Dogs protect your home, are always happy, don't transmit diseases and can kill cat invaders. Cats kill native birds and have no natural predators to take them down (domestic cats at least, since they are from Africa - but you don't have a wild cat for the same reason I don't have a wolf).

My one thought on the matter is
It's hard to fuck up raising a cat as they're pretty self sufficient and just need to be fed and have their shit scooped. You just have to learn to read a cats mood so you don't get scratched.
With dogs you have to put in the work to get a good dog. A lazy dog owner that doesn't properly train and discipline a dog will have a burdensome retard yapping, humping and bothering everybody.

Dogs are good too, I didn't say anything bad about dogs, you can have both. Personally I live in a condo complex that doesn't allow dogs, so I have a pair of cats. One calico and one tabby.The calico is like a dog and will play fetch with me if I want. The tabby literally sleeps 18 hours a day but always wants to sleep next to a person for body heat.

It always comes down to who owns the animal some niggers that live down the road from me own 3 pits and they get out of the yard almost daily and scare kids around the block and cause annoyances
