More Adult's Working SOL
I really loved Servant x Service.

Normal everyday life in a non idealistic rose tinted way.

I'd love if there were more historical anime that were everyday life based too.

/thread

Just more adult protagonists in general. Surely there's humor in using older characters to satirize tropes from teen-based stories.

Would like a anime/manga about the history of the Ryukyu islands in medieval times, also so,etching about the Ainu.

burakumin and war crimes

non-antromophised animals

More stuff like rescue wings, rather enjoyed that one.

rescue rangers?

Treatment of Ainu people

unit 731 and the rape of nanking and some gook worshiping just to piss off the nationalist.

white o piggu go Home!

Why do Yakuza wear those huge ugly-ass glasses? That one nigga in Yakuza 0 really has me perturbed by them.

changes the way your face looks.

I really love watching Japanology and it's just crazy how almost any niche little thing in Japan has this storied and varied subculture. Japan is just full of little niches that are underappreciated and can tell interesting stories. But so much of anime is just set in a highschool or fantasy world or near future and doesn't have any basis in real world subculture or niche knowledge, it's all made up, idealized and homogenized. This is what Miyazaki meant when he hated how anime was made by otaku now, people only interested in anime referential to anime.

That obviously has it's appeal, I too like harems and CGDCT, but I still wish there were more anime about characters involved in the particulars of a real hobby or subculture. Dagashi Kashi is a good example of this, that was like watching some lewd anime version of "Unwrapped". It's proof of concept that even niche or mundane topics can be made interesting with a little bit good character design and story telling. Shirobako also comes to mind. It's an anime about anime but what makes it interesting is that it's about characters actually working and the challenges and stories they encounter. Surely a similarly engaging story could be told about people that make hot water bottles or restock vending machines? The niche is what can make it novel, but it needs good story telling to be of any quality. Glasslip is a good example of a recent failure in this regard.

In short, I'd like to see more of Japans "specific life", the aspects of things that are what very few go through or are interested in but can be shared with many, instead of more common or generic fantasies and experiences.

The imperial family. It's almost like they don't exist in anime, no matter what time it's set in. It's always just the shogun or foreign courts.

Watership Down as anime never

You aren't allowed to show Allah

A sign of respect is what it is. The Imperial house is also pretty much irrelevant in modern day Japan. It's being left alone, once again, out of respect.

CLANG

What about college students?

Some Hyouge Mono tier stuff.

also these

Drugs in general, not just tobacco or alcohol

>Ainu
Golden Kamuy's bound to get an anime eventually, it's gotten a bunch of awards.

Good opinion, user.

Bosozoku.
But not cager ones.

i want anime about cute jap girls

Also, GTO doesn't count.

im down with that

This

Japanese Arts

More Kabuki
More Rakugo
More Noh
More Bunraku
More Japanese Film

They have an intriguing way of doing classical and historical arts over there that would be entertaining in the 2D in my opinion. And it also opens the door to a fictional drama setting "behind the scenes", much like how the recent Rakugo one was handled.

???

>And it also opens the door to a fictional drama setting "behind the scenes", much like how the recent Rakugo one was handled.
That was just a josei melodrama that happened to have rakugo as part of the setting though, not a story that was only possible because of rakugo

True, but I'm saying if they were to do more arts anime following that model, I would appreciate it.

Not that the center of the story has to be about them, but that they are a heavily invested portion of the story.

This may sound weird, but sometimes, I'd rather just watch shows where cute girls partake in activities that are also deemed cute in nature. Wish there was a name for this.

im personally sick of the cute genre because it has no depth or actual meaning. I think its why mootikins went out of his way to make a board about /c/ute anime and shit

I agree. Blast the treasonous villain who forces me to watch all of them by gunpoint.

ebin strawman cuck

I know that feel. the villain has his own containment board and yet he finds need to bleed his treacherous ways into my pure and unsoiled home

How about Japanology: The Animation, presented by an anime Peter Barakan and the quirky gaijins, examining specific aspects of japan's culture over the whole country?

anime about bamboo basket weaving

More anime with black humor, parody like in SZS or Jinrui
More economics anime

Anime about a female team of busty highschool lacrosse players who have a relationship with their coach.

People trying to become geinin or people working in the JTV industry a la Shirobako.

>female yakuza are wearing shitty bras instead of a sarashi

What a waste

What is this?

