Now that the series is over, can you cunts tell me why this show isn't trash? Other than "hurr it's fun xD".

Every anime is trash if you remove the fun
Anime is certainly not trash, you have shows like Tatami galaxy, Mushishi, or LoGH. These shows doesn't need fanservice for it to work. But I also think that the anime industry is dying.
Go away with that low quality bait
>anything I disagree with is bait
Must be hard being deluded.
i can't
Is this show actually good or is it just your standard moeshit that tries too hard with the fan service
Why is fun not an acceptable reason for enjoying a show?
Breedable JCs
Just because you had fun, doesn't mean it isn't trash.
It's a standard harem romcom with a tinge of slice of life. If we were to limit it to that genre, It's great, a lot of love was put into it, and knows what it's doing. But overall, it's pretty harmless and standard seasonal shit. It just gets a lot of shit for being popular.
If you had fun I don't see why it being trash or not matters.
Those shows you list appeal to psuedo intellectuals and the easily impressionable. If you find LoGH's story and writing to be anything but derivative and mediocre, you probably haven't read many books. And I'm surprised you mention Tatami since it's just as shallow as Eromanga.
Really, anime is not what anyone should be looking for when they're searching for a meaningful artistic medium. It's purely consumerist entertainment, just like video games and comic books, and any shows that try to break that glass ceiling are just emulating other forms of media like literature and film.
...
Sagiri is cute.
It was trash. But not for reasons you belive it to be.
It was fun and episodes were ok, but story as whole felt very disjointed, rushed and non cohesive. Not sure if its fault of novel itself or anime adaptation - Oreimo didnt had that issue.
So while i enjoyed it, the experience wasne whole since the story just isnt there.
Wait, it actually ended? That last episode didn't feel like an end at all, I was sure there's gonna be more.
Season 2 when?
>and film
It is trash though? I just watched it for cute girls doing lewd things.
>story as a whole felt very disjointed and non-cohesive
>story is literally so simple it's just one point to the next point
>literally introduction -> start cycle -> sagiri introduction -> elf -> muramasa -> repeat cycle -> end
You know I can agree with you saying it's rushed but calling it disjointed and non cohesive is on your part.
You don't see how much anime all the way back to the 80s has always tried to emulate Western cinema?
I don't see how film has ever been a ''''''meaningful artistic medium''''''
I guess you wouldn't think that if your usual intake of film consists of capeshit and Hollywood big budget flicks, which make up a small portion of world cinema.
Not even that guy but good job proving your point with an assumption.
Its the next best thing after Oreimo or at least that what Oreimofags think
Something I find hilarious is that no one can explain why Eromanga Sensei is a good show. I see people giving this an 8-10 rating and saying it's a good show, but not once I've seen anyone mentioning any legitimate good quality about Eromanga except for: "it's cute", "Sagiri is so cute", "it has cute girls", "incest is wincest". This may be unfair since I shouldn't be trashing on anyone's likings and I believe people have the right to enjoy whatever the hell they like, but I cannot shake the annoyance that some people are just satisfied with anything at this point. Trust me, I like cute girls and lolis as much as the next guy does, but somewhere somehow we need to draw the line and notice when our intelligence is being insulted. Does the only thing that an anime needs is for it to have cute girls, some type of incestuous relationship, a copy/paste generic protagonist (that took no effort to create), a bunch of terribly forced memes and loli fanservice for us anime fans to be all over it on social media and be supporting this garbage? If this isn't an insult to the viewer's intelligence then I don't know what is.
Formulaic writing. This means - author is actually proffessional enougth to design his storytelling to condone the basic formulas of comedy and storytelling.
This sounds like "what? whats good about it?" - but truth is most anime/LN writers are complete shit amateurs writing without any direction and composition whatsoever.
Not sure about Eromanga/Oreimo author if he`s just good or his editors tortures him to death editing his works, but its well done. Never tedious, each episode contained, knowing how to maintain humor tension as well emotional parts without overplaying them.
A kind of writer that sits first, thinks what he wants to write about, then composes a text plan and works up on it. As opposed of Eromanga character novelists who just spill spaghetti in word files 50 pages per hour heh
ITT: author that approaches writing as work and not graphomany
The thing is, none of these characters seem remotely interesting or feel like real people. They're walking anime tropes that will only exist for the purpose of having the main guy hang around with other girls than his sister and to let the audience have a bit of variety. I have checked the manga and there is no indication they will get interesting enough to carry this bad comedy.
You quoted the wrong post, let me help you:
It's entertaining if you're into the kind of things it focuses on. That's literally everything anime needs to be objectively good, because anime is an entertainment medium.
Anime was never meant to be and will never be "art". Fuck off with your pretentiousness somewhere else.
ITT: babby's first Fushimi show
>it's so bad but it's good because I'm trash XD
Buy yourself a rope and find a tall tree. If you can't understand why this series as a whole does so well in the industry you ought to quit consuming jap media and you ought to quit life for being such cancer.
