I'm 92 episodes into Aikatsu so I don't visit the threads and know about Stars much. Why do people dislike it?

It's a concentrated mass of shoddy writing and characters less endearing, well developed and entertaining than their predecessors.

The ending of season 1 pissed a lot of people off because of what happened not matching what was built up for a few characters and really seemed like bad writing. As a whole the show is pretty good for the most part, but a few certain things sour it.

I miss Aikatsu so much. Stars just isn't the same. I tried really hard to like it but it's a mess and doesn't have even a modicum of the charm the original series had. No other idol anime comes close. PriPara is good, but not as good. iDOLM@STER hasn't been good in a long time. Love Live has never been good. The AKB anime was total garbage.
I just want my Starlights back.
