I hear a lot of weaboos complaining about their favorite show or manga taking forever to get translated, but why do so few of them bother actually learning the language of their obsession? Beyond "kawaii, baka, etc." It's one thing if anime/manga is just a hobby for you, but especially for people like full time YouTubers who's entire existence is sustained through anime, I can't think of an excuse. If they really cared so much about their hobby/job shouldn't they at least be making some effort to learn its original language? Especially considering how violently they defend watching with subtitles as the one true way. All that aside, being multi-lingual is an invaluable skill, which can get you well paying jobs on its own.
Why don't more weebs learn Nihongo?

They don't. That's why weeb is an insult and not something to take pride in.

They are only into anime to virtual signal how nerdy they are. They don't really care about it.
