Little Witch Academia

I think the point when this show really started going downhill was when Croix showed up.

how come?

It's certainly when I lost interest. Playing hot potato with the idiot ball, and eating amnesia pills like they are candy.

Agree

It just seems like the jump the shark point

>show is bad because nothing happens
>something happens so it's going downhill

choose one

The show was boring until Croix showed up.

well it got worse then

> Every opinion I see belongs to the exact same people
Some people like slice of life cgdct, some like the magic action scenes. Personally, I think the problem LWA has is that aside from Akkkkko, none of the other characters get much development.

Akko makes a mistake, gets scolded, drags her friends into trouble, Diana shows off, Diana Remoras 1&2 taunt the loser crew, Shariot is timid, but encouraging, Akko doesn't win, but manages an acceptable achievement.
I'm tired of the formula, I'm tired of Diana never dealing with the two girls acting like bullies, and I'm tired of bringing in new characters as the only way to advance the plot.
Really, the art is the only thing that will keep me interested in these characters.

pretty much
>tfw ur fav anime is now shit

...

Ursula should have been more involved earlier on.

just about all that you described is mainly only cour 1 material

it tells me you dropped the series

Yup

paku paku paku paku

Ursala saw a hope in Akko to truly bring the happiness of magic to all mankind, but telling her that shes Chariot would have ruined any hope she had and Akko would have just settled for less. So Ursala kept a lid on the truth and acted as Akko's guide instead.

If anything, the real dilemma is why Ursala wants to keep this matter private. She doesn't want people to know that she discovered some super dark evil secret about magic ultimately draining people, because that would damage the institution of magic beyond the breaking point its already at, destroy the current impasse where magicians accept their practice privately without affecting the world around them, and lastly would see her banished from the magical realm. But that balance depends on all magicians playing by societal norms, more or less.

And thats where Croix comes in and becomes the problem.

i thought you were typoing at first but you misspell ursula's name constantly

I need more coffee.

It's not the appearance of Croix that cause the show to go down hill
It's the Word collection quest that fucked everything
When Ursula plot hook akko into searching the words, half of the cast disappeared, the formulaic episode was even more heavy and linear and akko became even more insufferable if it was even possible

Really it was shitty as fuck

By episode 14, the series did not make me care about any of the characters. And it's not because I don't like slice of life or something, I have watched and enjoyed the entirety of Lucky Star.

Since you have presumably watched the rest of LWA, does it get interesting after techwitch orochimaru SenseiTR's witch Naruto from witch Iruka while witch Sasuke researches in the background?

Croix should have been there in the beginning no reason to have her show up so late, same with the twist

>Some people like slice of life, some like the magic action scenes.
And yet everyone bitches. Or is your point that LWA sucks no matter from what angle you look at it?

i'm not gonna tell you whether it gets interesting or not because you might not find it interesting just like i don't find feet nor dickstomping interesting

>Akko makes a mistake
not often, though one mistake does almost cause her to lose her potential ability to fly
this particular scene also seemed to get people to dislike akko but i didn't have a problem with her here
>gets scolded
hardly ever see interaction between her and teachers in 2nd cour
>drags her friends into trouble
protip: her friends are hardly with her 2nd cour
except for like episode 16
>Diana shows off
doesn't even happen at all
>Diana Remoras 1&2 taunt the loser crew
happens maybe once in the first couple of episodes of the cour and rarely show up afterwards
but they also thank her once later down the road
>Chariot is timid, but encouraging
explained in the latest episode's revelation
>Akko doesn't win
there are no competitions here, just unlocking words, so as a matter of fact, she does "win" here
>Diana never dealing with the two girls acting like bullies
which rarely happens in cour 2 (probably because diana is not prominent storywise until episode 19 and 20 (her arc episodes) and onward from there
hannah and barbara crying in episode 19 is cute
>and I'm tired of bringing in new characters as the only way to advance the plot.
don't know what to tell you there, if you don't like croix or diana's aunt and female twin cousins to the point that they make you drop the show
let's not bring up episode 16 ever, one of the shittiest episodes of the series next to 5

also forgot to say, that all those loose plot ends you probably thought meant very little? episode 22 and the previews for episode 23 actually kind of make sense of it all to the point you might end up rewatching some episodes for some rather subtle things you might have missed

