Been reading what's out of Wortenia Senki, it's dumb but it's fun and I like that the protagonist is a 190 cm beef wall.

>>creative setting
completely wrong. generic setting even for isekai
>>refreshing badass MC
bland and uninspired. he stands out about as much as shinji
>>harem done right
harem can't be done right
>>original plot
literally a gary-stu version of kirby

Because some retard with a tiny dick that's don't know what the words the writes in his post means likes to shitpost Sup Forums making idiotic threads about it.

I don't know if this is a bait, or your genuinely think that

You think no one on Sup Forums noticed you shilling your Re:Monster garbage everyday OP?

Fuck off back to animesuki.

>autism given form
>cashgrab ride of the isekai trend train
>written to appeal to the lowest common denominator of impotent manchildren
>barely even written, could be generated by an computer algorithm after being fed random elements

Stop spamming this, nigger.

besides what others have said,
>refreshing badass MC
I liked that Rou was pragmatic and immoral (towards enemies), but every girl except for the miner wanting his D and being jealous about it made me want to distance myself further from the typical fanbase these kinds of MC are associated with.

last I heard he was a rapist

>>harem done right
I'll give you that one.

>harem can't be done right
this idea bothers me and I'm not sure why

maybe because it's trying to be no nonsense but comes off as stupid snobbery?

it's true harem romance is an oxymoron
you can't have romance where it's impossible for people to break up since the entire genre is based relationships forming and being threatened and harem basically rejects the part of reality where a girl might just up and leave but there is no reason you would need to make your story about that, in particular things like Love Hina and Tenchi Muyo didn't really do romance that way, the characters had innate personality flaws that established the status quo and the rest of the series was gag comedy and that worked fine, there are also stuff that basically drops the genre tropes and just does polygamist docusoap and even stuff like Monster Musume and Konosuba manage to make their cast zany enough to dodge the cringe aspect of a self-insert being fawned upon for contrived reasons

>completely wrong
I'm not OP but it is fairly creative for a setting. How many other isekai feature a MC born into a shitty monster group and makes them his own personal army?

Yeah, we've had spidergirls and slimes, but those don't count since they act solo for the most part. Rou at least has his comrades from his goblin days, even if they don't do much.

The rest of the story is absolute garbage though, but the setting itself is fairly cool in Re:Monster.

There's literally another goblin one where the dude stays a goblin.

I like it. Fuck you memeing faggots.

I can't tell if you're baiting or just stupid/underage but you're wrong on just about every point.

The setting is generic fantasy elves orcs mages bullshit with as stupid video-game pokemon style evolution system to give the illusion of progression.

The mc isn't refreshing, they're the same generic cut out for nerds to project on as all of these other world manga and they're too overpowered with everything handed to them easy mode to have the opportunity to be baddass.

The harem shit manages to be even worse than average by coating the generic "everyone wants your-I mean the main character's dick!" with some stupid "hot forced drugged sex but it's totally still not evil because they totally want it and I- I mean the main character HAS to rape as many random fantasy women as possible because goblins have slower pregnancies with other goblins for reasons.

What "plot" there is is just generic power level "progression" bullshit and generic "genius tactician from another world completely changes the balance of powers and flawlessly defeats everyone.

Overlord did it much better. There are less great ones like that dungeon builder one too but it doesn't matter how many did the "reborn as villain" setup because it's still a shitty generic fantasy/video-game setting but with "but this time you're an orc!" tacked on.

What's the best isekai for you?
I personally like Jump,Shieldbro and Overlord
>Overfag

Hey calm down bro, you have every right to like whatever you want and don't need to let haters take that away from you.
I love terrible movies.

Fucking auto correct
Meant Kumo

shieldbro is too autistic for my tastes

You and I just might have something in common

...

The daily life and suffering of Vlad Dracula with a vagina. Bookworm is cool too.

Because Tomaru is better

>harem can't be done right

It isn't rape if they're drugged and willingly beg for it, drug charges maybe but no rape.

1d4chan.org/wiki/Stranded_in_fantasy

Well is fake, but because his popularity (30k per vol) and having a decent ending point for a 1 court anime is inevitable.

Why the fuck aren't you reading Dungeon Seeker?

Why do so many people in neo-Sup Forums have a problem with harems and rape? Do they have something against the greatest fantasy protagonist ever conceived by man?

>What's the best isekai for you?
Escaflowne and Digimon. Pretty much anything that came out before the 2000s because around then the genre took off in a bad way.

>>creative setting
There is basically no setting. MC lives in a cave and occasionally goes out into a forest. The elves are generic forest elves. The orcs are generic contemporary rape orcs. Same with Humans and Kobolds, all generic stock fantasy tropes.
>>refreshing badass MC
Rou is a gary stu to the letter. Everything is handed to him, the writing tries to justify all his actions as correct, and nobody is allowed to dislike him else they die horribly.
>>harem done right
His harem is a yandere reincarnated, and a bunch of one note characters. They have no chemistry and no importance. They are better thought of as just trophies.
>>original plot
>Guy dies, gets OP power, uses it to elevate [Insert Race Here]
Has been done so often it's become stock and banned in at least one writing competiton

Stop making these bait threads OP. I swear you're the same guy who has been spamming Molester Man threads.