Is Iku-chan the only one who had the balls to make an anime inspired specifically by the sarin attack/Aum?

Aliens and not just cute girls with off color hair. I'm talking Xenomorphs and other things like them.

non ecchi non moe look at shine life

pregnancy

Suicide and hikikomoris.

kill someone while wearing those.
now take them off and change your shirt
see if anyone chases you

Some horror. I know that's very difficult to do with animation in general, but they could just adapt Junji Ito's work or make a Shin Megami Tensei anime.

I really wish there were more horror anime. I know that's difficult to do in animation in general, but they could just adapt Junji Ito's work or try making a Shin Megami Tensei anime.

>Unit 731 SOL

How Japanese people interact with Koreans, Chinese and other southeast Asian people in their country.

Maybe have a terror attack go down in the anime and show the repercussions in a iron fisted police state.

Enjou Kosai. I really liked Hideaki Anno's Love & Pop and I thought during the entire movie that it was pretty much a cgdct but on the real world. In general, anime needs more humanity. It's getting hard to connect with modern anime characters because they act like aliens mimicking human behaviour and unfortunately that's what the audience want.

A fellow aesthete appears.

a portrayal where the japanese admits to their warcrimes and becomes everyone's bitchboi

more loli and gore combined together

animes where there are language barriers where they can't
automatically magically communicate to an unknown nation or person

Hentai + Neko + Anime + Lolis = win

About being non-nip in nip society (hafu, korean, ainu ect.)

I meant i want a hentai like 12 or 24 episodes long full of that

Was Shaman King one of the only series to have Ainu play a somewhat prominent role?

Depression with some irony to it.
I just want more NHK

Golden Kamui, as some user already mentioned, has lots of Ainu characters and information about their history and culture. The mangaka actually has a consultant to make sure all the history and language is correct.

Their porn industry and how it works. I'm interested.

this is some wondrours tapestry
>clangeth

Anything other than highschool life.

>anime Peter Barakan
Fund it

Shonan Bakusozoku.

No subs though, because fuck you.

FUND THIS NOW.

I find his pronounciation of Suhi (Suh- shi) amusing

It really is too much. Any kind of school would be better at this point. College, elementary, school for the blind, any thing

I need more Joshi wrestling in my life
This too

I would say the same thing for work life as well.
I guess fantasy themed animes is the way to go.

It's inevitable for modern Japan to portray highschool life since it's a big part of its society

I want another show in the same vein of this one. It was really interesting having a historical story featuring a Japanese girl in a foreign country.

That or more stuff like Emma.

Japan doesn't have any interesting aspects maybe JSDF wrecking some china mafia or something.

i would love to see the opposite

Id like to see an anime with Japanese Salarymen in a Fight Club type of scenario.

youtube.com/watch?v=MQ86cJJI6kg
China mafia are not that strong right? JSDF fight on you can win.

getting this shit right for once. I legit thought masamune is the evil sword and muramasa is the evil one.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masamune#Legends_of_Masamune_and_Muramasa

oh i thought this was some martial art anime or smth

chinese martial arts are pretty good desu

muramasa is the good one.

For those of you wanting more college/adult life, what are your thoughts on Golden Time?

I found the college setting refreshing, unfortunately it took to the back burner to the romance/drama aspects of the story after a while.

alcohol and drug abuse

Literally who

Not enough Tada Banri

>animes
Lurk 2 years before posting

An anime that takes place at a college, baka!

Shrine maidens and yokais.

College drama works better in 3D than 2d to be honest.
>all these time with nip media
>Sup Forums still dont know how to pick good Jdrama

As much as I like to see these topics as well, probably not gonna happen, at all.

Some hentai titles long and gone have themes like this, but it's mostly one-offs and is not handled properly. I guess you want the serialized ones.

...

isn't that gintama

>neckbelt

What's with japan and their belt fetish? I don't understand.

Koko was absolutely obnoxious. The show would have been so much better without her and her narcissism.

I have mixed feelings about it.

More niggas riding dekotoras

>truck-kun murder mystery

partay
every
night

But to the Japanese, all the stuff non-Japs find niche and interesting is boring.

Glasslip wasn't even about glassmaking. Honestly, I'm not even sure what it was about at all. You can't call it romance, comedy, drama, or sci-fi because it did everything half-way.

Truck-kun got mixed in with the wrong crowd.
