Basically, McCauley and Dixon can now return to the business of collecting, and leave the sorting and recycling to Van der Linde. What's more, Van der Linde's facility gets rave reviews from state officials.

Peter Van der Linde says his recycling facility in Fluvanna County was strategically attacked over Memorial Day weekend. The entrepreneur came to work Monday and found more than 30 of his company vehicles inoperable, the targets of malicious vandalism.
Vehicles at the 17-acre Zion Crossroads site were punctured through their radiators and fuel tanks in what he calls an attempt to put the facility out of business.
"It was like a SWAT assault on every piece of equipment at the recycling center," Van der Linde tells CBS19.
Van der Linde says the damage totals hundreds of thousands of dollars, however he is still waiting for an official estimate. Meanwhile, a security guard is now watching over the facility and surveillance cameras will soon be installed.
The innovative businessman says he believes a group of people are behind the attack, however, Van der Linde is keeping the names to himself because he doesn't want to compromise the investigation.
"I have a very clear idea of who sponsored this, who executed it," said Van der Linde. "But while it's under investigation I've been advised to stay quiet on that subject."
Repairs on the vehicles are being made where they can and Van der Linde has leased equipment to ensure the facility stays running.

Controversy and drama seem to follow Van der Linde wherever he goes. His Zion Crossroads facility has met the ire of everyone from residents to the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA).
First, there were anonymous complaints to the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Then a $20 million lawsuit filed by the RSWA in 2008, which claimed that Van der Linde was not paying fees for dropping off trash. The legal battled dragged on for two years until Van der Linde settled outside of court and agreed to pay $600,000.
Van der Linde says the company will land on its feet. He has leased vehicles and equipment to survive the most recent attack.