>His harem is a yandere reincarnated, and a bunch of one note characters. They have no chemistry and no importance. They are better thought of as just trophies.
Why is this wrong?

Because a harem with no interactions or dynamics is just a bunch of girls around a guy, it's boring to read if you want something of substance; something RE: Mosters is severely lacking. There are very few interesting Harem's I can think of but even the generic ones like in Love Hina/Negima give the girls their own personalities and arcs. Aside from the red haired knight name one defining trait of the other girls that isn't their job.

>harem can't be done right
it definitely can be
but capturing a bunch of girls and then raping them into submission with the aid of drugs is not harem done right

>if you want something of substance
>interesting
So it's not that it's wrong, it's that you don't like it. This is how harems have actually worked in real life. Powerful conquers taking whatever women they want, putting them in a room, and fucking them whenever they feel like it. I'm sorry it doesn't fit into your frame of "romance" but this is the ultimate goal for all men.

I like kumo, slime, and youjo senki.
Konosuba is my favourite.

>So it's not that it's wrong, it's that you don't like it
Those don't have to be mutually exclusive user. You want to tell an interesting story you have to give something worth reading and the harem of RE: Monster is not anthing interesting.

>This is how harems have actually worked in real life.
And this is a work of fiction. Otoyomegatari manages to tell an interseting story about a harem by making the characters actual characters and not cardboard cutouts.

> I'm sorry it doesn't fit into your frame of "romance"
Never said anything about romance. I said "No interactions or dymanics" The group is bland as to be nonexistant. You could make them mind broken rape slaves in cages and nothing changes. They are all forgettable trophies and even that doesn't serve the narrative which pretends like there is something going on with them.

I liked this one
youtube.com/watch?v=hcOydIIqCfY

You can't give consent while under the influence

The quality of a "harem" can easily be judged by how the characters are represented. Are they represented as characters with personalities and traits, or are they represented as a job or "what they do?"

Re: Monster does the second one so I find it fairly uncompelling. Plus, you know, all the rape, implied or otherwise.

It's also lacking in any real tension like a bunch of other series because of the MC's overwhelming power and talents. You never feel like he's really in a bind or in any real danger, so no matter what happens you don't really get engaged. I had the same problem with Overlord. Wanking over how great the MC is is boooooring.

>this is the ultimate goal for all men.
No, actually, my ultimate goal would be to just sit here with an IV drop and continually orgasm for a hundred years or so. But that wouldn't be a very good story, and neither is this.

>is not anthing interesting.
I thought it was.

>You could make them mind broken rape slaves in cages and nothing changes
Again, there isn't a problem with this.

>and even that doesn't serve the narrative
There is no narrative, its a self insert power trip.

>literally a gary-stu version of kirby
No wonder its so entretaining

Yeah, problem is there are a bunch of those. Overlord, this, that stupid Magic Academy thing with the blue haired guy, etc.

It's all the same shit with a different coat of paint. Granted, this one isn't nearly as insufferable as that magic academy shit.

does waking up after around 1000 years count?

>that stupid Magic Academy thing with the blue haired guy
Which one?

>Today I ate ___ gaining ___ ability I'll never use
>_ amount of slaves have finally given in to my aphrodisiac and joined my harem
>____ leveled up into a a demi____

I can't remember what it was called and there are a enough "magic academy" shows for it to be hard to search for, but the protagonist has blue hair, has a sister that does (I think) ice magic, while he uses guns and is secretly a top-level government agent or some shit.

Anyway, Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar is in the vein of this sort of show and is way better than anything discussed in this thread, but even that is still terrible.

It's The Irregular at Magic High School. It sucks hard.

>I thought it was.
What do you find interesting about the harem?

>Again, there isn't a problem with this.
So you find no problem with the harem being interchangeable with cum soaked rags?

>There is no narrative
You're right, there is no attempt at telling a story. Just jerking off the MC each chapter. I don't mind it but this one has nothing going for it.

Sasuga user, you can be an author!

these two things are made for mass appeal, it's not good to have them be one work's strongest selling point, since it'll mean that said work's other selling points will be weaker.

>What do you find interesting about the harem?
I put my hand on my dick and self inserted.

>So you find no problem with the harem being interchangeable with cum soaked rags?
I have been fapping to mindbreak for 10 years.

>You're right, there is no attempt at telling a story. Just jerking off the MC each chapter. I don't mind it but this one has nothing going for it.
It's like you are playing an rpg on easy mode without the gameplay.

when I've read "IV drop", I thought that you were talking about this. Soga commented on how even the deathmatch he was having with Akagi was a nice break (from everyday life), then Akagi says that he sees things the other way around.

is this the lowest point writing can achieve?

Oh I get it now. Enjoy your trash series m8.

way too mary sue and bullshit logic
>rape is bad! but if we drug them untile they ask for it then its ok
>human are instantly loyal after getting the goblin D
>bullshit powerleveling. wouldnt be suprised if he just started fighting an ant and ending up eating the entire earth and became God in the timespan of 10min

[X]shit
t.Makoto "Sonovacuckking" Misumi

I haven't read it for awhile and wont ever again. The only defensible thing about this series is the start when he is just a goblin surviving in a forest and the rare harem aspect.

