 months/7 episodes ago.
Well shit I definitely need to rewatch this because in my head Nia didn't appear until like episode 10 or something, after Kamina died.

You can enjoy the series even if you're not that into Kamina, but on your next rewatch just keep one thing in mind the entire time you're watching it and I'm certain you'll come to appreciate Kamina like a lot of us do.

Kamina has no faith in himself. As a fact that's hidden between the lines, and confirmed by extra material, Kamina never actually believes in himself.

The character takes on a whole different light when you realize that, as do a lot of the events surrounding him and his mark on the series.

Reread my post. I wasn't talking about Nia.

>Kamina has no faith in himself.

I'm not really comfortable with taking it to that extreme. By the time of Ep 1, Kamina certainly has confidence in himself. Is he still "faking it till he makes it"? Yes. But he's a pretty well-balanced individual and leader up till he dies.

I respect you.

Im a gurren lagann connoisseur myself, but I only have the blu ray box set like you and a core drill on my keychain

The only collectible you need is the core drill in your heart

>Not having experienced Marine Boy when you was in diapers

Summerfags

10 years you retard.

I think I remember someone saying that before, and it makes sense in retrospect, but I'll still have to check it out with a rewatch. I think it's probably true that he puts his hope in Simon's hope in himself, or something, so I guess it checks out

Kamina to me always seemed like the team bard. He could do a rousing speech and he could get people to his side but when push comes to shove he takes more of a supporting role because he trusts other people over himself. The longer the show went on the more he would have cracked under the pressure. Because he died when he did he became a powerful symbol instead.

It's also worth noting that while most of the team did see though him, Simon never did see behind his mask. It's a nice touch that comes up later on in that trapped in a dream thing.

>Tomorrow will be fifteen days long yesterday.

>10 years

Sounds like time for a sequel.

>not last decade, but the one before it
This statement bugs me in general. People use decade like this to refer to things like the 80's, 90's, 00's, soon 10's. The way it reads it sounds like those shows came out in the 90's.

Reruns.

>Not aimed at older people
More like whoever did this chart is a baby that hasn't seen Lupin, Cobra or Captain Tsubasa.

>no over 35s section

It wasn't that good

Sadly I think the public ability to comprehend and enjoy a story revolving a more cavalier attitude of weaponry and bounty hunting has significantly diminished since the 90's.

Stories involving the mafia and the breakup of the former soviet bloc countries don't resonate with today's audiences that likely don't remember that time as its 25+ years ago.

It's probably best to use the mangas and OVA's as a time capsule.

It's ok user. You probably have a wife and kids and a nice house by now.

And Nia is still a shit tier character.

Dammit.

Nia > your waifu

yeah and no matter how many years, it's still a getter robo ripoff

...

I'm nearly 30 and the one of my first was Candy-Candy which is twelve years older than me.

>What are you even doing here grandpa

I liked the movies better

I personally dislike the movies, despite loving the series.

Lagann-hen was disappointing af.

Try harder, you almost fit in newfag

But Yoko is an old hag with no kids. She's not even a hot cake or cougar. She's just old.
