Because I'm afraid to leave the house :^)
I'm not allowed to enter Japan.
Why the fuck would I do that
What did you do?
I don't like to travel. Doesn't interest me.
All of it.
>implying I haven't
So you trashed a koban then
I'm curious. Blogging is okay if it's entertaining, elaborate.
Don't have money
Also i am such a baka gaijin
Well the truth is that there are just too many requirements to get a travel visa in my country. Proof of employment, taxes, expensive tests, etc. I'm never going to make it no matter what.
>living in a country without a tourist visa waiver with Japan
You probably can't afford it anyway.
Arranging the Ghibli museum was a hassle but was well worth it
I only saw it from the outside. How long in advance did you have to reserve it?
Correct.
Sometimes I'm glad that I'll never go there though.
One of my friends actually had the money to go, but when he came back he was almost catatonic. He loved it so much that he couldn't stand living anywhere else. He said that all the time spent no living there was a waste of life. He wasn't even a hardcore weeb.
I would go to Lake Kizaki
I had my aunt in Japan buy the tickets for us two months in advance
I'm not the original poster, but my group bought three tickets two days before our visit from a kiosk at a Lawson a few blocks from our hotel in Shinjuku.
Just do a little online research, it's really not that hard to get tickets.
Well zimbabwe shoots white people on sight. Otherwise I'd go to Japari Park.
I've been to Akihabara twice. Is that good enough?
I think they got over that phase. Now they're begging whites to come back because nobody there knows how basic agriculture works.
Requires me to leave my house.
Its okay though. I can visualize those in my head and visit them there if need be.
They finished begging and are now back to killing, I'd wait till they start begging again before going.
A pity that they killed most of their wildlife due to their self inflicted famines. Use to have quite a bit safari tourism.
The magic isn't there in reality.
Don't have the money for it, yet.
Then there's the issue of planning where to go, what to do, figuring out moonrunes and worst of all, going alone.
Went to Tokyo about 2 months ago.
I will once I get the money. Question is, should I go before the Tokyo Olympics or after? They might hide some of the anime/porn in cleaning up for the Olympics, but there'll probably be some anti-gaijin sentiment after the games also.
Pic related is probably where I want to see the most. Just hope the Chinese tourists haven't ruined it.
There are Chinese tourists everywhere
If you walk around Kyoto during the day on a weekday you'll literally see more Chinese than Japanese people
Go before
They will naturally implement stricter rules and allow less access to places once they are flooded with tourists. Those restrictions will probably linger for awhile
Funny you should say that, I found a site that compiled all the locations in Tatami Galaxy and am planning to see them when I visit Kyoto next year.
I'm not an autist. That's why
hey, im visiting kyoto next year too
I don't usually go out of my way to visit anime related places, but I made a point of taking a picture in front of the kyoani studio. Shinjuku gyoen is just as pretty as in garden of words too.
I'm already here.
My favourite show is Jinrui so I can't do that...
I have seen the bar from Nana though.
and the whole of Matsumoto from Orange.
And... a lot of things.
Hey I went by that today.
What country, user?
I can't go to hell.
Going /out/side is for normal people.
Because I'm white, and they'd make fun of me.
I can't blame them, it must be annoying to be reduced to a funny little country that only retarded autists want to visit
I can tell from your post that people make fun of you all the time.
Just go and enjoy yourself. It's not like a person such as yourself has a profound sense of shame.
>tfw mexicans have better japanese visas than americans
finally this nationality is useful for something
>make fun of
Only if you're max weeaboo. Act with a shred of normality and they'll treat you nice.
Because I'm not allowed to leave the country.
>he tried to make a 3D loli his waifu
Only yourself to blame user.
but im already living in it user
You are close, frighteningly so, to what actually happened.
>wearing polo in noon
Nigga should be sweating buckets now.
I'm scared to even check how much a plane ticket from singapore to spain costs plus army
It's okay though I'll just rewatch the anime for the 20th time
Because i'm afraid to go to a foreign place alone, no friends have the money and desire to travel and even if i had the money i would probably save it because i'm that insecure.
I barely have gone anywhere in my own country.
Jokes on you, I was both in Kyoto and pic related, and it was glorious
If you tell me how to get there I'll definitely go.
Am white, can't confirm. Neither me nor my black buddy were bullied at any point while we were there, so stop being a pussy and go over there
By plane, preferably
My sister and her rich Jewish boyfriend are visiting Spain this August. I'll see if I can get them to hit Cuenca and take a few pictures there.
I can't even afford to take a pilgrimage from Waterbury to NYC like less than 50mi to southeast. The fuck makes you think I can afford a pilgrimage to Japan?
Yeah but that's because they were too busy getting blacked to make fun of you.