>Sonovacuckking

Seriously, what the fuck was the point of that backstory.

Kawazu-san because its comfy.

>hating on the god of war

When will we get Spider light novel translations?

What's the dracula one called

Warlock of the Magus World

>RPG elements and "weak start" but with infinite potential for growth + skill steal ability

What's the name of this? Tensei Shitara somethingrather?

Isn't it localized?

Don't compare Rance with the absolute piece of shit that manga is.

Aku-something

Ill say this, after reading 20+ Isekai Harem WNs, I can finally appreciate that the Tenchi Girls dont become lifeless onaholes craving the MCs dick.

At least they maintain their personality

Konosuba and deathflag, reading new gate now, the idea of mc not showing off and actually care about consequences interests me.

>How many other isekai feature a MC born into a shitty monster group and makes them his own personal army?
You've left setting and gone into plot.

Re:Monster isn't worse than most isekai plot-wise, it's just that it's written in such a lazy and incredibly shitty way that it goes straight to pure shit pretty quickly.
Reading the manga instead of the WN improves Re:Monster's quality a million times.

Overlord, Dungeon Defense and Konosuba are my favourites.
I also like Release that Witch, Your and My Asylum and Ouroboros Record.

>Lazy writing
>Flawless MC
>Lazy world building
>Hollow Characters that are supposed to support the MC
>The world is handed to him on a golden platter

Some stories are slow to start up but this had so much room to catch up and still the flaws are there.

>watched lovehina 15~years ago
>up Tenchi Muyo on the backlog
>never came around to watch it

what am i in for?, because todays the day

>Lazy writing

This is by far its worst sin, beyond the bland characters and self wanking wish fulfillment.

>Ate this
>Gained skill
>banged my harem
>crushed some one
>Im so bad ass.

Repeat ad nauseum, the only characters that even get the slightest character development is the other gobbo that is as dumb as bag of nails.

If the author had actually tried to give perspectives of other characters maybe it wouldn't be so nauseating to read.

At least in this point the other edgelord isekai do it better.

Mushoku tensei, It only have one good part that is the beginning of the story with a good story telling, plot and characters, the rest is average and sometimes bad, and to this day is the only Isekai LN that I have readed.
The rest of the isekais just copy of each others on the universe they develope, all of them are medieval/renaissance world with magic and RPG features, they normally just have a few original plot themes like MC is reincarnated in a slime, MC operates a mecha, MC is a skeleton, MC is a sword, MC actually doesn't have a goal and is SoL, MC is a goblin, MC doesn't have a cheat skill.

>stock fantasy world where all races are so stupid that they should not be able to survive on their own
>stock OP MC
>fuck everyone, captives never try to suicide and in days go from noble warrior to dick obsessed whores
>plot never made into the story
That plus the dullest side charachters and super lazy writing.
So it is just shit and you have a shit taste.

>keep someone captive and drug them until their minds break

"lmao im not raping them im the good guy after all"

>>If the author had actually tried to give perspectives of other characters maybe it wouldn't be so nauseating to read.
I don't think it would be possible when the format is done in a journal. It's basically the main character writing down things that happened. Whether the main character has any skills in said writing is a different matter.

>missing MC is just a little sickly common girl that wants to read books in a world where books are rare

Kind of interested to know what the second ranked series is since it's not an isekai.

Akuyaku Tensei Dakedo Doushite Kou Natta

He said the protag had blue hair. My guess would be Unlimited Fafnir since it seems to be the closest fit.

I enjoyed The Faraway Paladin, dat top tier parents is pretty rare.

Does the guy actually get anything resembling a real, tough enemy to fight? You know something he actually STRUGGLES with?

From what I've read he just Kirbys everything and fucks all the women.

Nope he doesn't. Just easymode steamrolling.

The only one who he ever had a problem with was that Bear King.He lost his arm to it, but then was given a SUPER ARM DELUXE ARTIFACT.

I was very angry at that.
I kinda dropped it.

Anyway, the best modern Isekai is the Spider one.

The only problems I have with ISEKAI storylines is that they tend to be either powerfantasies, like Overlord, Re:Monster, and the like; and worse, that their world runs like a videogame.

It cant be that 'he's seen lots of videogames that he recalls are sort of like this', like magical effects and firebolts, and mana.... they have to bring in LITERAL game mechanics into a storyline that doesnt need them- like a player earning Titles, Skills, ect.

It's power fantasy or videogame fantasy or worse, both.

We never get to see a story where it's just a guy sent to another world and he has to survive in a world where there's magic and he's just a NOBODY, and has to learn to survive.

It's very disheartening how much power people want. What happened to build up?Building drama and tension?

Second one is technically isekai, as in it takes place in a different world the MC transfers to, but that's all Otome game villian girl stuff
Name is "謙虚、堅実をモットーに生きております!"
.

>powerfantasies
>like Overlord
I'm not sure I'd consider Overlord a powerfantasy.