Little by little LWA is turning into the Legend of Zelda of Sup Forums

>Another slice? Nothing happens, this sucks
>NOW something is happening? What a cliche plot. This sucks
>This does not look like the OVA, t sucks
>This is EXACTLY the same plot of the OVA, bravo Trigger
>This plot twist destroys everything we loved about the series, it sucks
>This plot twist came way too late and out of nowhere, so it sucks

There's no way to win.

ignore the haters, enjoy the series

Yes it was this overarching plot that did it for me. Should have just been an episodic format, save for perhaps the last 3 or so episodes which could have been one finale plotline. I enjoy the characters and their interactions, but they've taken a backseat to this silly Croix story with her phone app gadgets now and I've lost interest.

>episode 16 is one of the shittiest episodes of the series next to 5.
Nice meme, fag.

this is a similar process kofxiv goes through with trying to get people to play it
>it has PS2 graphics? this sucks
>it's harder to git gud at than SFV despite me complaining about SFV being too easy? this sucks
>it's on PS4 only and not on PC? this sucks
>it's on Steam now but it costs full price? this sucks
>it doesn't have mai waifu character in it that I never use because I don't really play the game, I just jack off to porn of her? this sucks

Absolutely. I'm reminded of Gatchaman. And I loved Gatchaman, but this should not be that show, and it feels pretty copycat.

its not what they do , its how they do it.

thanks, it's the most fun meme one can use while using an internet

>I'm gonna seat here and nitpick all day, cause I certainly would do better, despite not being specialist or graduated in any of the said subjects

Should you not be doing react videos or something?

yeah that's the argument terrible artists use when they cant take criticism.

>independent studio after a kickstart decided to make their OVA a full series
>despite some mistakes here and there, doing pretty well
>BUT IT'S NOT EXACTLY WHAT HAD IN MIND WAH WAH

The problrm with Croix is that they hyed her too much, with her appeareance in the first opening, nad then turned out to be a bipolar dork, and do nothing for five episodes. If she wasn't going to get involved as soon as she appeared thre's no reason to wait so long to introduce her. The magic routes could have even fixed the problem of the adventures in town being so magic-less, Amanda's episode used them and it was great because Akko could go transforming and Amanda could use her thundercats sword thing.

So you think you can do better huh?

is this too fast?

...

It was a boring anime without a head or a tail. Croix gave the characters a purpose other than "muh chario"

don't cry croix its not your fault the 2nd half of this anime is disappointing

This guy gets it.

taste is subjective, but 16 was such an off episode.

some episodes some say are off, but they are really a certain kind of fun.
> 8, 17, 18
then we have episode 5. it could have been great, but it really got Shamalymaned in the last half.
Trigger, never take clues from that hack M.Night.

I agree, also that new plot development with Chariot felt like so last minute.
I mean this basically contradicts everything we saw about her past and current character and teaching the few that were not affected by her magic is also not making it up to the ones she supposedly fucked over.
Ako being unable to fly because she lacks a goddamn decade of magic education compared to the others makes so much more sense.

>Ako being unable to fly because she lacks a goddamn decade of magic education compared to the others makes so much more sense.
thats the part that really bothers me , you alread had a logical no drama explanation.

What did she mean by this?

More Amanda would have been nice.
Also at the biginning they had that one picture with Ako's group, Amanda's group and Diana, so 7 girls.
This felt like an implication of the seven playing a big role with the staff and the star sign and so one and the entire reoccuring seven theme.
Feels like they totaly lost it.

The short movies were far, alone for the fact that Diana was actually a bitch in them.

Are we gonna get Noriko yelling SHINII BEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMU in next episode's flashbacks? That's gotta be the name of the magic she used on the moon, right?

the thing is that her problem has already benn considered an anomaly.
even Diana in Ep 20 claims Akkos natural inability to fly is a mystery.

also, being a noob at something is WAY different that being naturally unable to do something.

Have we been infected by TVTropes? Because half these posts are the sort of low effort high density walls of text those people use to say they don't like thing.

