As much as I dislike this movie it was decently put together. But it's also such a loose adaptation that I can't really relate it to the source material. The manga actually adapts the story faithfully even with some things lost in the shuffle. This movie is on the same tier as the Attack on Titan live action movies, someone wanted to tell their own story within the framework of another series' narrative. At least they had the decency not to name it "All you need is kill".
