My friend, Deku has shown time and time again that he's straight, and has that stopped fujos?

I just started watching the anime of this a few days ago and I'm already severely disappointed in it.
The only thing that keeps me interested in it is my curiosity of how diverse the show will become or how long they can keep up the writing style.
There is way way too much filler bullshit involved in each episode (flashbacks, recaps, pointless dialogue) for me to be satisfied watching anything other than the pure action scenes.
After a watching enough of it I for some reason was reminded of Yu Yu Hakusho and how superior that is to BnHA. All the character development feels hamfisted and cardboard compared to YYH's.
Also Izuku is probably one of the shittiest protags I've seen in anime in a while. His entire motivation is "but I wanna be a hewo too because people need me waaah" like fuck off you little needy faggot.
I feel Todoroki and the villains are the only ones with actually interesting character to them.
Also I'm not going to even rant about how 70% of the dialogue is literal inspirational garbage that is even more nonsensical and random than shit like TTGL.

I may give the manga a shot later but if I read too far ahead and watch the show afterwards I'll just feel disappointed even further if it's much worse than the manga.
I would rather feel the inverse by watching the shit show then coming over to the good manga.
The sad thing is it feels like it's trying to be a fusion between OPM and Jojo's but fails at doing either.

But seeing how similar beta Bakugo and current one are... I wouldn't say that it's really that similar. Hell, beta Deku was fucking Batman-style tacticool. There has been a lot of changes in the manga between conception and now.

What might explain the inspirational dialogue is the fact that Deku has been living on inspirational words from All Might all his life, because he's just been secluded in his own little world where he could become a hero despite being quirkless. His motives are "shallow" because they are his lingering motivations from childhood he never could let go of, and now that he has the chance, he doesn't really know what to do next.

And, well, my personal opinion is that the series is mostly about Deku's influence on the heroes around him. Instead of being the hero of the people, he is going to be the hero to the heroes. We've seen this happen several times, but it seems like Deku is not just someone fit for the general public, and much like how All Might was the pillar on top of whom the Hero society was basically built on, Deku won't become a new pillar, but he is the builder who makes the world stand on its own, by not focusing on himself, but focusing on the other heroes. Deku is also the best shonen protag I've seen to date, but most of the best stuff is from the manga, so it's kind of hard to explain. His development has been pretty slow and natural.

Nonetheless, it's not like this series is everyone's cup of tea. And if you feel like the character development is hamfisted, most of the actual development is actually still to come. We've only laid the seeds for the actual development with characters, and the payoffs will come only later. Much like how Todoroki couldn't use the flames against Bakugo, it was a way to show that once the emotional moment fades away, even talk-no-jutsu doesn't overwrite trauma immediately. And it's a theme in the series.

AM is the pillar on which the hero society is built on, but we've seen time and again that heroes are just people in the end, and every person needs a hero. So who is going to be to the heroes what AM was to the people?

I don't get why people constantly come to these threads and critique the show on like 3 episode. Maybe I'm biased because I don't really like to judge shows / manga I haven't watched / read all the way through. If you don't like a show or you aren't grabbed by it immediately, there's nothing wrong with dropping it, I don't fault people for that - but your criticisms are a lot less valid without the full scope of what you're critiquing. I've watched plenty of "bad" anime for the purpose of forming my own opinions on them, and I plan to watch a few more. Some anime that are on my list that I've heard are "bad"
