Is the military a meme?

Is the military a meme?
Im in between doing a trade school/ joining the military
People I know who are is says it sucks and its totally pozzed and miserable
Boomer parents keep pushing me to join because they say the benefits and pension

Any anons feel like chiming in who have been in?

>inb4 dying for israel

I also want to hear from some anons, here's a bump.

Reconcile with God before you join. Once you have the holy spirit speaking to you the choice still be clear.

Wut?

If you get a decent posting, aren't a fucking moron when it comes to money (ie. don't buy a sports car, live on post, don't date a stripper, and so on), and can put up with other people's bullshit and overinflated egos, I say go for it.

Thanks bro maybe reserve is the right way. Get best of both worlds

Finish your trade school; find some kind of civilian job; save your money; buy a little bit of silver every month (for the impending collapse of the dollar); and last (but not least), stay the hell out of the military.

Have you been in?

Have you been in user?

the military can be sort of fun if you get a good post and don't care how boring your job is. Stupid shit like fuel or water can get a big enlistment bonus right now

Join if you want a shitty job that you can't quit and want to work 50+ hours for less than minimum wage. Just save yourself the trouble and become an electrician.

It’s what you make of it like everything in life.

Also know that once you're in, your ass becomes the property of Uncle Sam.

What job did you do?

What do you mean fuel and water?

Don't listen to the military hate. Join but make sure you get a job with a civilian counterpart, aka don't get into a combat job. Take fucking advantage of it.

So I should just go to trade school and save myself the time? Or just do reserves?

Enlisting might be, I think if you go the officer route it can be a great cushy career if you dont mind travelling.

It depends on what you’re looking for and what you want to do. The military can be a good resume builder if you get a good MOS and you get to go places on the government’s dime. But if you want a job after the military you’ll still need an education.

Scored 98 on the ASVAB but I went 40X because I was a dumbfuck kid at the time.

Go reserve for the Army, have them pay for college and commission as an officer after getting your degree. Free college tuition is a blessing, and if youre willing to put up with going to drill on the weekends its completely worth it. After commissioning you can do a couple years and get out if you want to or advance your career as an officer if you like. If you decide to get out after a couple years youve got a college degree and youre a veteran- two things that go a long ways. Yeah, it may not be incredibly exciting, but its a good way to travel to different parts of the world and learn how to manage a platoon of soldiers (leadership experience you wouldnt get as enlisted). Avoid admin MOS's unless you wanna work with bunch of sassy black ladies.

Just join the Air Force of you want the glorified welfare queen experience without actually working hard. Every airman I know says it's easy mode.

Being in the army, you'll either love it or hate it.

After your 3rd or 4th deployment, and the PTSD kicks in, you wish you'd taken the trade school route.

Nah senpai go COAST GUARD

Literally the opposite happened to me. I wanted to do OCS after undergrad but my mom freaked out. Still regret not doing it. But just talk to a lot of people before you commit. Recruiters will hound you if you go visit them. I would do that last.

Dude electricians make bank.

was marine during obama. shit sucked. should be getting better with mattis.

yeah i'd get good with god if i were you

Are you in? What job?

truck driving school
6 week course
$50,000+ first year
be a contributing member of society and not a leech on society's tax dollars

enlisted chair force is also a good option. Easy work, and they have the hottest females.

How much?

Applying for OCS, Although it should be noted the Coast guard has the highest retention rate, job satisfaction, and overall happiness of all the branches of the military. They treat their people well and you wont get deployed overseas.

>got any proofs on these numbers?

>Never see your fucking family
>get hemroids

i'm not going to spoonfeed you faggot - do the research yourself you lazy bastard

So you are saying you have spent 5 minutes in yet you are spouting unquantifyable statistics about a branch of homeland security.

My neighbor works at a cg station and he has to pick up dead bodies (floaters) frequently and he really hates his life

Also have fun never really advancing in the officer field because you didnt go to the academy (my other neighbor is an officer)

Out of all the branches coast guard seems to work their people since there is only 38k people and try to operate like a regular military branch

>have fun spouting bullshit on the internet

Why hemmoroids?

Ok captain never been in enlighten us you little butter bar wannabe faggot? Gonna tell your grandkids how you proudly served your country being the morale officer on a 378? Pathetic little shit.

Sitting on your ass for most of your life, shitty diet, and stress.

Yeah this actually sounds like what other people have told me its like.

What did you do while in?

Kicked in doors and burned shit barrels. Operation Dragon Strike was fun, but Shitcanistan was like purgatory.

Google works. Can confiem 60k in midwest

When i googled it, said truck drivers average 38k a year.

those are different jobs within the army. you've got fuel specialists and water specialists. then you have truck drivers, people in charge of providing ammo etc... these are jobs that literally anyone can qualify for but because they're not exciting not a lot of people want to volunteer for them, so the army offers large bonuses to sign on.

i'm not getting shot at
i sit on my ass and make money
i see the country
i have more money than i can spend.

Thinking of joining TACP, tbqh. No, it doesn't translate to real life, but I don't fucking care. Just seems like a really cool field of work.

Doesnt sound bad. Do you have your own rig?

I was thinking of becoming a water craft operator. That job looks like fun.

company driver. o/o make $100+K a year but they are 1099 and it's a headache. i've been doing this since 2013 and wish i had gotten into this alot sooner. no hemmorhoids.

Seems like an earned paycheck

1099?

form 1099. you are responsible for paying all of your own deductions. that is how spics work as independent contractors and make $18 an hour. if they were to actually pay taxes it would even out at minimum wage.

America's military is a meme, sure. But compared to everyone else it lays desolation unlike anything seen under Gods creation.

>military
>trade school

The only thing these two have in common is that you've got to be insane to be good in it.

Forget the money for a second and ask yourself:

Am I ready to get shouted at and treated like shit for decades until I get a decent grade in the military?

Am I willing to cheat, lie and betray to get my money?

How does that work out all in all? Hows your work rotation?

How is cheating lying and betraying relevant in a trade?

i drive up to 11 hrs a day for $0.45 cpm. i get paid every 2 weeks. my net is around $650 - $800+ per week depending how much i felt like driving. i have no mortgage, alimony, child support, etc. it feels good to walk into a music store and pay cash for a gibson les paul.

Oh, nevermind.

I had a blast in the Army. Did three deployments, got out when I came down on recruiting orders. Used my GI Bill to get my Masters Degree and now I work in the chemical industry. Play it right and you'll be set. Do a three year contract at first, pick a job you want to do. Then if you want to get out, re-up for two years or join the reserves and pick a job that can translate to the civilian world. As long as you're not a retarded fat fuck you can crush a lot of ass, blow people away with machine guns (not sure how the combat situation is now though), and get some decent money. Some days it sucks though, but if you aren't willing to put in long hours and stay physically fit, your life will fucking suck whether you're a civilian or in the service.
