Pretty good show that just ended, hearing chinese instead of jap was a nice change of pace, and I'm glad we finally have a MMO anime about people palying an MMO and not "oh no we got trapped in the game when the expansion launched"
It's got a novel with over 600 chapters, so I'm hopeful for more seasons.

I read the novel. Didnt watch Kings Avatar anime for few weaks and now marathoning it.
Its good show, but simply fanservice to novel readers. There is so much context, content and details skipped or never explained it should be a mess for those who didnt read it. Or at very least, they lose out on great peace of Novel appeal - for example all the skills and dungeon tactics explained and making sense.
King`s Avatar made me start reading chinese novels, and after i picked more i realized its not the top one. From the ones i read so far:

Never understood why Warlock is so highly rated, i dont dislike it - but it just lacks charm.

12 Episodes. And yes, novel is 1800 or so chapters with only 600 being translated and anime at best getting first hundred or two or so. Just read the novel, its great - rereading all events from start even if you watched the anime is rewarding, since anime is too shallow.
They do a shitty job at merging the animation with the background though

Like the MC most character wise of other novels and main appeal is he has really good dynamic with other charcters - its genuinely interesting to read. Enjoyed every ark so far, and the Demon World "tournament ark" is one of the favorite too.
You forget that getting trapped in an mmo makes it more interesting to watch, nobody wants to watch people play an actual mmo because it's BORING and this show made it look really dumb aswell.
No matter how 'good' you are at playing a freakin mmo you won't beat people at much higher levels with higher gear and you won't beat bosses solo like this guy did.
It's a dumb show and Chinese sounds awful.
Put them back inside a game next time so that skill will take you further than a fucking rotation.

Eh it was alright, it was very loosely grounded in terms of actual MMOs and their mechanics which I liked a bit initially but anyone that says it does more than that is spouting bullshit, same for the faggots saying that it has a "realistic" or "jaded" take on eSports, it doesn't do any of that stuff at all, I was sort of expecting it to but what we've got instead is just a mary sue dude a la Kirito that is the very best at everything he does and he's able to beat everyone and always win, I mean seriously his "special weapon" that apparently nobody can predict even after the game is a decade old is fucking ridiculous, I thought maybe he's just destroying people and records early on because they were all noobs and he was basically a smurf but then actual pros came into the server from the legit best teams in the scene fighting him sometimes 2-5v1 and the fucker still wins like it's nothing, I mean sure the animation is nice to watch sometimes but this is barely above something like Sword Art Online, not saying it's impossible to enjoy, just that you have to turn your brain off to do it

All in all I only watched the show because I had nothing else to watch on sundays, and it honestly wasn't that bad. The story isn't better or worse than half the usual shit we get, only real cons against the show are the shit tier animation and that chinese sounds god awful.
