In the west, not much. Electricity costs twice to three times more and everyone has to buy new cars, it's a little weird for 20-30 years until they accept nuclear power as a necessity but otherwise fine.
The real shit happens in the middle East. Rich Arabs aren't great, poor Arabs are the worst and they'll directly blame the west for the end of oil.

We turn to the second best sources of energy for everything, which as of right now is basically solar farms backed with ion battery banks.
Hydrogen fuel cell cars would probably soar in popularity due to them being generally more powerful than straight electric cars. Currently they already exist and work well, there just isn't enough of a demand since oil is still cheap enough that HFC cars are viewed as "solving a problem that doesn't exist yet".
Third world countries who don't have access to these technologies would suffer extreme unrest and likely chimp out. Countries that are developed but don't have reserves crash and cause a global recession due to their impotence. Countries with reserves continue on, but suffer minor economic challenges caused by the former countries.
The middle east would become a pariah that is viewed as a worthless patch of inhospitable desert.

Plastic is used in almost everything and requires petroleum, what are people going to do about that? Forget about just cars, there's so much more to oil than that. This is one of the biggest reasons the US supports Israel even if politicians don't give a fuck about Zionism they know oil is literally our lifeblood and are willing to start WW3 for it.
