/MFG/ - Mattress Firm General

>what?
In a conspiracy thread on Reddit someone mentioned believing Mattress Firm is a racketeering hub. This is due to the large number of stores in concentrated areas even though there are very rarely customers in these stores. The thread was reportedly deleted and I am not sure if the linked thread is a subsequent thread or the original but this thread has a lot of talk about it.

An user brought the topic here (with a ridiculous title I must add) and many Anons looked up locations near them and found that, indeed, there were many locations in a short distance from each other. One user also noted that they have a children’s charity.
Why did this guy resign if there was nothing to hide, Anons? Did we stumble onto something big here?

no joke. my wife goes on and on about this. She's pissed they never put in trader joes and its always more mattress firms. I never really thought about it, but it's true. No one is ever in these stores and they are more concetrated than mcdonalds. I think you're onto something user.

Holy shit me and my dad where talking about this the other day and it's actually a fucking thing, There's one across street from where I work (it's been there probably 8 years) and I always look at it and ask myself how it's still open when nobody is ever there.

Bump

Sharing link from old thread as think there is some truth in these employee reviews. Most talk about how boring it is to work there and that upper management dgaf if the stores are clean or stocked correctly: indeed.com/cmp/Mattress-Firm/reviews

I bought a mattress there two years ago.

...

Here's a taste from the reviews. I think MF is a front for something huge like pizza/child trafficking.
>If you were in a slower store, expect to see 1-3 people a week during 10+shifts.

Damn!

Ever hear of a business where no customers walk in the door and the phone never rings???
>Typical Day: Wait for someone to come in which could be no one. Wait for phone to ring.

I guess I can just post in both of em.
So has anyone ever had some Cicada3301 kinda shit just come into their life?

In order to get the 6 year no interest free financing, you gotta brink a State ID. Drivers license wont cut it. You gotta bring in 2(two) extra things to the DMV for the State ID. I got one but Im not totally sure I wasn't supposed to bring in 4 things. 'Cause Math?

I dont think they are up to anything bad. They give 6 year interest free financing! Plus I got an amazing Alpaca stuffed mattress for like 85 percent off.

Maybe its one of the Pronoiac conspiracies where they stuff like 1 in 6 of em full of cash? just to help out the people smart enough to buy 6 mattresses and cut them up.

ok but heres some copy pasta

He so back when seth rich went big like on hanitty with like fbi user and everything I was following if from like right before that, like i felt that the thing was happening so I got on Sup Forums after years. and then I got obsessed with seth rich. but shit got hella wierd with my my mocputer starting to like eh speak directly to me, like in enders game playing that game. and then this guy on Sup Forums calls me Southbay user and gives me a mission to smell some garlic and wake up by riding this train to gilroy, so I do it and it turns out that the trainride was this huge redpill with directions on how to swallow it even tho it was way to big to swallow, and it opened my minds eye to this great darkness and I saw a Dog who looked me dead in the eyes and I knew god and the devil were both real as fuck. and then I left my apartment to explore with my new veil piercing vision i went exploring and all this crazy shit started happening. But I knew it was all real cause I was taking pictures and bringing home mysterious objects and explaining everything to my friends...

and anyway part of the point is that MatressFirm ended up being a personally very important part one of the things that my vision questy thing was telling me to do... or more like an opportunity I saw that I could seize. Since then its been feeling like the rabbit hole has been sending out tentacles to try and pull me back in. have any of you ever had something like that happen? like lately I started randomly talking on twitter with this mysterious guy who went through a similar thing and he was saying he thinks we need to save the world... Didnt seem nefarious, I wanted the interest free 6 years (mighta been a tad bit delusional; )

Remember what they used to be called until they rebranded a couple years ago?

>They sold to a South African company, then broke their ties to Tempur-pedic,sales fell, inventory issues started, then Steinhoff ended up being investigated for fraud in the EU. It is impossible to make a full commission check because of the way they schedule pay, and because it's based on delivered product. About half the orders now have to wait on product and extra delays are common.

bump for potential

Just looked in my city - there are literally more Mattress Firms than Starbucks, unreal

I remember my coworker, a probably twice my age, recalled how his manager at a mattress store rented it out for a porn shoot for the day without telling him as he tried to open the store for the afternoon

Put me in the screencap when we make the 10pm news

I think it's run-of-the-mill corporate incompetence and possibly some creative accounting, but that's about it. It's worth keeping an eye on though.

That golf article is legit, even mentions that it might be a multiverse gateway. Truth is stranger than fiction but that sounds strange enough to be true. multiverse shit was kind of a theme of both my experience and the guy i met on twitter. So really none of you guys had any kinda crazy experiences with maybe a matrixy or spiritual or magaicky or scifi theme?

i'm pretty sure they're just importing gook whores. these places always seem to be near massage parlors.

>Steinhoff International needs $200 million to invest in Mattress Firm next year, but the South African retail conglomerate said Tuesday that it's losing lender support as it grapples with an accounting investigation that has eviscerated its stock value, ousted key executives and called into question the value of some $7 billion in assets.

