Covering the whole thing even in full shotgun mode would probably be two episodes.
Kyoani was already struggling with the last 4 episodes that were almost entirely anime original. General consensus had them as average to bad episodes. And the attempt of an "epic" climax with the dragon fight and Kobayashi talking it out at the end was certainly very underwhelming. KyoAni original shit is only good on small quantities not entire episodes.
The climax would have been better if they had paced it more effectively. That whole bit was an easy episode and a half. Should they have ended episode 11 with Tohru confirmed gone, we probably could have avoided the "ENTER MY PORTAL FOR 2 MINUTE SHOWDOWN" scenario. As much as I originally thought that I would have preferred the quiet version of that chapter, I can't help but rather think that I would have preferred that they had just paced their idea better.
K-On original episodes were perfect. Maidragon's I think were fine except the rushed/muddled final arc, and even that had great moments.

I went to the KyoAni shop and was SORELY disappointed.
I mainly went to get a gift for my buddy, and even than I was miffed.
It was literally 95% FREE! shit, 3% Hibike shit, and 2% everything else with nothing from K-On, Haruhi, etc. All they had from Maid Dragon were 2 towels with lewd prints of Tohru and Lucoa.
I ended up getting him a nice little keychian with Ruru on it.
They also had some nice, real penciled keyframes from recent productions like Hibike and Maid dragon for about $54. Those would've been great but were a bit too expensive and didn't look like they'd travel well.
