Is Scum's Wish the Evangelion of our generation?

Is Scum's Wish the Evangelion of our generation?

Closer to Robot Chicken of 1972

I never fapped to shinji.

Sure why not

Why would you insult Kuzu no Honkai like this by comparing it to Eva

shiiggy

...

well let's wait til the dust settles and see if it sells better than any single series in anime history as well as completely shifts production and audience focus.

k-on is the only other evangelion I can think of. there's an argument for dallos(1983) as well.

K-On completely shifted production and audience focus?

I wish Scum's Wish was scummier.

That fucking girl is even whinier and far less sympathetic than Shinji.

Shinji had a reason to be the way he is, whereas KnH girl just needs to get over herself.

evangelion redefined the entire animated medium

Yes it made the industry focus on cute girls doing cute things

How?

That doesn't sound right

you wouldn't understand, having not even been born at the time.

it had incredible sales and CGDCT exploded because of it. also, the anime market opened up a lot towards teenage/YA women, which before was a hard to hit market that k-on unexpectedly tapped into.

Is that just speculation?

shifted production focus from OVA to television, and opened up television to adult audiences when before it was almost entirely focused on children.

no it's data.
># of sales
>demographics
>genre tag statistics

The entire animated medium though? Also at least half of that sounds wrong

ushered in the "spineless beta gets thrown into adventure with multiple hot girls" phase of anime

Do you have any links? I've tried to find writing on K-On before but there's nothing good I found, in English at least

>I have never watched a anime from before the year 2000

literally look up anime by season from 1985-2005 and you will be startled at what evangelion did. I thought it was a meme too until I actually nerded out and looked at every anime from 1960-2017. evangelion actually changed everything. not surprising as it actually is the best selling single series.

>According to Ure Pia magazine, Ascii Research Institute has released a comparative analysis of K-ON! fans. They concluded that the anime has appealed to the general public, especially young women, who don't watch anime frequently.
>The sex ratio of anime fans of four titles
>37% of K-ON! fans are women while women make up only 10% of Strike Witches 2 fans.
>Percentage of people who don't watch anime frequently
>15% of the audience of K-ON! anime don't watch other anime frequently, while all the audience of Mahou Shoujo MadokaMagica anime watch other anime as well.
>Age distribution of K-ON! fans
>K-ON! fans show a wide range of age distribution. People in their 20s have the largest population both in male and female fans.
sales are easy to look up, genre tag statistics are homework just like what it takes to understand what evangelion did to the medium. check out series by season from 2005-2015. there is a noticeable and significant shift in what was produced with k-on suspiciously at the beginning of this.

Anime isn't really all animation, I thought there might have been influence outside of its little bubble, like what that guy was insinuating.

As far as K-On! goes, I was hoping for more like, facts about K-On's influence rather than facts about K-On itself. Sure it was popular and sure girls watched it but everything else seems very speculative. Especially when the show itself is derivative of past "cgdct" successes, and when girls watched anime before as well.

Wow k-on invented kawaii who fucking new. You're quite the scholar user.

By that argument it's SAO and Love Live.

correlation =/= causation, there's no such thing as provable "facts" about k-on's influence. only speculation on data. the data is fairly telling, though.

You are an idiot.

I would have liked Hanabi more if she went all yandere.

Imagine the hot, angsty sex between these two.

scums wish is good, why are you offending it by downgrading it to VA level? fucking kids these days

Would it be better than Shinji deflowering best girl?

>Is Scum's Wish the Evangelion of our generation?
Cancer of our generation