Wouldn't a simpler explanation be:
>Sleep Train or whatever mattress store pops up
>Mattress Firm pops up near it
>Due to whatever business reasons that Mattress Firm is so good, they're able to buy out that Sleep Train location
>Now they can have a larger variety of mattresses at any location, increasing sales

here are 6 mattress stores in my town of 10,000 people. All pretty much within a mile of each other. There was also a child pornography case in my town back in the 80's. If you want that story, it's a fucking good one and why I'm a 100% believer of evil being done at the top.

We use it to finance terrorism

You know, you guys know where they're storing the mattresses, but do you know how they're transporting the mattresses? These types of companies will use the services of Logistics companies to transport bigger loads of cargo. I did some digging and found out about this Logistics company called XPO Logistics and they're all over as well. Look at what I also dug up while looking into them.

theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jan/22/lithuanian-gangmasters-jailed-in-modern-slavery-and-trafficking-case

Definitely don't dig into this goys, I'm sure it's nothing.

you don't know how business works.

Pic related is Silicon Valley. Interesting how they often cluster in groups of 2 or 3. What benefit would this provide to a monetary fraud scheme?

Please do elaborate

Good find, user

I don't think it's some money laundering conspiracy, I think it's just a really poorly run business

there'd be clusters of two if one of the two was previously their largest competitor that they acquired. In a lot of cities fast food restaurants are all clustered together - if McDonalds acquired Burger King you'd see a similar pattern emerge (temporarily since McDonalds would be smart enough to shut that shit down)

I'm inclined to agree that it's just a badly run business. GameStop has a similar problem; near where I live there are 2 GameStops in the local mall and one a block from the mall.

my town had 3 fucking whole foods for awhile
two have been closed because it was retarded

sometimes businesses think they can expand forever and be still be profitable - all they know how to do is grow so they keep doing it even when it no longer makes any sense

Precisely what I said

google: fresno, ca mattress stores. youre welcome

Pic related is LA and list of XPO Logistics locations. They're totally not a proliferate company goy that's worth noting at all. It's not like Hilary Clinton has donated money to them or anything before. Whatever you do, do not look up the locations of some of their businesses in Google Earth. There's literally nothing interesting there and you'd just be wasting your time.

Thanks user.

Let's all go to sleep at the same time

fucking mattressgate

it says you got 3 posts but I just see 2. But why would they need so much sweet floor space for that? I've only been in one of em but the people and location seem in no way sinister, I think they are just harmless showrooms. Maybe behind that with the warehouses they are up to no good. I dunno to me they just seem weird not spooky, and human trafficking stuff is super spooky. Of course I could easily be wrong. I just don't really see how the storefronts do much to advance the criminal enterprise. Especially so many. Seems to me more like a real estate thing, or some kinda magic or i dunno

Sorry about the one thing btw spook. I didn't mean to cause any trouble for you, if that's the case.

pillowgate? sleepygate? we need a good name to make this shit stick.

Dude where is the fun conspiracy where it doesnt feel like you guys are trying to get me killed, lol

I'm going to have to take a walk in the woods this weekend.

This guy is the CEO of XPO logistics with direct ties to the Clintons

OMG i did wtf thats way too many i got the hebejeebez up in here.

Oh it can't be that bad.

See what I was talking about? They have some other connections other than those as well which are rather interesting too. Make sure to check out how common they are.

So as someone that worked in a mom and pop matress store, I'll let you in on the buisness side of things. They are low overhead buisnesses. Maybe a couch and a desk and product is all you need. It's a low volume, high profit buisness. Most people that come in end up buying something because they need a place to sleep. My comission was around $75 a sale. The store could make $500 profit in a single transaction.

Bump. I've notice lots of mattress companies in my area too. They spend big money for stores/location. What's their gig?

deadman switch.

My county is full of old farms, and these old farms have old money. There is a distinct hierarchy in this county and it's well known who these people are. Well one of these families has a kindly grandma that runs a daycare. Everything is well and good up until some of this kids start saying stuff about being taken out of the daycare by the grandma's son. Huge deal, where the fuck are you taking my child? It comes to light that there is a cousin who had been taking these kids to a house and making them take nude photographs. Toddlers, elementary schoolers, this sick fuck took pictures of little children, and all these kids had a description of the house having a big fireplace and a nice burgundy rug.
At this point, it's been released to the police that this is real, and the state prosecutor comes in.
He does nothing. You wanna know why? A Maryland state representative is one of the "photographer's" cousins as well, and who does the prosecutor answer to? You guessed it.

So this all gets swept under the rug and no one has been able to find the "photographer" after he allegedly fled to somewhere else in the country.

Biggest kicker coming up. A couple months later, some new parents who would soon become close friends are at an open house, looking to move somewhere where they can raise their newborn son. They had been in town for a while and word spread quick about this whole ordeal and guess what they see at the open house? A fucking grandiose fireplace and burgundy rug.

If it can happen at a level as tiny as this, then it could happen with people who have a whole lot more power.

It was used.

Interesting considering golf rumors which I'm not going to delve any further into.

Yeah it was when I realized they cover shit like that up even in small ass towns that I realized just how deep it went.

