Is it worth it? I'm going to at least buy a DIY Edtracker for £20 and some china cable, to at least be able to do the basics of looking around in War Thunder or racing games.

Anything that grows fast and feels rewarding, probably. Maybe try radishes if you want a true babby's first plant. Just make sure to plant them in a pot, not directly in the ground.

Personally, I only really grow some chili plants. You give them a stick of nutrient, and water them every now and then. Every one or two days, not too much, not too little. They want all the sun you can give them. Get seeds either by buying, or buying a fresh pack of chilies and tasting which one you want, then using the seeds from that.

Neither can the military. You may have one or two skirmishes with simunitions but that's effectively airsoft on steroids. Nothing can prepare you for real world combat. Having the skills to effectively shoot and manipulate firearms in the real world is invaluable. I have thousands of rounds through my AR, my Glock 19, and train relentlessly. I may not have any actual experience in a live firefight, but I'm fully confident in my skills. You have no idea how many years it took for me to get to the level I'm at with a handgun. VR is pretend.

I'll just get the Edtracker (DIY kit) for £20 and I'll get the ability to play more historical battles in War Thunder at least.. it's a magnetometer and gyro thing that you put on your head (makes you look like an idiot), and measures roll, pitch and yaw.

Hopefully the next generation will be cheaper, better and have some bugs ironed out. Also, it doesn't feel like I could resonably afford a graphics card for it either, you need top-of-the-line, don't you? Either case, it looks cool.
