ITT: tropes you hate

>characters are mutually in love with each other
>they never confess and get together by the end of the series

>"why am I remembering this now?"
a sure sign of shitty writing

>"If we kill the unrepentant mass-murdering villain, we'll be just as bad as he is!!"

>The story had potential to develop widely
>The story is only centered in the harem aspect of the story

>Villain is defeated by the power of friendship
you fuck right off

>h-he's fast!

fucking this

>let's tease this secret
>and then not reveal it for another ten years!
>OR EVER!

>Setting revolves around magic system
>every character has some cool and interesting magic style
>MC has anti-magic or can just "kyaaaa" himself through everything so he can use superior japanese katana arts.

>silly somewhat antagonistic character who is constantly bothering the MC shows up extravagantly and their stomach growls

>Two characters fall in love
>They have hot vanilla sex
>best friend NTRs the girl away.

>Beginning with a decent protagonist, changing it to the nearest delinquent available.

I'm looking right at you Tenjou Tenge.

>"We are going to conveniently ignore the fact that we killed a bunch of grunts with no second thoughts just to get here!"

>thinking with words
I mean I understand that you gotta fill 20 minutes or that you fail to give your audience a general idea of what the MC is thinking at times, but for fucks sake.
Thinking is something abstracted and it can happen in as fast as a fraction of a second. I've almost never done such a thing.

Bonus points when done in the worst imaginable way:
>hmm i wonder where she's going. WAIT! could it be? yes, she might be about to wash these clothes. she's a maid so that shouldn't be surprising...

>Character says or does something odd
'OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE HE JUST SAID/DID THAT ODD THING."

Memory and amnesia tropes in general are just lazy writing.

>The girl dies during a wedding at the end of the last episode

>characters have mutual love for each other
>aren't brick walls and is able to comprehend when someone else likes you
>probably ran into a moment where one realized the other likes them
>eventually just gets together without having to ask each other out because they've been doing this dance long enough that they don't need to ask anymore
>no point in complicating a romantic plot line when the two already mutually likes each other. And when both of them probably already realized that the other likes them already, and that they've been dancing around that idea for so long that the two are convinced that the other likes them. And eventually gets together in the end without even having to verbally communicate their love for each other.
>literally nothing wrong with this
>might only trigger autistic romantics who wants a relationship to blossom more dramatically

>OP hates this

>MC is a complete beta/fag/nice-guy who somehow gets a harem but will avoid sex even with his love interest
Or
>MC is a Rance wannabe

No inbetweens

>"I'm just an ordinary highschooler"

Well I know, anime and escapism and all, but in the real world if both parties take too long to confess to each other, one of them (usually the woman) will end up hooking up with someone else even if there was mutual love.

Which is why I love NTR on beta characters who even refuse sex with their girlfriends and I find semi-confident characters refreshing.

>bullies bully MC in horrible, traumatizing ways
>when MC defeats the bullies, he doesn't do anything except defeating them
>bullies come back in the story later and create a lot more trouble for MC
>he somehow defeats them and doesn't humiliate or kill them, just defeats them

>aren't brick walls and is able to comprehend when someone else likes you
>probably ran into a moment where one realized the other likes them
Aren't the type I'm talking about

Better than becoming best friends with them.

>probably ran into a moment where one realized the other likes them
>not the type I'm talking about

give an example where they just get together even when they don't have a reason to think the other likes them back

Are you a tard? I explicitly said I hate the type when they're clearly in love with each other but NEVER get together.

>they never confess and get together by the end of the series

Don't call people retarded when your syntax is atrocious. People can easily misread this and assume that a couple gets together despite having never confessed.

Do you really think somebody would be specifically be talking about people getting together without a formal declaration of love? Are you that autistic that, rather than reread the sentence and understand the context of it being a trope thread, you'd rather jump to the conclusion somebody hates the very specific and rarely occurring instance of characters getting together without telling each other?

Especially when getting together as a couple and confessing are linked to each other in Japan, thus contextually you can assume if they don't confess to each other they don't get together either

>characters are mutually interested in each other
>girl's man-hating best friend keeps getting in the way

thats more of a problem with the "show dont tell" method of stroytelling that, let's be honest, is a little beyond the structure or framing of how anime works

i really liked when this happened in hajime no ippo though

>MC has a shitty """limiter""" set on them that locks their power away

>MC gets into a misunderstanding that can be cleared in 2 seconds but proceeds to just "its not like that"

>MC's only motivation/goal in life is "I will protect everyone!"
>Bonus points if this and only this leads to a harem

A lot of people think in words though. I do it all the time.

Toppen gurren ?

>MC is a weak ass sissy bitch
>often gets attacked by enemies
>gets saved by his own harem members

Gurren laggan ?

>Weakest but the strongest via Anti Magic/Katana
Sausge, Onii-samas that exist

>MC tries to go down on a girl
>Girl gets embarrassed and tries to get him to stop, saying "no it's dirty down there!"

As a man who loves cunnilingus, nothing pisses me off more than when I see this in hentai. Fucking purityfags ruin good porn.

>A fucking mountain wall of cicadas crying in the background.

dude complain all you want, you're the one that typed the confusing sentence. Of fucking course it's going to make people confused.

I meant to write "or", but regardless it takes some faulty thinking to think somebody would specifically hate when couples get together without confessing instead of grasping the intended meaning

The boob comparation/jealous thing. I've never seen girls or women doing it ever and I'm a girl

>it takes some faulty thinking to think somebody would specifically hate
>it takes faulty thinking to misinterpret a sentence that can easily be misinterpreted because you failed to construct a more coherent message.

>harem MC never fucks the girls

How do you feel when you see boobs physics in anime? I'm a guy and even I get annoyed when I see boobs poorly drawn or animated.

>Rival/Enemy is stronger than the main characters
>Gets a stroke/dies of illness midmatch.

its real. ive seen it

My biggest beef with anime breasts is those impossibly huge ones.

The jiggle physics are stupid and most scenes would be better without them, but I can usually ignore it.

It isn't easily misinterpreted when you consider the context behind the statement. Do you assume they're talking about the rare and good occurrence of couples getting together without confessing, or the more common and infuriating occurrence of characters liking each other but never getting together in a discussion of things that are hated? Of course, considering the fact you chose to be smarmy and condescending instead, content in your superior taste, I can only assume you lack the basic comprehension and inference skills to ever consider the latter.

>MC gets into a misunderstanding that can be cleared in 2 seconds but proceeds to just "it's not like that"
I ducking hate this.

>love triangle
>protagonist doesn't fuck both of them

>Oh no I'm losing! It's time to bring out my special OP move!
>Better not use it ever unless I am about to lose!

I've seen it.

>I gotta use THAT
>he's gonna use THAT???
>but THAT will reduce his lifespan!

>I gotta use THAT
>he's gonna use THAT???
>but THAT will kill him!
>character lives anyways

>MC actually makes a perfectly good plan that will result in no death on his side
>No we will not use this good plan because It's not Honorable
>A few characters die

Gash did this right

Fucking Will of D. Fuck you Oda.
