GS3 also reveals Megumi started liking Tomoya as early as in episode 2, and that the real reason she was mad in pic related was because she was jealous. Michiru points out that Megumi claims she was mad that he didn't consult her specifically and that she wanted special treatment. Izumi points out that, due to having a treasured childhood friend collapse, him being irrational was understandable. The clincher is when Megumi says that she values friends over guys, and Michiru asks her whether she'd still be mad if Tomoya had confessed to Eriri in the Christmas even and explained that he acted that way because he loved Eriri the most. Megumi can't give a good answer.

Utaha tells her that Tomoya was always afraid that the closer he got to Eriri, the bigger he would be betrayed, and congratulates Eriri on reaching the same position Utaha is in, looked at only as a creator, not a girl.

This is a Megumi, Izumi, and Michiru volume. Eriri's only role in this volume is to lose. Izumi and Michiru were also great this volume, the way they slowly got Megumi to break her shell was so cute.

As for why, Utaha tells Eriri to give up on Tomoya, and it just sort of spirals from there into a rant. Eriri was pissed off that Utaha would use her as material for a new LN specifically about how she lost.

GS3 sounds shittastic. I'm glad the ride is almost over and Maruto can move on to write something worthwhile again.

Due to how unreliable a narrator Tomoya is, it was really hard to tell, and the love he felt for Megumi didn't start feeling like romantic love until he realized he wanted to bang her. GS3 clears up a lot though where Utaha explains exactly how Eriri screwed up. Eriri had lost long before the series had even begun when the elementary school incident gave him a fear of her betraying him.
