I just finished Battle Tendency and holy shit, what a ride. What can I expect from part three and four?

Disappointment if you want more Battle Tendency. More fun if you can accept the changes.
A complete downgrade from P2 in every way. Animation, music, and everything.
Part 3 is shit, just skip it. Part 4 is ok.
Expect everything, but don't expect much Hamon
Nothing. Different powers, different tone, etc. The only thing that stays the same is Joseph(sort of) and Dio. The new MC is 1000x less interesting to watch than Joseph.
Stand user of the week.
They're also all pretty simple stands.
Around the world in 80 oras
Persona 4

Evangelion
Jesus told me to kill the president
Four balls
>What can I expect from part three and four?
pokemon battles
But doesn't the user get hurt as well
Depends on the power, but yes like 95% of the time
Part 3 is more character focus making some episodes feel not needed ,but the last 9 or so episodes quickly changes in tone
Part 4 is basically twin-peaks meets a slice a life the anime
Things stop being bizarre and become kinda shit until part 6.
...
Part 3 is gonna be a huge waste of time in the middle chunk and will insult your love of part 2, but has some cool fights at the end.
Part 4 is a murder mystery that really kinda fails as a mystery but has some great characters and powers.
I thought Part 3 was mediocre boring due to being littered with throwaway fights. Kudos to David for being able to adapt every fight though.
Reminder: part 3 stands were based on horror films
>part 3
a downgrade, early stands were pretty lame, joseph got nerfed and jotaro isn't nearly as fun
>part 4
return to glory
read the manga if you want to get through part 3 faster, which you do because it's not as good as the other parts but it is very important. it sets up parts 4, 5, and 6, and continues to be referenced after that, so you can't skip it.
If they were, they weren't very scary.
I've seen all those powers with some slight changes done 100x better in a different manga.
>everyone I introduce to Jojo loves Part 3
>every single thread on Sup Forums is chock full of contrarians saying it's bad
Really boggles my noggles.
It came out in the 80's you fucking retard
I'm saying it really didn't do a good job with what it did, as evidenced by other writers. The fact that Jojo came first isn't an excuse. And part 3 was in the 90s you retard.
Part 3 started in '89 idiot.
The fact it came first is relevant because stands get much more creative in later parts. So of course Part 3's stands were a bit lacking.
4>3>5>6>1
>Every Pleb I introduce to an anime thinks it's good
>All the people who have a deeper reference pool think it's not as good
Oh jeez, they must be mindless contrarians.
>It came out in the 80s!
Frankenstein came out in the 30s, but nobody's going to be affected by it the same way. What comes after affects what came before in the minds of people.
Giotto was an innovative painter at the time, but compare him to someone like Ghirlandaio, and his works are not as effective
Araki really doesn't hit his stride with stands until part 5.
8>7>5>4>6>1>>
2>1>6>5>7>4>3>8
shit, I forgot 3, which would be right above part 4, but below 5
Maybe 30-40% of part 3 is good.
pretty boring and slow paced compared to part 2
>music
Bleepfags always have shit taste
Isn't part 4 stand of the week? Why do people like that more than part 3?
3 is better in manga form, don't watch the anime. If you want to watch the anime for part 4, get the BD version since it fixes most of the QUALITY.
The stands got good.
Kakyoin dies.
Don't we all?
4 > 7 > 2 > 1 > 8 > 3 >> 5 > 6
shit taste man
I don't think Part 3 is bad because it introduced stands and the final fight with DIO is great.
But it was way too long, had too many stands of the week, and isn't as good as the parts following it.
Honestly I liked Stardust Crusaders more than Diamond is Unbreakable because in the first there's a clearly defined goal for the heroes from beginning to end, while in DiU many thing happens out of chance and they don't even have a villain until the second half.
7 > 4 > 5 > 2 > 6 > 1 > 3
Pretty similar to mine
7 > 1 > 8 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 6 > 5
5 > 4 > 7 > 2 > 3 = 1
best part. no, scans isnt an excuse anymore.
>part three and four
Generic villain of the week enemies with extremely slow pacing.
If you want to continue the series, just read the manga from now on instead, so you can progress at your own pace instead of wasting time with the anime pacing.
Also here's a spoiler for Part 7's ending. Araki is a faggot.
I bet Tsurugi will die from a fever shortly after breaking the curse
Part 3's Manga drags it's ass too. I recommend the old OVAs for Part 3. Just introduces the cast and skips the unmemorable parts.
Final fight is far better and Za Warudo doesn't sound like an electronic fart every time it happens.
PART 5 NEVER
Also, DIO sounds like an old man whose dentures are falling off and there's literally silence whenever nobody talks cuz there isn't any music either.
The characters and plot were better
Part 3 is really boring right off of Battle Tendency but halfway through it picks up and then that becomes the formula for the entirety of the manga
So, basically, take a break and then come back as if Stardust Crusaders was some completely different series and you should be able to enjoy it more
It wasn't as formulaic and predictable and had a story and characters
The goal for Diu was to protect the town

edit: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger!
As someone who really enjoyed part two, part three is mostly a boring slog with some really good high points towards the end, and part four is mostly pretty great.
It all depends on getting used to the new battle of the week format though
OH MY GOD
OH SHIT
SONOVABITCH
OH NO
characters were more charismatic and even Jotaro improved
Part 3 is complete shit. It made me think the concept of Stands would ruin the series.
Then I watched Part 4, which made me realize Stands were the best thing to happen in Jojo's.
Watch enough Part 3 for setup, then skip straight to when they arrive to Egypt. Watch all of Part 4.
>DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA DORA
>not DORARARARARARARARARARARARARARA
You had one fucking job.
Part 3 switches to a monster of the week format until it gets to a great fight at the end with Dio. It has it's moments but it's one of my least favorite parts of JoJo.
Part 4 fixes everything.
>joseph got nerfed
Nigga can you imagine BT Joeseph combined with Hermit Purple? He'd be overpowered as shit.
Part 4 starts out with a Stand of the Week format but changes into a murder mystery.
The stands are superior and more thought out in 4 while every other stand battle in 3 ends with
>And than Jotaro or Polnareff beat the shit out of the user! Looks like team DIO is blasting off agaaaaaiiiiiin
Part 3 is literally just fighting a guy, then the next ep starts, and they fight another guy
This isn't an exaggeration, this is all part 3 is.
What makes part 8 so good? I see people sperging over it daily here but Ive yet to read much of it. I've read 1-7, btw.
Different powers, interesting challenges, you may enjoy it. As for four, change up in artstyle and it starts a bit slow but you might enjoy it. Give it some time.
DiU was able to recapture some of the part 2 magic with Josuke being a cocky dickhead like Joseph was in his youth
What are some good anime/manga that 'feel' like Part 2?
I'm one of the plebs who started watching the anime for the memes and ended up really loving the franchise, currently reading through Part 5. But while I love Jojo for what it is now, I still crave to watch something like Battle Tendency. Note that I'm not saying it's necessarily the best part it is, fight me, just that it's so different from the next ones that it really left a very specific void in my taste that I need to fill.
why was part 2 so good? Joseph is just so damn likable