*southwest, I'm retarded apparently.
Because I've just been to Japan, I don't have the dosh for a ticket to Spain yet.
What's with all these faggots wanting to go to Spain?
We don't want to be streamfags anymore.
But I did visit Alsace, user.
By the way, 10/10. All the French countryside destinations are absolutely fantastic, unlike Paris. Hit up Normandy and pick up some cheap Calvados before swinging south to the SNW pilgrimage you all wanna do.
is that yakushima?
No, but it's fun when you walk around in elevenland and suddenly there's a scene where you think "That's just like in my chinese cartoons!"
Also, if you're interested in pilgrimmage seek out anime-tourism.com
Too expensive.
Hey Spain is great outside of the obvious tourist hotspots.
Yes
This is said about every country ever. And the fault of this statement is always that tourist spots are tourist spots for a reason: they're the places with things you'd want to see. What's the point of visiting foreign country and going to its mundane places? Chances are those places will be very similar to mundane places in your own country.
I have faggot
I was a feature model in street tune fruit magazine you double faggot
The photographer was named Rei Anami
Not him, but while tourist spots exist for an obvious reason, there are far more places in every country that are worthwile to see and aren't overrun by tourists. Take Tokyo for example, places like Shibuya and Asakusa are a must-see but I saw so many other neat places there like Katsuhika or Yumenoshima in Koto - places nobody ever heard about but offer lots of cool things to see with hardly anybody around. Sure there are lame spots like everywhere, but only visiting the hot-spots really gives you a warped image of a city, let alone a country
Woah user, you live in Waterbury CT too?
Solid post
Because my favorite anime / manga are mostly all fantasy or generally 100% fictional. Even the towns mostly fictional.
But if I could go on a pilgrimage to "insert fantasy world" then I would.
...
Reality is so much better once again
>tfw walking from Ueno to Okachimachi through Ameyoko and seeing other foreigner faces completely disappear from sight
>Hey let me take photos in overcast autumn instead of sunny summer, that will definitely be a fair point of comparison!
Exactly this. It's like most tourists only move on railways.
Out of all the things in the world to get mad about, why get mad about this?
Not him, but it's understandable. The comparison is immediately off because of the atmosphere and trees, if the photographer cared he'd have came two or three months earlier
>Because i'm afraid to go to a foreign place alone
But that's the best part of the deal, just spending your days however you want in a foreign country is the comfiest thing ever. And Japan is pretty much designed for comfy exploring with all those side alleys, random tiny shrines and urban sprawl all over the place
Different colour temperature which immensely changes the whole atmosphere, plus the trees have no foliage.
Colour filters are used for a reason, the overall tint of the image has a very strong effect on its perception.
Why do you think all those shitty raging frog images are tinted red?
Oh shit, your own Marugame photos?
Lucky bastard.
Ghibli museum was stellar. Aesthetic was on point.
My kids really enjoyed it. Made them feel like they were heroines in a Ghibli movie.
>Your kids
>Kids
>Heroines
You have at least two lolis and haven't offered to share?
>tfw too old to go into the Nekobasu playing area
I had an awkward conversation about war in Oarai (where Girls und Panzer was set) with some women who were alive during WWII when I wandered into a community centre in search of lunch.
Another guy when I asked him politely said he was fine with the town being plastered with GuP stuff but said he wished it wasn't in the local shrine as well.
To be honest, it made me feel like a heroine too.
Yeah. Unfortunately there isn't much to do in Marugame other than visiting the castle and eating udon, Kanonji has way more interesting stuff.
Really? I'd expect it to be more interesting, since it's a bigger city than Kanonji, if I recall?
I want to go back to Takehara
It is bigger, but that's partly because it has a lot of industry and commercial areas. Whether it's interesting or not always depends on what you want to see, though. E.g., Marugame has some museums that I skipped entirely. But who knows, maybe those are actually really cool.
When I visit Japan someday I want to visit as many hot springs as I can. I've never been to one and they always looked so much more relaxing and cool than the hot tubs we have in the states. I've never made a list of which ones I would see though. Anyone have recommendations?
Hakone. I went there once and it was glorious. Easy to reach from Tokyo and the landscape's awesome, too. Other than that, onsen in Hokkaido are cool as well
He should go back and lose his passport.
>DESIGNATED WALKING STREET
There will always be someone having it worse than you
Kurokawa onsen is full of pretty high-class, great places. Zao Onsen up north has a nice rotenburo. Kusatsu Onsen is also pretty easy to access. Kinosaki Onsen is great for hopping around all its baths with the onsen pass the ryokans give you, high quality too.
Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is also a pretty amazing place a bit outside of Tokyo but access is a bit tricker, and it's just one resort.
