It varies wildly. The poorer whites are living in poverty, unable to find work due to government policies which discriminate against them and are unable to leave due to their poverty.

Middle class whites are usually better off, educated and live in areas with high security. But leaving would mean they'd have to start again with nothing in another country.

Upper middle class and rich whites live in gated estates with high security. They can basically afford to live great lifestyles bit always with the threat of crime and being targeted for their wealth. They however usually have the means to leave but won't because their standard of living would decrease dramatically. Though many non Afrikaans whites have dual citizenship in Europe, Australia etc., so they could probably leave quickly if shit goes pear shaped. Though it's harder for them to leave as well as the government is trying to make it harder to take money out of the country (which affects rich whites the worst)

Most white farmers have had those farms in their families for generations and are loathe to give them up. But may be forced to due to the ANCs new policy of land expropriation without compensation.

So depending where you are on the scale your life can be crappy to great. But things are getting worse, racial tensions are escalating (Google hoerskool overvaal). Political parties like the ABC and EFF are becoming more radical and explicitly anti-white. We could probably go from this to civil war in a matter of years or less.

Aside from that, crime is rife. Violent crime especially (home invasion, rapes, murders). Criminals have high powered weaponry and firearms (either bought or stolen from the military or private security companies) or smuggled in through Mozambique.

Unfortunately I'm only middle class. Trying to get my degree and move my family to one of those estates while I work out an exit plan. But yeah, I'm always worried about crime or my family getting attacked. My neighborhood used to be white, but in the last 10 years or so the blacks have moved in. And crime has suddenly picked up in my area. Can't say I feel very safe most of the time, but it is what it is. We can't afford to move right now.

I hope the homeless whites are going to be okay.
I see them as being some of the most vulnerable.