>show is over
>people still hating on it
JEEEEEESUS, how obsessed can you be
because it delievers exactly what it promisses
Hahahaha I love how every time someone calls you Eromanga shitters out on your shit taste you try to devaluate the entire anime medium implying everything should be shallow pandering garbage for otaku, it's fucking pathetic, but it's the only real defense you faggots have.
It's a literal comicket fapbait.
Nothing else.
It's a modern masterpiece
youtube.com
All we needed was this shill spamming his shitty video
The group is complete
>weeb who's too insecure about his taste
>haha I'm sarcastic I t-think it's trash too
The girls aren't even as fappable as the ones from Oreimo
You need to be older to appreciate art.
Megumi alone trumps anything in oreimo
Is this show worth watching? Or can I get the full level of enjoyment from just the lewd webms?
>Hahaha
Calm down user, must've hit that autism nerve right?
>le I like dicks girl
She is fucking garbage
It is actually a fairly sad result when compared to the author's previous work, OreImo. OreImo, flawed and infuriating as it was, actually put a great deal of time into making Kirino and Kyosuke's feelings for one another feel meaningful. Kirino was no doubt insufferable, but by the end, you could at least look at her as something more than an assortment of tropes and incest appeal. Likewise, it also went into a fair amount of detail with regards to the life of a stereotypical otaku. It represented Comiket, eroge, offline meetings, and the conflict people can have when they possess hobbies they are ashamed of. It was no Genshikan, but OreImo did at least try to contribute something to the industry with more appeal than "well, gee, banging your sister sounds like a fun idea."
The same cannot be said for Eromanga-sensei, which does and says nothing about the industry. Any moment when it does display the struggles of Masamune's career, it is extremely, unbearably dull, and often propelled by silly plot devices like one of his love interests offering all their royalties in return for Masamune becoming their slave. The whole premise of being a light novel author is an accessory that may as well not even exist. If you stripped all the fanservice away, all that would expose is the show's unsightly skeleton.
The fanservice was totally blatant this time.
With oreimo they had the dumb otaku drama plot, this time they just went just went with bikini episodes and fuck it.
>"I don't 'think' the girls are as fappable as Oreimo"
>universal truth
It's just the truth, you have no argument so you try to lower actually ambitious anime to the same level as your fapbait drivel
Do the haters care more about the show than the fans do? They certainly talk more about it
Can you make actual arguments as to why it's bad? Other than it's yucky? Or it doesn't fit YOUR criteria?
Because it makes normalfags and salesfags extremely angry.
inb4 "but normalfags from reddit like me love it"
because it triggers the nascent sexuality of underage normalfags like yourself, and I derive much satisfaction from it.
Yes, the author was not even trying to be subtle, how does it make the series better?
The designs are just extremely generic
When has that never been the case?
I just can't understand how ANYONE can like this show. People like you hurt the anime industry.
>muh industry
>designs are generic
Thank you for your opinion. Care to share more? Or do you want to back up your claim?
I actually dropped it at episode 9 when I could not stand the bullshit anymore. It was fun for a while but then it became too stupid.
People have made countless arguments, you just chose to ignore them because "lol it's fun" and "it doesn't try to be more than it is"
It's an interesting piece of trash.
Just what I like to watch.
>implying the industry cares about a gaijin
Pretty much this. Though LOGH isn't know for its good plot anyway nor its battles/tactics(as a senki series its a huge failure) nor for the incredibly basic and pretentious 'politics' which makes the fedora lords feel like they found a masterpiece.
What the Lords of Fedora can't enough of is the cliche Yang banter like 'Alcohol is mans best friend' tier cheesy lines they use as quotes and think they look classy and mature or some shit.
And then there are ironic weeb edgelords like these who pretend to defend the series because "hurr normalfags hate it so it's good"
No, people like you hurt the industry by not buying the series you like to show your support.
hahahahahaha
Just look at the kinds of replies I get every time I say that. It's great.
>everything that isn't dumb otaku pandering moeshit is pretentious pseudo-intellectual bullshit
keep being mad as fuck, user. i'll be here enjoying your rage. i've been enjoying it since 2013.
>but by the end, you could at least look at her as something more than an assortment of tropes and incest appeal
Sooner or later the bait was going to show itself.
Anyway, do you want an upboat with it or what?
I wonder how long it takes before this trash is completely forgotten
>i'm just fishing for (You)s
>u mad
More proof that Eromanga shitters do not actually love this series and are just pathetic contrarians
>b-but you'll forget this in a week you'll see
>b-but you'll forget this in a month you'll see
>b-but you'll forget this in a year you'll see
This new excuse is hilarious too.
hurr it's fun xD
>
More proof that people who hate Eromanga-sensei come from reddit.
more proof Eromanga fags are autistic
you fuckers said the same shit about oreimo. it's 2017 and you're all still fucking raging about it, and eromaga has renewed your rage even further and exponentially increased it. it is sublime. every time i see a oreimo/eromanga thread it's like i've just shot myself up with the finest heroin and the bliss will not abate until 404. thank you, anons. your rage bring me great joy.
