I didn't think Super Explosive Demon Story was that good of an adaptation compared to the anime. But I would like to see new Slayers manga if we can't have more anime. Falces was pretty good.

The main series of novels ended long ago. It's the anime continuity that needs closure most of all, since that became its own entity.

But there's still a chance for more short stories in the main novel continuity. The last one Kanzaka wrote came out just 2 years ago in the 25th anniversary anthology. I really liked it and I hope he feels like writing more one of these days.

More fanfic anthologies like that might be okay too, although I didn't like the stories not penned by Kanzaka in this one; some were way too out of character.

This so much. If they don't feel like delving into part 2 of the main series for whatever reason, then they can continue adapting Special along with Amelia and Zel like they did in the drama CD series.

It sucks that we don't get anything with Naga and the other group together other than Revolution R as living armor and the 2001 OVA with little interaction. Is it because of the conflict with Amelia or that having two large chested girls will drive Lina over the edge?

It's sad because that's the ultimate combo:

It's just Kanzaka's running joke that he doesn't want Naga to ever interact with Amelia. Maybe it's more that he doesn't want Amelia to find out what kind of person Gracia has become. Anyway, it's too bad that he's against it because they made a great combo in the Naama episodes of Evo-R. I'm sure Amelia would be very happy to see her sister is doing well.
