But yes, main reason was the guy. He was super bland with nothing interesting about him at all. He never had fun interactions with anyone. He was too strong making most fights boring. Even the likes of Natsuru or Ichika were much better because they were so retarded it was funny.

Author kind of realized he fucked up with Ayato and that's why in volumes 9-11 all girls are getting much stronger while he peaked and has no interest entering Festas anymore. Kirin beat a guy stronger than him two volumes ago.
