Why isn't Fate more popular in the West?

Why isn't Fate more popular in the West?

It's pretty big in the west as well.

Cuz it sux

Because it bastardizes historic/legendary figures, and reduces them to nothing but waifubait

>Because it bastardizes historic/legendary figures
Just like every single fucking Hollywood movie ever.

because its an anime

if it was a netflix series

or if it was an avatar the last airbender mutated half breed cartaanime it would be more popular

but that lable and genre is anways going to be more of a deciding factor on who watches it than the content itself

also who wants fucking normies hogging saber i would actually go on a killing spree if Fate was overtaken by normies

this
the whole female King Arthur thing is weird at first but is easily disregarded thereafter

I can't even imagine Arthur as a man now.
Help

It's fine in Fate where it's a twist halfway through and given a lot of time to develop both the logistics behind it and how it affects her character in the second half, and it's before TM started genderbending every other historical character. Only weird if someone started with Zero where it's "btw King Arthur's a girl, moving on", which, face it, a lot of the west did. And if someone's first experience wasn't even at least Zero then god help them.

>Just like every single fucking Hollywood movie ever
They also bomb horrifically every time Hollywood tries in spite of never going as far as Fate in fucking it up.

It's a good thing that it isn't. Popularity only attracts (((them))) and they'd turn anime into what it shouldn't be.

The thumbnail made me think that the picture was one of those awful MUH PORTRAYAL OF CHARACTERS AS REALISTIC WOMEN things that Love Live suffered from.

Hope you like the flood of secondaries once GO is out in English.

You should be more concerned about SJWs. They sure knew how to protest over nothing.

>tfw you convince your dad that King Arthur was, in fact, a girl

...

more like tertiaries
>mfw tertiaries refer to Archer as "Archer"

I just grabbed your EOP audience with ease.

it's shit

Here, have canon male Arthur and his cute Master.

Powerlevel bullshit.

By the time we got the source material in the west, everyone had already spoiled the major plot twists for themselves through parodies and spin-offs.

The same goes for characters like Luvia. She ended up with a sizable fanbase in the west from spin-offs even though her debut wasn't even translated until a couple of years ago. This lead to the west having a weird second-hand experience with the franchise instead of experiencing it organically.

Because it's genuinely fucking awful.

The west loves powerlevel bullshit, look at their love for DBZ.

You say that as if it isn't flooded with secondaries since Fate/zero anime.

Cause the writing sucks, read a western book and witness for yourself.

Only played the VN and it was just fantasy shit.

it IS pretty fucking popular, right now there are 5 fate threads

An F/SN Hollywood adaptation would be cool to see. Scarlet Johansson as Saber would be absolutely god tier

because it is overflowing with the usual "anime" traits that dont do well in the west

and even despite that its quite popular

because of the shifting genre in consumer's wants between the time when fate first came out and the current trend that is growing more dominant in recent years. Those who like fantasy stories are going to enjoy Fate, but compared to that the market of new consumers and veteran-consumer-trying-new-things is still larger; hence making its apparent lack of popularity

who as Gil?

Vin Diesel