With enough autism I'm sure you'll be fine user.

Now I'd see 3 people in a good day. 2 would make a purchase, and I could up sell at least 1 of them easily. By up sale I mean more expensive matress, matress pad if they had kids \ pets, frame, etc. The up sales are at least 85% profit. That's how we stayed in buisness. Floor models got sold at a slight discount and it wasn't an issue to get rid of them. Again, low traffic, but high sales %. Cleaned the fuck up at tax return season, $1000 comission days weren't uncommon.

that plus learning aboutthedubs0n here and i think someone hacked my computer to show me these trippy vids that made me extra smart may 1he slackbewithyoupraisKek. and of course god!

kek

what are the golf rumors?

i dont get it

yeah what are the golf rumors?

Golf is supposedly a satanic ritual.

I keep telling you dumb nigs the same thing: this is a wasted thread

I used to work there. Middle management is the worst group of inflated egos that exist (this statement is not an exaggeration). Upper management isn't much better. The lower rank backhouse people are lucky to have not accidentally killed themselves by now. The whole company succeeds off of marketing and greed. The marketers, warehouse ops, purchasers and about 20% of the sales force are the only competent people in the entire company.

I've met the higher ups. They aren't especially bright. If they're part of a massive conspiracy then we're all fucked because it means retards can pull one over on all of us.

I've also seen the internal docs as of a year ago. You can Google their plan. None of it is secret. It's a company of greed and hubris. Their public plans and internal plans are pretty much the same.

They have so many stores because they view each store as advertising. They aim to choke out any mattress sales competition violently. They were bought out by steinhoff because steinhoff aimed for horizontal scaling deeper into furniture.

If you want to just troll mattyberg be my guest, but they seriously aren't nefarious. Just kinda lucky and good at marketing.

huh, lol, weeelllll I only ever played at the driving range but I have been wanting to try it. but on the other hand this conversation I had with this goblinesque old lady i was talking to in the middle of this magical journey of sorts I had does kinda corroborate it. But also suggests I should start playing to take my place ;)

Wouldn't they lose a lot of profit with that strategy?

I have noticed this same phenomenon in many cities. See a matress firm, drive 2 blocks, see another matress firm. It's been something that always made me curious. They are often much closer to each other than Mcdonalds or Taco bells etc.

Underneath some golf courses are bunkers. That's one of the reasons presidents go golfing so often.

I doubt they use it for money laundering. There are much easier ways to do that - cash only restaurants, service based industries (nail salon, hair salon, barber, personal trainer/gym, tax services, etc), staff-less businesses (laundromats), low value businesses (used book stores, thrift stores, etc). Pretty uncommon to buy a mattress in cash, and leaves too much of a paper trail if bought with a card.

It's much more likely a part of a trafficking organization. Mattresses are big and bulky. They require a dedicated truck to move them in bulk. You could hide literally anything imaginable in that trucks, from a stolen car to a bunch of guns/drugs to a bunch of humans. If you were so inclined you could hide it in the mattresses themselves, even. If this were the case, the multiple businesses in close proximity would make more sense. The trucks probably arrive in such a way that it would be very difficult to single out the one carrying contraband, even if you knew one of them was.

Pic Related. Love me some abstract art.

Huh, well golf courses kinda played a major theme in the climax day of my matrixy spiritualy experience. I had this idea based on some evidence that the earth was growing, and that the people who owned the expansion parts of the land had a lot of secret wealth because of it. and the golfcourses were to hide the growth centers among other reasons (like looking nice) it mostly expands along lines I called laylines and they put overlapping gaps in the fences to allow the seem to grow. Or at least thats what the vision said.

I've been saying this for years. There's three or four around me in my town of maybe 5k.

Let's have one person's opinion be completely valid on an anonymous Taiwanese crochet imageboard without definite proofs.

I have been in mom and pop mattress stores. There is never anyone in any mattress store. The only busy bed stores I've ever seen is when they did those Dial a Whatever... sleep number beds in malls, before malls died the final, culturally-enriched death.

It's a conspiracy that chicago has more than two mattress selling buildings to begin with. Most of those niggers sleep in the soil

>when a juggalo debunks ur +6 to fear resistence enchanted tinfoil hat of the unicorn
for fucks sake boys, THIER matress stores, its a chain they have a monopoly,Its not like mattresses are hot items there isnt thousands of bed stores compeating, u know why?FUCKIN AUTIST, PPL DNT WANNA BUY THEIR BEDS FRM WALMART or somewere , ppl lay their dirty ass on them all day long over an over who aint even in the market to buy.Hence tons of the same chain everywere close, empty most of time cuz duh A BUNDH O STORES like car lots, fuck im really about to quit this shit after 10 years.lol ifur steal readin jokes on u exhale all grammerr spelling done ou purpose mwahah u been trolledby the best my friends

They think they have a "long term plan"

They tried to strong-arm tempurpedic, the industry standard, once they achieved the goal of "first coast to coast mattress retailer." Suffice to say, it's not working the way they want it to. They grew too fast and will contract soon.

>before malls died the final, culturally-enriched death.
malls were always shit
