The character in a manga speaks something non-Japanese that's why the TL is from left to right.

At any rate, it's better than when something is written in all katakana to imply that a character is foreign. That shit isn't even vaguely amusing; just pisses me off

They mean different things. Horizontal text is for when a character is actually speaking a different language and it's just being presented to the reader in Japanese. All katakana means they're speaking Japanese but have shit pronunciation.

Didn't say it meant the same thing; they're just both irritating.

Is there even one font which can be used to replace a line which would otherwise be written with CC Astro City? I need to have one line be bold and the rest to be normal, but the bold version of Astro City looks like shit. I feel like there's absolutely no font that can 'go with' Astro City without being distractingly different and it's pissing me off, since I use it for my primary text.

Any suggested solutions, from anyone?

It just doesn't look pleasant to me in most cases. I feel like it's got ~2 sweet spots in terms of size, and it looks like crap if it isn't very close to or at one of them.

There's this one manga I read a while ago that I wanted to finish but I can't remember the name. It was about some space kid who was like the prince of the universe, and he became a space pirate. One of his friends was a talking cat that was a space pirate. Another one was a walking locker called Pico Pico. It's not Boku no Pico. It's not Pico to Chico.

It was something like yadayada no Selty or Sility or something. Really wish I could find it.

Well, I just finished chapter 66 of Hinamatsuri. Now time to fix the translation mistakes from Made in Abyss and reupload the LQ chapters.

Not the user you were replying to, but thanks user, I didn't know how to fix images getting darker after the RGB -> Grayscale conversion, and it was so simple too.

Is there a scanning guide for beginners?
I have a few things to scan that are never getting digital release.

If the image you're saving is darker than what you see on screen, it might be because your default color setting for grey is "Dot gain". Set it to "sGray".

How did you vary your line thickness so smoothly?

What's the most patrician role? Starting from the worst one, that would have to be cleaning, right? I mean it's so fucking autistic. You just run an action and then click on spots of dust. So fucking terrible. It's even more degenerate than typesetting since they at least have some freedom and it can be fun, but it's usually fucking not.
After that comes redrawing. Anything that requires you to use the clone stamp tool should make you cream yourself desu. Redrawing is an expression of the unity of the universe, that even if the pieces of One are lost it is still undivided in its unity, so the pieces can be retrieved from the rest of it, because it never truly changed. Fucking beautiful, desu. The most patrician would of course be the thinking man’s job, the translator. I can do all of your jobs with ease but no matter how much you struggle you can’t take mine. That alone makes me snicker every time I think about it. If I decide to drop a series you usually can’t do anything about it. Not to mention the donations and commissions. Not even in the same league. How do you cope with it?

The one man show that translates and edits.

Translation is undoubtedly the most important piece, but you can cover for a subpar translator in a lot of cases with good proofreading.
If you have a subpar redrawer though, there's only so much you can typeset over.

I think scanlators should feel encouraged/motivated to be able to fill any and all roles.

You can substitute a translator with OCR and Google translate

That'll give you the same level of quality as a pure translator using CAF and spot healing brush.

I wasn't the one who redrew it, but I'm not gonna be hard on the guy who did, that manga is a nightmare to redraw.
Not only that but the raws are very small so it's not the biggest deal to me.

Yes, I wanted to know settings or something to maybe make it easier. It's so hard for me to control the pressure while I'm making the stroke and it just turns out the thickest it can be or looks weird most of the time. So much for 1024 pressure levels...

Photoshop isn't too great about pen pressure when you're moving the pen quickly. I only know Clip Studio Paint as an alternative that can perform a kind of post processing on your stroke and make the lines smoother. It also has stabilization if your hands are too shaky.

Don't care either way, but they have their uses, like directing to your site. Most of the time I don''t use them or leave them between panels.
Also, hate faggots who put 2 or even more "credit" pages with useless shit each 1-2 MB or more.

I usually do while making cleaning action. It also nice to do while leveling, like you compensate black with half of gamma: 30 black and 1.15 gamma. Sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes you add gamma over it again, etc.

You probably have to check your color management. I usually switch it off and check "ask when opening if they don't match". Just read some tips somewhere how to set it right.

Oh wait, Google translate says "A (flower) pot without seeds" and that makes a lot of more sense.

It's a bit of a cheat but I also use the normal text tool as a rough guide. Make that layer translucent and scribble on another one over it.

I think FireAlpaca also has a smoothing function.There's also lazy nezumi, although I never tried that one with a tablet.
