Naruto anime was always good, it was all the god damned filler that pissed Sup Forums off.

Sup Forums hates on Steins;Gate? I remember that almost all the threads seemed to be really positive about the show.

Thought it was great when I watched it. Got me back into anime after a 10 year+ absence but now I look back on it, and following reading the far superior manga, and really it was pretty shit. So it depends a lot on the amount you've watched. It's a pretty good gateway anime into the horror genre though. And the OP and ED are good (I don't know why I liked the last one, but I did).

As an aside, the missus watched it with me and she didn't like it and put her off watching much more anime.

Because the opening made edgy teenagers think it was a deep and mature series. When the manga finally got translated, though, people realized it was actually the very opposite of that.

It really is pretty bad. The whole plot is basically nonsense, everyone conveniently forgets things, it embodies a lot of Japan's biggest writing weaknesses.

There's lots of shit that tries to be "adult" by adding lots of sex and violence, but with Elfen Lied that's literally all there was.

If you're a young kid not used to adult themes though, and you were taken away by the pretentious intro and offhand references to something that might begin to approach something "deep", you could be fooled into thinking you were watching something great.

Its a really good gateway anime for people who think anime is just toonamishit