Kill yourself

hug the dork

with a fork

Yes instead they came up with a Chariot was trying to make everyone happy by stealing their magical potential bullshit explanation.

It's over yurifags. It's time to concede defeat. Better get over it now so the asshurt won't be as bad when Andrew claims Akko for his bride.

AKKO!!

...

DIANA!

Well but you have get that these people come from long lines of witches and dealt with this stuff ever since their birth.
They basically have no grasp for how complex or hard this is actually for an outsider originaly completly unrelated to their world is.
If you are not naturally gifted at something and learn it not early on regardless if a sport or other ability you will naturally at first be so shit at it that at best you should not even do it, because doing anything else would be better.

Is this bait or are you just retarded?

Because that is exactly what is happening; a bunch of self contained episodes leading to (at most) exactly five finale episodes where there is a higher stakes problem to be faced.

You are getting exactly what you claim to want: so you're either a liar, an idiot, or not watching.

episode 23 is youtube.com/watch?v=lt6PVVr4B04

I don't get what you mean by that.
If people liked different things why wouldn't there always be people hitching about the stuff they don't like?

...

Jesus, don't remind me of their stupidity. I rage every time I think about how stupid their thread on LWA is.If they were at least funny, it would be tolerable, but they're just stupid instead.

>going to tvtropes

There's your problem.

>Climax happens and Akko saves the day but Akko and Ursula never really have a heart to heart talk
>In the aftermath Ursula leaves the school without telling anyone. Akko wonders where she went
>New semester is starting and the principal hired a new french teacher with yellow hair and red eyes that's nice to Akko
>None of her friends tell her that's obviously Ursula/Chariot

I don't care about akko. I just want chariot and croix

I use their forums for unrelated purposes, but point taken.

...

I want to marry this dork

The show was really fun and enjoyable when it was just small histories.
Now, they are telling a history that aren't that fun or good. And we don't have a single joke.

I hope they will learn with this mistake.

AHO!!

...

I’m not living
I’m just killing time
Your tiny hands
Your crazy kitten smile

Just don’t leave
Don’t leave

...

That spell will surely keep Akko on the ropes, she'll never find out Chariot is in the school now.

Its been going downhill since the first fucking episode thanks to a shitty main character that gets everything she wants despite being a failure at everything and never growing the fuck up.

>what could possibly go wrong!

KI SA KU!!

...

It's much better than the last big Trigger series, Kill La Kill, in any case.

Please don't tell Akko I'm here.

I had fun with kill la kill though.

what was wrong with kill la kill.

I don't mind the plot too much but I would have preferred it remained episodic in the manner of the OVA's desu.

>think it's an edit
>go to his site
>it's not

Haruyama you madman!

So this is a PURE EVIL looks like...

>DUDE LIFE FIBERS LMAO
>no proper ending to Ryuko and Satsuki's rivalry because Ryuko's power level got too high too fast.
>Mako
>Series completely lost steam after they unveiled Ragyo as the true final antagonist

NOPAN
O
P
A
N

>hating Mako

How does it feel to have terrible taste?

sure thing

...

I thought Sup Forums hated Mako? Has time healed wounds?

>Little_Witch_Academia_Localized_for_the_west.png

>>DUDE LIFE FIBERS LMAO
Still better than a magic rod that fixes everything in every episode.

>she will never whisper dirty French words into your ears

Well, Sup Forums isn't a hivemind, but many people still hate her and some others only care about her as one part of a ship.

>>no proper ending to Ryuko and Satsuki's rivalry because Ryuko's power level got too high too fast
You kdding right?
Ryuko's powerlevel was obvious from the start she physically beat one star uniforms as if they were nothing without getting a boost that she was not normal was obvious from that, her eyes and the hair.
She also said that she and Senketsu are as one and this was nearly always they case when life fibers got absorbed.

>How to tell someone hasn't watched LWA:The post.

>Preferring the nanomachines ripoff over based inanimate Shiny Rod

It was already foreshadowed when Nelson mentioned that seeing someone like Akko, who can't fly a broom which is of the easier spells, was a first for her.

Can't fucking wait for S2
