As for France- they (and the UK) declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland to reclaim territories. Hitler claimed the Polish were harming the German communities still there.

The Nazis were seemingly the lesser evil, but ever since the Soviet Union disintegrated the tables have turned. There is guarantee that the Greater German Reich would have done the same.
And even more so taking in mind that Hitler had plans to displace a part of us and germanize the others. Atleast after Stalin died the full russification campaign was brought to a halt, I doubt the same would happen under Hitler.