I fucking love this reasoning. It's the weakest logic behind willingly consuming garbage yet people feel so safe using it.
>Now that the series is over, can you cunts tell me why this show isn't trash? Other than "hurr it's fun xD".
I like meta
>haha haters gonna hate
I bet you think Justin Bieber makes good music
See you in season 2.
>Being "self aware" and doing the exact same shit that you are making fun of
This is literally how shitposters opperate.
Nothing is bad anymore as long as it's "ironic" these days.
Im personally glad i watched it just for Elf but chist it's painful to know that it's popular just because Fushimi shat it out.
Being "hurr it's fun" already puts it ahead of 95% of the crap Japan produces.
HOLY FUCK IT IS REALLY LIKE I'VE TIME-TRAVELLED TO 2010-13 AGAIN
>dude current year lmao
What arguments? It's the same on both sides. Most of the arguments against the show are blanket statements like it's cliche, generic, too fanservicey, why isn't it NHK, pedos, and ugh pedos. Just because it doesn't subscribe to your subjective criteria of what media should be, it doesn't mean it's bad. As long as it logically follow the metrics universally agreed upon as a measure for art, it's not bad.
It contaisn itself to its genre (harem/slice-of-life/rom-com) extremely well and plays it strong. The story has been consistent throughout the series. And the only time you have to swallow a disparity in logic is when it introduces its premise and genre. But once you've done that, It doesn't break neither. The characters do fall into stereotypes and cliches but they're often broken and developed a character.
The reason it's also thought of as 'lol it's fun' is because the show has been carefully crafted and poured effort to its genre. And while the genre isn't admirable when criticizing as art universally, it's admirable enough because it was able to perfectly capture the audience of that genre.
The show is able to fit actual objective criteria but never delves deep into it. It isn't more than what it is. But that shows that the show is mediocre in general but great where it matters to its audience.
Give it a rest faggot.
...
It was made by the same guy as Oreimo.
Of course it's fucking shit.
Eromanga-sensei in many ways represents everything that is bad with light novels. It is a story (I guess, if we put aside its flagrantly incestual nature) of a group of twelve-to-fifteen-year-olds who are famous artists, as if adults do not and cannot exist. If Eromanga-sensei was taking inspiration from the scribbles of a bunch of middle school students, its rubbish writing would actually make a great deal of sense.
Do you not know anything about otaku culture or japanese society?
Fucking normalfags I swear.
If Muramasa cad draw as good as a photographic camera, why does she need an artist for her novels?
>criticise shit writing
>hurr fucking normalfags
Now, to clarify, first of all, I don't believe that just because an anime, or any piece of entertainment, panders towards a certain demographic, that it is inherently bad necessarily. There have been plenty of anime that pander towards the otaku audience while, at the same time, remaining fun, and some instances, good shows, but Eromanga-sensei is not such an example. It's a show that lives by the convention in terms of its plot structure, comedy, character archetypes and dives head first into trashiness at any moment it can get. What could have been an interesting look into why and how people who shut themselves inside their homes live on a daily basis, akin to something along the lines of Welcome to the N.H.K or something, the show just decides to opt out instead for loli fan-service instead, ditching anything that made Oreimo, somewhat enjoyable, and, in some parts, decent. Before I continue, I'd just like to clarify that I am not hating on this show just because the original creator also created Oreimo. As I just said, I found that show to be decent (until the ending anyway) but it also had a few things that I could appreciate when it comes to meta humour about otaku and the anime industry as a whole. Eromanga-sensei has none of that. It's pointless, empty and has no value as a show at all. It's trash in every sense of the word.
>It's a story I guess
>if we put aside its selling point
>adults did have influence but let's ignore that
>if Eromanga-sensei was taking inspiration from middle school students
>she's literally a continuation of her mom
Very strong criticism normalfag.
Why does every fucking piece of media produced today have to be a social critique, analysis or deconstruction? Fucking hell.
Eromanga shitters keep covering their ears and ignoring all criticism, how predictable
Because that's what pretentious faggot look for when they watch anime. Anything that isn't deep as fuck is worthless for them.
Because it holds no weight otherwise. What are you some kind of fag who watches for entertainment?
Jesus fucking chirst.
Are you the same faggot that keeps defending Black Clover because it "Sticks to it's genre" and "knows its audience"?
This is and never has been a valid point to defend anything.
Criticism don't work like that and you know it.
Nothing is gonna save this show from being put up against other works no matter how much you want it not to be.
It's a low effort show made for low effort people and that in itself is worth criticizing and hating it for.
Would you be defending this shit if it was just another haremshit show #32615 made by a literal who next season just because it "plays it safe"?
