You should try anime, skip the fillers (Except Invading Army and The Past arcs) and don't continue with the manga.

Studio Pierrot a shit, the fight scenes in the anime are it's only redeeming quality everything else a shit. Stick to the manga.

I don't understand this new unique sword bullshit. The swords are a conduit for their wielder, this kid releasing the Shikai of the sword makes no sense. How can the sword have a release of it's own if it's just an outlet?

The final arc fucked Ishada pretty hard.

It's a special Zanpakuto.

I bet it belonged to the Soul King.
